wanted to take a moment to share my experience with Tristan, who has been trimming my beard for the past year. If you are on the lookout for a skilled and meticulous barber, I highly recommend giving Tristan a try. Before discovering Tristan, I had tried several barbershops in Katy that claimed to be beard trimming experts, but none of them have matched the level of care and precision that Tristan provides. He always takes the time to ensure my beard looks great, and his attention to detail is unparalleled. Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you give him a chance. Your beard will thank you! read more

Tristan is a master barber and understands what is best for his clients. I also appreciate his military background and attention to detail. I like to say "you get what you pay for", well worth the price if you like to look good. Great cup of coffee in the studio as well! read more

Thanks for your updated reply, Tristan. It was YOU. As stated in my initial review, I purposely sought you out based on the previous reviews I've read that mentioned your name. Nice try, though. I appreciate your attempt to dismiss my review as being anything less than authentic 4+ years later. Anyway, 4 years x haircut every 2 weeks = 104+ haircuts ago, and the one I received from you is still by far the worst. Take care, sir. read more

I saw this "shop" on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I am not opposed to a $65.00 shave and haircut but I did feel it was a bit excessive. He did a good job on the haircut and the shave but didn't touch my goatee and mustache and it also did not include a shampoo, both of which, are services that I usually get for that kind of money. I actually was willing to entertain that things had just gone up and I might have to either pay more or live without those items. When it came time to pay, he sent me a text with a link, I clicked on it and it took me to an app/web page called StyleSeat. I was not used to it and I felt a bit rushed, but the app was trying to squeeze a tip out of me. It said that if I didn't leave one, it would add 20% but it would add the 20% in 24 hours. At that point, I was satisfied that I could re-visit the transaction later (after my wife gave my hair the once over) and make a decision on a gratuity. I will be honest, I think that a proprietor should not be tipped, but I was on the fence because he was renting a chair, I enjoyed the experience and if the cut was well done, I intended to come back. So in my mind, the plan was to decide on the tip later . No sooner than when I got the air on in my car, I was charged $78.00. I called Tristan and told him what I was charged. He said that they added the 20% tip. I said, but I did not leave a tip. He wrote "that if you'd like to come back inI will refund you the money on StyleSeat, and the charge you the $65.00 on Square. I didn't like the feeling of this app assumptively encouraging me to tip, and I am not saying Tristan was deceitful, but I made the decision not to go back in because I knew he was already giving another cut and I did not want to have an uncomfortable conversation in front of a stranger, so I let it go. Retrospectively, maybe a better system for payment or at least an explanation up front for us old guys. That and take the two minutes to trim my beard. The search continues. read more

I got my hair done by Tristan, and it was absolutely the best. You definitely need to make an appointment if you want your hair done by him because his schedule is always full. But even so, Tristan took his time cutting my hair, paid close attention to details, and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. I also had my two year old with me. Even though my son was rambunctious, Tristan was super kind and understanding! I definitely found my GO TO barber! read more

Tristan's Traditional Barbering - Barbers Near Me - Katy, Texas

I had my first of what will be many appointments with Tristan today. I was late getting to my appointment and Tristan very graciously cut my hair despite my tardiness. Tristan is very knowledgeable about his craft and it's demonstrated in his technique and detail oriented approach to what he did for me today. I have a feeling that had I not been late that the haircut I had would have been even better than it is and it's one of the best I've had in a very long time. I lived with average haircuts at best for many years- unaware that I needed something better until I had it. I will be back and on time. read more

If you're looking for a traditional barber cut, look no further. Tristan has impecable attention to detail and military precision that only comes with experience and expertise. This isn't someone who will simply run a clipper up the side of your head. Very professional, and will deliver what you ask for. The shop can be easily missed if you aren't paying attention, as the strip mall it's located in is perpendicular to Grand Parkway. Everyone else is extremely friendly, and you can play pool while you wait. read more

My first time there and I didn't know what to expect. Tristan is a traditional barber. but he used several techniques that I wasn't acquainted with. After I got home where I could see the results better, I decided that it was the best haircut that I've ever gotten in my life and I'm 71 years old. This is where I'm going to from now on. read more

