We visited one Monday afternoon. We are fans of the tropical lures in Columbia, but had never been to the one in Springfield. while we were waiting, I witnessed an apparent frequent patron help himself behind the bar because the bartender was on a phone call. When the bartender was done with his phone call, I requested my favorite and was told they didn't have that drink I made a joke about driving along way, and looking forward to the drink to which the bartender replied, " we have a phone. Had a great night here. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Plenty of seating indoors. Outdoors area up and down stairs. Bathrooms were clean and music was right. Mixed crowd of college and adults without any drama. Staff is very friendly and kept things flowing at the bar. Although I know geographic areas have different flavor popularity, the daiquiri I had today was absolutely the worst tasting one I've had. It tasted like the machines haven't been cleaned and also the flavor was not even close to Jungle Juice. I threw it away and $12 down the drain. Also, this place is filthy. 3 bartenders on a Saturday afternoon along with 2 security guys sitting down looking at their phones, I could have walked out with thsi crappy drink. Not to mention the place smells like stagnate booze. Come on guys, take some pride! read more

Who doesn't love a slushee with booze?! So many different options, and so refreshing! This is more of a grab-and-go place for me rather than a sit and drink. However, they do have a good patio area. My personal favorites are Tiger Paw, Bear Claw, and Island Punch. But you really can't go wrong with any of the drinks here! read more

I love this place for Thursday night's alone! Although I was a Greek at MSU and most of us populated the bar, the beer prices and atmosphere were great, along with the arcade games (Golden Tee) and the pool tables. Drink prices are good (Dollar bottles on Thursdays!) and the specialty drinks are tasty and unique (Silver Bullet is good). Great Place. read more

Tropical Liqueurs is ok. The drinks themselves are great! The environment is ok, the seating is pretty much nonexistent. The crowd is very young, but considering it's nearly down from campus is no surprise. If you're looking for a tasty frozen drink and a fairly younger crowd, I would recommend Tropical Liqueurs. I really wouldn't "hang out" here though. read more

The drinks were good and the lady working at the bar was friendly and accurate. A dark haired gentleman who worked at the bar displayed very poor customer service when someone with us stepped behind the bar looking for the bathroom. He was very rude to her. She said it was by accident and that she had never been there before and he continued to get louder and ruder. Very poor communication skills for someone working with the public. We were a group of 14 paying customers who probably won't return because of his actions. read more

Very bad experience. I attempted to buy a drink with an out of state license. They refused me, calling it a fake. The license was most definitely real. I even went out to my car and brought in my receipt from when I purchased the license from the DMV; however, they were still not convinced. I understand the importance of not serving to minors and the risks involved to establishments, but the lack of understanding between real and fake IDs is frustrating. Additionally, the bartender was very disrespectful throughout the whole process. She even put a large crease in my license when she was "testing it." I do not recommend going to this establishment if you are from out of state, unless you want your ID ruined. read more

The drinks are great. However, the customer service skills displayed by the bartenders are extremely poor. The dark haired overweight bartender is extremely rude to any and all customers, all the time. The female bartender with half her head shaved has a poor attitude and will roll her eyes at you. The bartenders do not understand the concept of taking multiple orders at once and are in no hurry to help anyone. They are also rude and you better not do anything to make them mad or they won't serve you. If you do anything other than stand there patiently they will punish you and make you wait longer or even not serve you at all. Seems like they are all on a power trip. read more

After much anticipation of Trops Memorial Day weekend only to find out they were under construction, we were finally able to make it the second weekend of June. Upon arriving and seeming like we were walking in a dark alley to get there, the atmosphere seemed fun and laid back. We were with a group of 6 and they were doing 1 in 1 out which obviously was annoying for the last person in the group. As we were waiting two 'bros' walked up like the owned the joint... props to the worker for telling them to settle it. I had high expectations from trops as many of the bars in Key West are these type. When I ordered my drink it tasted like sugar sugar and more sugar... I def. could not taste any alcohol and for ordering one of the larger sizes, could not feel any alcohol either. The interior was decorated with a beach theme which I always appreciate. The paint looked great and I am sure it was a wonderful improvement from what they had before! To be honest, I felt like I was back at a high school party where we would go to the gas station and get our Styrofoam cups and filled them with alcohol because ya know, nobody knew what was in them after all right?? I am glad I got to experience the infamous Trops of Springfield but I didn't see what all the hype is about. read more

I'll preface this by saying that my girlfriend loves loves loves this place. She has the punch card and everything. I've tried the drinks she gets and they're good, if you like alcohol slushes. That said, the place itself could use some work. Bathrooms fit one person, which is problematic when 2 ladies used the women's room to argue or whatever else ladies do in the bathroom. The back door is down a level and in the back of the place. This means that people openly leave the place with their drinks and nobody sees or cares. I know they don't care because people also openly walk out the front door as well. Most of the crowd have to have fake IDs, there is no way half of these kids are even 20. Also, last time I was there, a bunch of drunks blocked the front door and tried to hassle us to check our ids. We learned from the bartender that they had been there for a few hours. You just can't let that happen. So, to summarize: drinks are ok if that's your thing, but serious problems with everything else. read more

The drinks are alright, but I've had better alcohol slushies. The main problem is the terrible attitude and disposition of the employees. There are a few that are great, but the majority of the people working are terrible. Management seems pretty crappy as well. I live close by and was a regular customer for a while, but had far too many experiences with bad customer service. I had a punch card for a 1 dollar extra-large slush. I think their prices are way too high anyway, but it helped that I had the punch card to get it for one dollar. The slush was completely watered down and runny. My boyfriend and I each took 1 small sip and realized there was something wrong. It tasted like several alcohols mixed together with a really heavy syrup. I immediately took it back inside and the woman working at the counter was extremely rude and said that the kind of slush I bought was always more liquidy than others. She blamed me for getting that type of slush if I wanted something more frozen, even though I have had that type many times before and it was NEVER like that. She dumped a small bit of it out and gave me a few ounces of another type mixed in with the one I got but was condescending, spiteful, and completely rude about the whole interaction. The manager or owner is unprofessional and apparently does not care about how is employees treat customers. read more
