We popped in late afternoon and they were quite busy. They quickly seated us and we each ordered a primi and a secondi. The food arrived quickly. The veal with tuna was unique. I was expecting thicker pieces of veal. Overall, a nice appetizer. The chicken bites were way more substantial and each bite of chicken, eggplant and tomato really held its own in the dish. The pastas were each made so well and we were blown away. The seafood sauce with shrimp and squid ink pasta was out of this world and my SO's pasta topped with bacon was phenomenol. This is a must visit when you are in Milan. Better yet, your stomach and wallet are both happy after this meal.

I found it astonishingly amazing how my experience with this place went from good to bad…read moreunexpectedly. I'm very sorry I didn't read the yelp reviews beforehand. The place looks nice and the employees are dressed well, but those are all the positives I have to say about this place. I ordered a fillet, medium. It came out almost like beef tartar. I sent it back to the kitchen and it came back out hardly cooked any more at all as it was still mostly very raw inside. So the third time I ordered it well done and it came back medium-well, and finally edible. But it had so little flavor, salt, pepper, or any other spice. The vegetables were the same potatoes were very bland. For some reason they gave me some slivers of cheese and a charred onion that wasn't worth eating. It's so amazing how this place stays in business, because only a small percentage of people inside seemed to be tourists.

I went on a short break with my girlfriend who is a bit of a fussy eater but when it comes to italian food she is happy. I booked this place hearing some of the reviews and seeing some of the photos and it was definitely worth it. The service was fantastic (even with my awful attempt at ordering in italian she let me have a go) and quick for the fact it was really busy! The atmosphere is nice and romantic but not over the top so allows for a relaxing date and warm feeling. The food was not cheap but nothing in Milan really is! The portions were great and the size of the milanese is as big as it looks - filling to say the least! However the risotto alla milanese, a specialty I tried in a couple of restaurants, was the benchmark that never got beaten during our trip! We fought over the last few bites and I was tempted to order another one but the rest of the food was so great we kind of just wanted it all! If I end up back in Milan this will be up there with places to go back to!

After so many years Traveling to Italy, I finally…read moreexperienced a traditional and typical Milanese meal...with the locals! Located in the Navigli neighborhood, we walked along the canals for about a hour in the freezing cold and worked up and appetite. This isn't one of those places along the canal with employees inviting you in for "happy hour" or aperitivo. As soon as you step foot inside this place, you'll feel cozy and welcome. We drank the house wine, shared an antipasto Misto (mixed appetizer plate of traditional Milanese items- fried bread, potato skins, pickled nerves... Totally strange item but worth a try, Salumi and cheese. The appetizer alone was a feast! For dinner, the Milanesa was a must! I ordered it extra thin with a side of mashed potatoes. Take note- the portions are enormous! I barely ate half. My man ordered the risotto Damm-atra. (Saffron risotto served with a sausage and bean stew) both dishes were awesome. Super rustic and totally traditional. The service as friendly, the atmosphere is humble and the food delicious. Anyone looking for an adventure outside the high trafficked Duomo area Will enjoy this spot.

(5 star) dressing/sauce was rich n creamy (the thickiness is not my cup of tea). (chef: if this were octopus salad, will be a more welcoming appetizer) the beef tongue was cooked well, tender. (3 star) (chef: but if it was charcoal grilled + savory gravy, that will taste better) the mushroom that came with the beef tongue in deed was surprisingly tasty, wanted more!! (5 star) (chef: if the mushroom + green sauce is a dish in the menu, will be a great n tasty vege dish) the ox tail stuffing taste good, not superb, a bit dry ravioli. dressing was not impressive. (3 star) (chef: would like to have choice of sauce , tomato base or cream base, this will accomodate different customer's appetite) ** if u r a fan of light salt but heavy/rich cream, this is your place to go. ** the champagne was good though, sparkling n not too sweet. worth trying!