I've been coming to Tristan for my last few haircuts. The first time he cut my hair, my usual person had to cancel on me and referred me to Tristan. I was in a panic as it was 2 days before my wedding, but he was understanding and was able to fit me in his schedule. He did a great job on my hair, even better than my old person, and I now come to Tristan every time. read more

I have been coming to Tristan for nearly a year now. I started going to the storefront, Giftedhands Barbershop, where he runs his barbering, Tristan's Traditional Barbering. His attention to detail is what brings me back. He is punctual, precise and has a certain style that really sets other barbers apart. I don't think I have ever had a barber that is so meticulous at perfection. He is a great conversationalist and will make your experience very enjoyable. His work shows the passion that he has in barbering. I would highly recommend Tristan to everyone of all ages. read more

My baby boy was ready for his first haircut. I heard about this place thru a recommendation fr my babysitters NextDoor app. Called at 10 in the morning while i still had the courage to cut off all his beautiful hair. Tristan answered immediately, answered all my ?s calmly and patiently and fit us in a mere hour later. He has the patience of a saint, a great demeanor for kidlets and was accommodating and kind to a reluctant and teary eyed momma. He did an amazing and QUICk job and i couldn't be any more pleased. He's got a customer for life. read more

Review from a 10 year old boy: Tristan is a very good barber. He uses new tools and lots of skill to make people happy. He will do anything to give people good haircuts and make people comfortable. Mr. Tristan is a wonder in this world. He has very good experience with cutting hair and does it very well and fast. Everyone should go to Mr. Tristan to get their hair cut. 5 stars! Review from Mom: My son has Autism and has always had issues with haircuts. He has always complained that it hurts whenever anyone tries to trim his hair. Over the years, his tolerance improved a bit with age, but it was still an uncomfortable experience. All that changed the day we found Tristan! After our first appointment, my son said he would go to Tristan every day for a haircut if he could! That brought this Mama to tears. Tristan is patient, kind, and understanding. He takes time to explain what he's doing and what comes next. My son never complained or had any discomfort. My husband has started going to Tristan as well and says it's the best haircut he's ever gotten. Tristan, you have us as customers for life! read more

I went there a few days back and it was the best haircut I have received in the area in a long time. Tristan cut my hair and trimmed my beard and it was perfect. He spends a great amount of time making sure you are edge up correctly. The atmosphere is super friendly and barbershop talk and debates were happening in a very good way. I am going to make this my regular barbershop when I am in that part of town! read more

Got my first haircut from Tristan today and I can't recommend him highly enough! I've been going to the big box store places and finally decided to use a traditional barber after being dissatisfied with "so-so" haircuts. Tristan took his time and it was the best haircut I have had in a long, long time. I'll be using him regularly going forward! read more

So glad that I was referred to this new barber by a friend. Tristan is super friendly and professional. He asks all the right questions and gives a superior cut, trim, shave. The venue, Gifted Hands, also has a cool vibe. I would highly recommend! read more

I was charged a late fee for both of my sons because he did not have the time to provide an extra service that I asked for a week in advance. He notified me the day of appt that he may not be able to provide the service. I wish I would have known that ahead of time and I would have cancelled earlier. It was a great way to take my $30 though. I would have thought the right thing to do is not charge me. We are headed to the Little League World Series and is was important for my 9 year old boys to have their baseball numbers etched into their hair. Since he could not guarantee to do the extra service I had to cancel. When I signed up for the appt I did not see that I had to order the extra service but I did mention it in notes. I understand that he wants to stay on time but I feel he could have done a better job of letting me know beforehand so I could cancel and appt process could have been more user friendly. Luckily I was able to find a barber last minute to help us. Thank you for the late charge. It is much appreciated. read more

This review has been a long time coming! Been to Tristan prob 4 times now for a haircut and once for a shave and I have nothing but good things to say. You can tell he's passionate about what he does, really detail oriented and knowledgeable about his craft. The razor cut I get is top notch, the shave was exactly what a traditional hot lather shave should be like and all the products he uses are high quality - I walk out smelling great! read more
