Quick and easy cute stop. Me and my kids even brought our own troll.. forgot to bring something to hang it with lol but thankfully we found an area for him.

Upwards towards the bridge, some trolls cling to the upper framework.

The Troll Bridge is a free, local flavor attraction in the Portland, Oregon area heading west. There aren't any signs for it but it is indeed in maps and the Yelp coordinates are accurate for it so no problem there. It was a fun stop but spent just a few minutes here. It's a collection of different toy trolls all placed under a railroad bridge it would seem which is pretty cool. All kinds of these toy trolls are placed all over the underneath of the bridge where the road goes underneath the bridge and they go up fairly high as well. Despite this being a fun stop it pretty much qualifies as a " one and done" situation but that doesn't mean the landscape of the make up of trolls doesn't change and there could be a pull to return if some troll of an unusual sort that would pull me back here to admire. When I posted pictures on my Facebook account of this bridge I stated " Portland, Oregon where magical fantasy and the Pacific Northwest collide. Even the trolls have their own bridge to live under here". Which has a great ring of truth to it.

Fun little gem off the road under the trestle bridge. We were given a bag of trolls and read about this stop in a local article and thought what a great place to repurpose them. Thoughtfully someone has left a bag of zip ties for attaching your troll, but as space has become limited I suggest bringing a stapler or some pin nails. Cute roadside attraction for kids into trolls for sure:)

Stopped by this road side attraction. It's a quick fun thing to do if you're near it.

Ummmmmm. Big disappointment. Train trestle was cool, but I thought it was an actual bridge. It's just a drive under the train kind of thing. Not what I expected.

Trolls anyone??? This is one of the most coolest bridge I have ever seen.. a bridge full of troll dolls.

A quick and fun thing to do while in Portland. My daughter enjoyed the Trolls and had a fun time. Its about 20 min north of Portland and a quick thing to stop by and see it.

This place is so magical! I love it, I have my own troll collection and got surprise driven down here to check this out! So weird and fun, had a lovely visit with all the trollies. Must stop near Portland!

Ok, this is fun and silly and I wish I had shown up with a troll to add. Some wonderful soul left glue, nails and string for your creative pleasure. There is something playful and sweet about this bridge. Bring a friend that could use a spiritual lift or a child that needs a little magic. Another reason to love Portland.

Besides participating in Yelp Talk, Trolls live under bridges (see http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=The%20Troll). On MacNamee Road, underneath the old wood-piles railroad trestle, people have 'affixed' troll dolls to the boards and painted some others (very well done art), forming a colony of Trolls on the boards (see pics). How were they 'affixed'? From a city that has VooDoo Donuts, I guess that explains some dolls with a stake(nail) through them. The bridge is made from the old round creosote wood pilings. There is plenty of room to put troll dolls on other structures, but the panel seems to be the only gathering spot. Perhaps they like basketball and like to hit the boards (their team: Portland Troll Blazers). Rumor has it that if you look too long and miss the sharp curve just ahead, the trolls will dance and cheer. (note: the mapping does not handle the address right. It is located 15 minutes northwest of Portland off Hwy 30. Use Google Maps and look for the railroad running parallel near 30.)

It means big murals to look at, wall projections that are responsive to movement, sounds meant to augment what you see, and more. For just $23/day with in-and-out privileges, you can play unlimited games to your heart's content. With over 690 games and growing, wall-to-wall memorabilia and signed photos, and everything from childhood classics to newer titles -- they've got it all. And if you're a pinball wizard, this is absolutely your place. Hours are 10am to 9pm with plenty of parking. Getting hungry mid-session? No problem. You can bring your own food or grab something from their outdoor food carts -- hot dogs, pizza, you name it. There are also restaurants nearby, and with in-and-out privileges, you'll definitely want to take a break and refuel before diving back in. They even have a party room available for birthday parties or corporate events. And don't overlook the bathrooms -- yes, the bathrooms -- because the memorabilia continues in there too! Fair warning: I was so obsessed that I played all day long... and woke up the next morning with seriously sore hands. Totally worth it. Pro tip -- bring a friend or partner, because the two-player games are even more fun, and some games like Mario Kart let you race four or more players at once. I still can't believe they had all my favorites from the 1980s: Pac-Man, Asteroids, Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., Joust, Star Wars, BurgerTime, Rampage, Moon Patrol -- and so much more. Also, make sure to sign up for their club -- members get in for $20 on Thursdays, and your 10th visit is completely free. I'd give this place 10 stars out of 5 if I could. It's one of the most amazing arcades I've ever been to, and you absolutely will not regret going.

So that we would just be around the corner and popping in here would be easy during our stay. Luckily I was able to come in on two different days, and at different times! You might see some kids during the day. What a cool place, with yummy drinks (no food), and all my favorite arcade games, and then some! They operate on a card system, so no coins needed when you visit. My pinball wizard friend had been traveling arcade ready with coins in her bag, but it turns out they weren't needed. Ground Kontrol supplies free lockers to store your stuff; just follow the instructions and don't forget your code. I learned a lot about pinball during my visits here, and played more pinball than I usually do because of that. I mean, why not? I played one of the newest pinball games, released within weeks of my visit, which was Pokemon themed, and I played one of the more vintage pinball machines, Xenon. And everything in between! It was awesome. $20 loaded onto a card will get you 15ish games, but there is a different cost depending on which game you're playing. I was satisfied with the value and would, and did! come back again. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!
