One of the best Tiramisus that I've had in Italy. Good pastas too. Comfortable atmosphere with plenty of seating available.

DonGio is located on a quiet street, away from all the popular sightseeing areas. But thanks to Michelin guide, I found this restaurant and could enjoy wonderful food. Wines are very reasonably priced. Pasta dishes were simple but very tasty. Veal cutlet Milano style was also simple but perfect. Service was very warm and excellent too.

Molto buono soprattutto se ti piace cibo leggermente piccante! La pasta con salsiccia ed i dolci valgono la pena... Ci torno regolarmente

My Airbnb host recommended this place for authentic local pizza and it did not disappoint!…read more Very friendly staff and extremely quick service. The servers are all very attentive and helped each other out when it got busy. They have a good variety of pizza. I had the Greengrocer pizza with added 'nduja. So delicious, very fresh and perfectly crispy crust. They brought out a little taster at the beginning, as well as a glass of what I think was Prosecco (I don't drink but it smelled like it). Very nice touch.

On weekends they don't take reservations so I recommend coming when they open to avoid waiting in line. They give you a complimentary glass of Prosecco & a small toasted bread filled with cheese, tomato and spinach which was warm & tasty. We started with the potato croquettes which to me were just ok, they didn't have much flavor so I added the Calabrian chili oil that's on the table. For pizzas, we shared the Calabrian, the delicata bianca special & the burrata. They were all phenomenal. The crust was thin, perfectly cooked crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The delicata Bianca was light but the combination of the cheese with the chives & poppy was perfect. The burrata was generously covered with prosciutto & the red sauce on the pizza was a nice balance to the other toppings (I feel like most prosciutto pizzas I've had come with a white sauce or olive oil). Lastly the Calabrian was a great balance of cheese and spice, the basil was a nice addition to cut the spice. Would love to come back and try their other pizzas ! The service was quick and kind.

It's also across from a very active open market on Saturdays. The pasta and potato chips are homemade and excellent. Had a tagliatelle with white truffle shavings but the truffle was rather tasteless so considering the expense, I would pass on this in future. Followed with a traditional carpaccio on arugula with shavings of aged cheese. This was good but I would steer rather towards the seafood next time which looked great, except perhaps the lobster which I know is flown in daily from New York (a large shipment was on my outgoing flight) and has to have suffered some stress. They also attire the hapless lobster diner in a bib that looks like a clown's tuxedo. Had to indulge in the gelati (strawberry and chocolate) for dessert. The service is fabulous, as one starts to come to expect from most good Italian restaurants and extremely friendly. Just when you wave the white flag, they surprise you with complimentary biscotti and limoncello, so diabetics beware and be forewarned.

We had to…read moremove our reservation back an hour due to travel issues (which is something that many other restaurants would give us a hard time about), and the team at Il Luogo was so understanding!! My group and I ended up doing a tasting menu, which is the way to go! Just be sure to set aside 4 hrs, especially if you're a chatty group like we were. The servers also made the perfect wine recommendations to go along with our meal. I wish I had more time to go back and try some of the other delicious and creative plates!

My first 2 Michelin star restaurant experience!…read more You definitely have to make reservations in advance; this experience will take at least 3-4 hours. A bit out of the way from the the central Milan area, but worth the trip! This is the most expensive meal I've had to the date. I ordered the Summer menu (shorter and cheaper than their Territories menu). The whole table must have the same menu since they bring everyone's next course at the same time and explain the dish in Italian or English (depending on your preference). There are a lot of course but each one is quite small. If there's something you do not like on the menu (which they let you preview before choosing), you can ask them to substitute it. I did not want the purple shrimp, so they offered to substitute it with a fish dish and ultimately served me the red mullet from their territories menu. I ended up trying a lot of new dishes here; it was my first time eating all of the fish they served and they did it well. Most of the other dishes were good but didn't stand out to me (e.g. the dishes with the veal). Surprisingly, my absolute favorite dish had to be the pureed 'cicerchie' from Puglia, with wild chicory, figs must and 'lampascioni' in raspberries vinegar. It is vegetarian, but it was so flavorful and homey; I loved it! If I could order just this, I would be ordering from here every week! Afterward, ordered an espresso (not included in the meal price). Tasted like the espresso served at most other non-Michelin star restaurants but was much more expensive. One of the chefs came out to chat with each table, and his passion for creating foods to represent the "Italian kitchen" (diverse because of all the different regions in Italy) was VERY evident and was a joy to see. Although it's a very expensive meal, I would definitely recommend stopping by here once to experience the food and atmosphere.

*** I came here on the advice of the owner of the B&B where I am staying. She said that I would get good service if I dropped her name. Now I believe that everyone deserves the same service and I don't need an edge. Il primo, the pasta, was delicious, the house wine good, but the secundo, griglia misto, was a mix. The squid was grilled too long and was tough, the tuna (I think) was also overcooked, mussels already cold. But anyway, that could be just me and doesn't count for much in my evaluation (which, by the way, could have been worse). However, while taking my last bite, I saw the owner conferring with my host. They clearly wanted to clear this table quickly and like a grasshopper they took away my plate, asked me if I wanted anything else and within two minutes the coffee and liquor were in front of me together with, unsolicited, the bill. Well, then you just throw everything back in one gulp and go inside with bill and money. It was clear that income is important, but since I am not a returning customer and I was alone, they considered good hospitality of no importance. I made it clear that I was angry, but I left it at a glance, other customers may have noticed, but I didn't want to ruin their evening. Apparently, this is only a restaurant if you are with a larger group or you have connections. Don't go if you don't belong to one of the two and if you have connections, use them (although I wonder if you should want to). By the way, a (well) friendly young waiter came after me because I had forgotten a bag in the rush. More like him are needed there and the owner should retire: he is not suitable for the catering business.
