Who doesn't look down at airport flooring and think "I need to provide my thoughts to the world on…read morethis!" Well, if you're not one of those people, you should be. Nobody cares if your nuggets were cold or you waited 15 minutes before the waitress visited your table. People want to know everything about that carpet. And just to avoid all the DMs I know I'll receive on this, let me answer all of the questions in advance: How does your bag roll across it? Me: not bad, but a little bit of friction. Is it soft to walk on? Me: not really, but that would make it hard to wheel a bag Is it clean? Me: yes, surprisingly not any major smudges or streaks or big stains Does the carpet match the drapes? Me: well played, but I didn't see drapes at PDX to compare Would you eat food if you dropped it? Me: not even before 5 seconds Is the pattern consistent? Me: yes, the installers did a great job lining up the seams. Would you buy it for your house? Me: it's too industrial for my taste, but if I was a 90's Junkie, I'd consider it. Did they film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles here? Me: I don't believe they did, although there were two pillows to put your hands between... wait, what? Would cats like it? Me: oh yes, they'd dig their nails into it like a scratching post How does it feel on bare feet? Me: I usually don't walk barefoot in the airport, so I don't know. Is the carpet sticky like a movie theater floor? Me: No, I didn't get that ick feeling of a sticky carpet How did you find out about this page? Me: some Yelpers from Portland kept posting shoe pics from here Why does this page exist? Me: because it's awesome. People care about carpet What is the best food at PDX? Me: RTFF, we're talking USDA Grade A Carpet here What level of padding is underneath? Me: if I had to guess, I'd say concrete, but probably some type of thin rubber backing on the carpet Did anyone get buried in it during installation like the Hoover Dam? Me: I didn't see any skeleton shaped lumps anywhere Can you smell the carpet glue? Me: you really DID pick the wrong week to stop sniffing glue

GETTING HERE: This…read moreis the carpet located at the Portland, Oregon International Airport, PDX. REVIEW: I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm breaking every cardinal rule that I have on Yelp! I absolutely loath the pages that aren't of actual businesses where you receive a service. But having just traveled through PDX and realizing that the carpet is a thing, I had to jump on board. I am that yelper. Lol! I just followed their Instagram account and evidently there is a huge community that has strong feelings about the carpet at PDX. You gotta go you gotta take a picture and you gotta grab it. Check it out and come yelp it. :-)

This street has it all! Vibrant shops, unique bars, several music venues, and lots of restaurants…read morespanning a variety of cuisines and price ranges. Thai, Italian, Sushi, Burgers, Southern comfort food, Korean, Mexican, ice cream - it's all there! The shops are small business - no chains - and range from eclectic little boutiques perfect to browse and shop for treasures, to gourmet food shops with a plethora of local items, and a store that has every lightbulb known to exist - Sunlan - that truly is worth a visit. I really like Ink & Peat gift shop. So many fun items like warm and comfy throws, jewelry, chocolates, garden items, perfume. Hard to visit without a purchase! For those looking for adult beverages day and night, there are lots of pubs, bars and music venues. This street really comes alive in the summer with the Mississippi Street Festival, typically held on a Saturday, mid July. Definitely do a search and put the date in your calendar. The street is lined with vendors selling food, jewelry, handmade items and crafts. At different points along Mississippi, there are stages set up with several bands performing throughout the day and evening. All for free! N. Mississippi is definitely a Portland vibe and gem!
