They really do a great job of training their service folks. Super sweet and really helpful. We ordered a crofuffle breakfast sandwich that was just OK. It sounds good on the menu, but in reality, the cheese was not melted. There was too much arugula and not enough meat (bacon). The sweet potatoes that came on the side were mushy and not roasted like I like them. Could be a personal preference. The dirty soda my son got was full of sugar and craziness just like he likes it. And a cup of coffee was just okay. Outdoor seating was gorgeous!

Located in a prime area of AU, Purely Bowls is a clean, varied, and tasty addition. They have a very cool combination called "Twosies" where you can mix-n-match smoothies, bowls, and toast, for about $16 bucks. I was in search of options that weren't sweet so I chose the green smoothies and the BYO bowl. The bowl was so simple but sooo good: Oatmeal, mango, banana x2, blueberry flax, and peanut butter. The bowl was hearty, delicious, and fresh. I couldn't even finish my smoothie because I was chowing down on my bowl. Now, don't get me wrong, the green smoothie is okay. And I would actually order it again, just ask for more Kale.

I ordered the house marg (always a good barometer of a place), and they brought out a nice chalice and some chips and salsa while I looked over the menu. Chips were warm, salsa was spicy and cool - perfect temperatures! The dining room is mostly multi-top tables scattered in rows. Families, couples, and other groups were scattered around. There was a sports team of 9-12 year-old boys and their families eating at one long double table which was a bit rowdy, but not overly so for that age. Didn't really bother me, but I have lived through that age, and had kids that I'd take out as well. I've been to louder fast food joints on a late Spring Saturday night. The bar service person was friendly and answered my questions about different food combos. I eventually selected the birria tacos, and they came out in maybe five minutes, hot, and accompanied by a nice bowl of soup/sauce for dipping. I dove in and forgot to take pictures, it was so good. If you've not had birria before, it's a meat cooked in broth. Then the meat is placed in a partially cooked tostada, folded and grilled. Think a taco with warm ingredients, instead for cold items put into a cooked shell. You dip them in the liquid the meat was cooked in, kinda like an au jus sandwich. It's great! Birria is originally from Jalisco, MX, (home of ranchero music and tequila, so they know something!) and was made from goat, because the Spanish gave the peasants goats. Stewing made the tough meat better. But now it's usually beef. I'd definitely return if I were back in the area. I was here to celebrate a family birthday. It was a nice way to end a tiring day.
