Great Mexican place in North End! I've only had tacos, and some rice, but it has all been really legit. For some reason I originally expected it to be just a takeout place, but it actually has a comfortable, nicely decorated dining room with plenty of tables. You order from the counter though. I've had the Taco Salseado, which I loved, and regular tacos with marinated chicken and "tinga", which is a shredded chicken that is amazing. Cool sauces too! My favorite is the thinner, spicier green one. I think they take special pride in their al pastor pork (see my pic), so I recommend trying something with that. You can order in advance from their website, and they are on DoorDash. There is decent street parking but they have a dedicated lot of their own down that hill. Great food!

My cousin and I meet for dinner in st. Paul once a month. We saw someone post about this taco spot and had to try it. Located on a busy street, you'll have to drive around to look for parking. They don't have a parking lot. Restaurant is colorful, red seats, yellow and red walls. Order at the counter and they'll call you once the order is ready. Pastor meat is delicious.

Food: great! Service: great! Ambiance: nicer hole-in-the-wall vibe I have been excited to try Tromperia el Zac, and I'm so glad I had the chance to come here for lunch. My friend and I ordered - carne asada taco - Al pastor taco - tripa taco (extra crispy) - nachos without meat (not pictured) - horchata The tacos were really good! The all pastor and carne asada were tender and flavorful, and the tripa was crispy and delicious. My favorites were the pastor and tripa. The carne asada was more like braised beef than steak chunks, so I didn't love it as much. The nachos were really good too. They were crispy, light, yet flavorful. Last thing was the horchata. It was good and more creamy than what I prefer, but I didn't mind it. It went well with the tacos. Overall, I'm extremely happy that Tromperia el Zac is close by and that they have excellent food and service. This is my my new favorite taco joint!

Great little Mexican restaurant. Food is tasty, service is fast and friendly. Parking is decent cause they have street parking and a parking lot. It's probably not as annoying to get to once Rice Street isn't under construction. Quality and quantity for a good price point, can't beat that.

Tacos were great. I had the asada and the meat was flavorful and well seasoned. Service was good too. So had a small order mixup but easily fixed. Clean dining room and clean restrooms. Only unloveable thing was the construction around the building. I also tried the pozole. The pork was tender, juicy and craveable. I also tried the tamales. I LOVE tamales but these weren't didn't register on my list of favorite tamales. If going with them, I'd go for the regulars in the corn husks than the Oaxaca style here as the masa is more coagulated in the leaves than usual-in comparison to other Oaxaca style tamales I've had. Still really good food overall. There's a parking lot behind the building with a sign as indicator but the road on the store front is blocked off right now.

Got Chile rellenos, it was undercooked and bland. Rice and beans were good. Not worth it.

Like truly, this is a one stop shop! I love coming here for groceries, then picking up some ready-made meal items (meats, rice, and fresh salsas), plus getting tacos to eat onsite. Especially during Dia De Los Muertos, this place is sooo stunning with all the decor. Awesome long-time family owned business (and sister-owned currently!)

They are an immigrant-owned business, and you can also find their food truck at local MN events and even a stall at the State Fair! We don't go out for Mexican food very often because my mother in law is from Chihuahua and typically cooks better and more authentically than most restaurants in the area, but when we do El Burrito is typically on the short list. We've always had good service here. The staff is friendly, happy to chat or talk to you, and give recommendations. We stopped in this last time to grab a couple drinks on the patio and the waitress was nice enough to warn us that they've had bees recently. There were alot of bees, but we got through it and were happy that she warned us ahead of time. Their specials are excellent including their double Entre special on Thursdays and their Taco Tuesday deals. Really if you haven't given this place a shot either for groceries or for their restaurant you should stop in!

My wife said I looked like was about to cry when a inch cup of carnitas fell out of my taco and bounced down to the floor. Our recent visit my wife got the carnitas tacos, I got the torta and an order of the Rajas and for drinks were ordered the pineapple express margarita and the habanero cilantro margarita. We had 2 other couples with us and we all agreed everything was spectacular. Pictures are from our first visit.
