It's what *sold* me on visiting his Moonlight Aquatics (even thoughthe store is further away (in distance) than other stores more convenient and local to our home. Initially, I called Moonlight Aquatics with a couple questions having just hung up from speaking with a nearby fish store's "customer service" employee whose telephone demeanor was both rushed and iimpolite. As a result, I called Moonlight Aquatics with the same questions. Chang's response was informative, patient, and reassuring. He took time explaining his recommendations. It was obvious my call & questions were important to Chang, therefore, I decided to drive the extra miles to Moonlight Aquatics - am very happy I did, too! Upon first entering Moonlight Aquatics, Chang greeted & helped me locate the perfect compatible fish plus a healthy, green plant growing in an artsy, beautiful wood base. Moonlight Aquatics is my new *go-to* fish store. I highly recommend Chang and Moonlight Aquatics. He was incredibly patient, took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, and gave thoughtful recommendations that were perfect for a newbie like me. What really stood out was that he didn't just tell me what to do -- he actually demonstrated how to properly clean the bottom of the tank, which gave me so much more confidence going home. I never felt rushed or talked down to, just genuinely supported. The selection of fish, live plants and accessories are incredible! The fish look happy and active, and I now have a few favorites to come back for once I get a bigger tank. I walked in here with no planned intention but ended up buying an entire DOOA glass and light setup. it's definitely not cheap (~$300 for the set I bought. just glass, metal arm, light, 2 rocks) but what made it worth it is the fact that Adam from this shop was SO kind and beyond helpful. he gave suggestions and advice on what I would need to get my setup working properly, down to the type of substrate for certain plants. when I was picking out a few rocks for my glass, Adam had such an aesthetic eye for which one would look nice in the environment. I'm typically so picky about achieving a certain look for tank builds, but the two rocks Adam pointed out I immediately loved and got (they even have a sand dojo area for you to play around with layout). He sees the vision and helps you execute. This type of expertise and willingness to help is absolutely what lead me to buy an entire setup on a whim! But truly, cares for your build like he would his own and he doesn't try to *sell* you anything, rather he wants the plant to thrive in the environment created, and he's happy to give advice and his time to bring you to success. I was fascinated by the mysterious water landscape. They have classes. An aquascape allows you to create your own landscape within your aquarium.
