But it was still pretty significant damage with about five rafters crushed along with part of the roof, and the whole line of gutters across the front of the house destroyed. I called Optimal and they came out that day. The quote was fair enough and they set a time to come out and do the work. There was a slight scare with weather on the appointed day, but they finally agreed to come out as I had the power turned off for the work. They came out and got it done. Very good job. I'll certainly call them again when we need a new roof or the like.

He has never charged much, and in fact with the first repair, I had to insist that he allow me to pay him. Because of his integrity and courtesy, I had him handle the insurance-paid replacement of a roof on one of the rentals that had Atlas shingles. After doing an initial, no-cost, inspection, he met with the adjuster on very short notice, and actually did the on-the-roof work for the adjuster while the adjuster stood in the yard below. Jeff and his crew put on the new roof, replacing more of the OSB than expected, and did some additional work at no extra charge. It looks great, and the tenants are delighted. They said he was very professional (which I already knew he would be), and he and his crew left the place really clean. I couldn't be happier with Jeff's work. He's very patient, his pricing is very reasonable, and he does excellent, high-quality, work. He shows up when he says he will, which is important. We had been watching house after house in our neighborhood getting new roofs and started examining…read moreour own roof for signs of needing replacement all the while hoping that we didn't because of the price. The day that a house behind ours began repairs was very windy. The owner Shannon McDaniel noticed our shingles lifting with the wind and offered to look at our roof and since my husband and I had already been discussing our possible need for a new roof, I agreed. After the inspection he told me that we had storm damage. This is our first house and we had not even entertained the thought of storm damage even though most of the roof repairs in our neighborhood started right after hurricane Irma blew through the state. He had taken pictures of the damage to show me and explained to me why he thought it was due to strong winds. He encouraged me to contact my insurance agent to have one of their adjusters come out and give their opinion. Two days later my insurance adjuster came and Mr. McDaniel took time to come by also. My adjuster had worked with Mr. McDaniel before so within an hour I had approval for a new roof and a check in my hand for the repairs. Two weeks later I had a beautiful new roof. The crew was awesome. They did everything. They moved our trampoline out of the way. They worked quickly and respectfully. My insurance company had to come and inspected for them to replace it (they should have known not to place those tiles in the first place). Then they came to replace it and damage the wild animal guards I had around the roof and squirrels got in. When I started asking for compensation, we had a couple of emails and phone exchanges after which they stop responding....I'm still waiting for my compensation!!! Please use your money wisely, I thought if I spent more I would have better quality service and I ended up with damage and a contractor that has stopped responding to me or willing to compensate for damage and time.
