We were assured in writing that the ceilings would be taken care of by the day of my wedding. I asked for updates all year and was told every time "they're not done yet, but don't worry, it will get done by your wedding day," Spoiler: that did not happen Ceilings aside, there were good and bad things about this experience. On the day of the rehearsal, my foot fell through a rotten plank of wood and they immediately remedied that which was amazing. Our advisor was very kind and helpful throughout the experience and answered our endless questions. The day of the wedding, however, our advisor was not scheduled to be working, so he was not there and the only staff who were there had not met us before and, due to a language barrier, had a very tough time communicating our needs. Several things went wrong the day-of like no electricity in the ceremony space, tables and chairs incorrectly laid out (several guests had nowhere to sit), and those ceilings were still unfinished (also wasps live in the insulation and attacked one of my bridesmaids). We brought up these concerns to our advisor and never received a response. Like, for weeks. We followed up. Nothing. Then, we get a check in the mail which IMO was not for enough money, but still no communication. It's like the customer service relationship immediately ends on the day of the wedding. Just bizarre. If they ever fix these ceilings, I'd say book it and ensure that your advisor will be working the day of your wedding.

I had a venue booked for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary... then came COVID…read more The venue cut to 50% capacity, which made it too small. I had to cancel and re-think everything. The venue needed to be large enough to accommodate distancing, catering and food service was sketchy since many places closed, local restrictions were fluid and I didn't live in the city where the event would be held. At one point, I thought we wouldn't be able to celebrate more than having a small dinner. It was discouraging. Then I found Milestone Memories and Events. I had a good feeling about Geri after our first phone call. The second call confirmed my initial impression. I needed someone with experience and good judgment that I could trust for advice. After all, large events take hundreds of decisions and bad choices can create bad experiences for all the guests. To give context, the guest list was 250 people. Given the circumstances, I estimated 100-150 would attend. The final RSVP count came in at 140. This was not a small event and we pulled it off in four months! Here are just a few highlights of my great experience with Milestone Memories: - We developed a budget, and came in under - They got to know us and designed decor and settings to match (my mom loved everything!) - Everything LOOKED AMAZING, tables, center pieces, lighting, photo backdrop, entry tables - All the logistics like how people enter, move, exit, accounting for seating, everything was great - They found the venue, catering, music and negotiated many details so I only made major decisions. I can't tell you how important that is because it can be overwhelming dealing with multiple contracts when the event is personal. - They took care of my parents and were so thoughtful of all their needs on the day of the event - Excellent communication throughout Geri and her staff are genuine, caring people and I'm so thankful we met. Don't misunderstand, she's a skilled project manager and straight forward communicator that will take care of business! What I mean is she thought of details that I could never have thought of. For example, she created a space for my parents to rest before the event and stocked it with a beautiful snack tray. She arranged a "Grand Entrance" which turned out amazing. My parents had a "first dance", and I mean they had never danced in public before, even at their wedding. This was Geri's idea and it made such an impact! This is the longest review I've written and it is still too short. What a great 4 month journey this was with Geri to create such a memorable celebration for my parents! People are still talking about it a week later. I still get emails and texts complimenting how great it was, and we have the best pictures to help us remember. We were very disappointed in the service we received on the day of the event, as well as with some…read moreof the interactions we had before hand. The food itself was very good, and their chef is friendly and talanted. However, the planner and on-site contact made several of my guests highly uncomfortable during the event and made us uncomfortable during the planning process more than once. There were things we wanted that they simply told us could not happen (we wanted toppers but the store they prefer to shop in was out of them, so we had to use runners instead), the coordinator didn't read the table diagram or seating list, so the Bride had to place numbers on the tables on the day of the event. Worst of all, the staff was in a *huge* hurry to clean up and leave the venue. In the case of the bride & groom, their plates were removed while they were being congratulated, even though both plates were still half full. Guests felt rushed and in the way, as the staff broke down and packed up items in front of them, including favors, thank you cards, charger plates, linens & decor. People who arrived late found empty reception tables, decor being packed up - all while we still had dozens of guests. PLUS they forgot to bring 7 linens and had to go home for them (and told me I should have given them credit for going to get thm last minute). Even though the venue was booked until midnight & their contract stated they were supposed to clean and check all the rooms for garbage, left over items, etc, the caterers were long gone well before 10pm - before the couple departed. As a result, items were left behind, and the couple had to arrange to go and pick everything up after the ceremony. When we told them of our disappointment and that 5 different people complained about the staff (including a vendor), I was told I was a liar and that there was nothing to be done about it. Bottom line? Great food, not so great management, poor attention to detail, unprofessional communications. Would NOT recommend.
