Always so friendly, knowledgeable and clean beds!! Love the Macomb Location but all of them are great!

I wanted to give a 4 star because I was a loyal tanner for a few years, but gave a 3 star because they have some great qualities and some not so great. (also this review is based on previous experience a couple years ago) First, the owner's daughter is the best employee by far. She is always super friendly. They have 2 locations near campus which is convenient. The "beast" of a bed at one location is the best for a great tan and staying cool cause it has a/c. Everything seems to be clean as well. If i remember right, it fits the college student budget a bit more than bronze-it and is the same quality. Bad news, there are some bad apples that work there. I chose to only go to one location, Jackson Street, because I became so uncomfortable going to the other. The girls I encountered were rude, unhelpful, and actually gossiped about their customers between each other and other customers...not good. I hope in the past years they have weeded those kinds of girls out because i really do like the place and hope they continue to do well. read more

UNETHICAL BILLING PRACTICES My son has been automatically charged twice for a membership that he has cancelled. He called to cancel, and was told he had to bring in a "written request" to cancel. After taking in a written request to cancel his membership, he was again charged almost $40 and told that his written request must have been "lost." He then took in a SECOND written request to cancel his membership, which seems a ridiculous business practice, and was again automatically charged for a membership. When he called, he was told he would have to speak to the owner, Mark Furniss, who was unavailable and would have to call him back. That was three days ago, and the owner still has not called. As this situation has been ongoing for almost three months, I am going to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau regarding what appears to be unethical business practices. read more

I used to love this place! Girls were all nice, friendly, and helpful. Great beds, perfect hours, clean environment. Then it came time for me cancelling my account.. I had my account on freeze while I left for the school semester. (Charged $5/mo -which was fine). I ended up not coming back to Macomb for school. I noticed my account began to get charged $38 .49 in August. The manager sent an email to me over the summer stating it will be turned on in August. I never confirmed it to be turned on, nor did I get an email or notification reminder that my card was going to begin being charged. I never used any minutes, got charged two months of tanning, plus a $43.49 cancelation fee(on oct 12). Now I just got charged $38.49 again (Oct 31st) after already paying 2months of unused tanning and a $43.49 cancellation fee!!!! Charged August (unused service)$38.49 Sept (unused service) $38.49 October 12 (cancellation) $43.49 October 31st $38.49 Altogether $158.96 !!!! Charged to my card! For UNUSED SERVICE! I will state, I came to Macomb in Sept for a wedding and visited the salon 2xs. But I had a free tan coupon - then next time I came in, I was told I have a free 15min tan. (I was willing to pay out of pocket for a single session tan) otherwise, never visited the salon this whole semester! read more

BE CAREFUL GETTING A SPRAY TAN HERE!! Went in to get a spray tan for an event. Went in the day before and did everything required before getting a spray. The worker automatically gave me the bronze option. She did not ask me if I wanted the clear or bronze spray. After I got sprayed I noticed something was off. My face was extremely tan and my body had no color. The girl working tried to reassure me it would all even out in the next few hours. I allowed my tan to develop for 9 hours before I showered. Only half of my body was sprayed. My entire right side had a spray tan and the left side had no color at all. The next morning I went in to show them what had happened to me. The girl Esmerald was very apologetic about what happened to me. The owner, Mark Furniss, was not apologetic at all. He accused me of not doing the correct positions and prep work before a spray tan. He also wanted me to pay for another spray tan after his machine was not working correctly. He "compensated" me by giving me a do it yourself spray tan, which did not work at all. Basically, be careful if you get a spray tan there because if you do not get the results expected, the owner will not be accommodating and he will just be rude. I have been going there for years and after this NEGATIVE experience, I will NOT BE RETURNING!! read more

If I could have given no stars I would have. They have absolutely terrible service. I used to go to Western Illinois University but ended up transferring out so I cancelled my account back in August. I was told that I had to e-mail them in order to cancel my account, which I did. 6 months later I am still being billed $20.77 each month. When I called about it the manager was extremely rude and refused to let me talk. Every time I would try to explain my story he would talk over me and when I asked "Can I talk?" he said no and kept talking about how I can't get my money back. It's safe to say they fraudulently took my money and had no shame in doing it. I'm currently working with my bank to get my money back. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

The location on West Jackson in Macomb is the best. Lexie, the owners daughter, is amazing. She is friendly, knowledgeable and is always willing to help customers. The beds are high quality. My favorite is the beast (bed #1). read more
