She is so sweet and so accommodating on top of being the best baker to execute vegan and gluten free cakes and cupcakes with perfection! Seriously!! You would not know if it was vegan or gluten free! She does not miss a beat with moist, flavorful, delicious treats! Her vegan buttercream is amazing! Our family favorite flavors for cakes and cupcakes is strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and lemon poppyseed. Her store is so cute and the color scheme is just as vibrant as her bubbly personality that is so welcoming as her contagious smile! From coconut to classic strawberry or even mango, your taste buds will be in for a sweet treat. The have cakes which really do look like pieces of art and more importantly the flavor is their to compliment the visuals. These cakes are a bit pricey but for context we had one cake and there was still more than 3/5 left after serving slices to eight people. I really liked the to-go presentation and how secured it was. Made it a lot easier to transport with.

The last time I ordered a cake was just this week. I ordered a birthday cake for my mom. I've baked her cakes in the past but I wanted something super nice and creative. My cakes taste alright but the presentation is sometimes questionable. Lol. April can create pretty much anything, especially if you give her a photo. I'm always impressed with her creativity! Most of my family members are diehard Dallas Cowboys fans (myself included!). My mom is probably one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans I know so I went with this theme. She collects Dallas Cowboys mementos and pretty much anything she can get her hands on. I found a photo of a similar Dallas Cowboys cake. April added more detail to my mom's cake than I expected! My first discovery was Belle Sucre, which, while struggling ever so slightly with actual french pastries (and french grammar, "sucre," a masculine noun, being "beau," not "belle"), excels at putting a french twist on american desserts. My second discovery was Orange Peel, a pastry shop that could stand toe-to-toe with Montreal's more eclectic (and less traditional) pastry shops (e.g., Pâtisserie Rhubarbe), were it to spontaneously relocate there. Inside this diminutive (but oh so quaint) pastry shop stands a refrigerated glass display filled with triple-threat confections that a) are simultaneously playful and homey in appearance, b) demonstrate exquisite texture (a feat made all the more surprising by the fact that many of the confections are gluten-free), and c) feature creatively combined and expertly balanced flavours that bring into play natural aromas and just enough sweetness. (Indeed, in a rare show of restraint for an american dessert establishment, sweetness is here kept on a leash, letting instead aromas come to the forefront of the flavour experience.) Although pastries on offer change regularly, they always come across as completely thought-through and carefully put-together, as if the recipes had been worked on and perfected over years. Indeed, there is an effortless quality to how the one single chef behind Orange Peel comes up with and executes new recipes, one that testifies to the extent of her pastry passion, knowledge, and skills. Why would I drive all the way back to that side of town when I'm home , so now I'm stuck with a bag I purchased that I didn't have to buy if she would of informed me pretty much stealing my money definitely considering I'm not going back after this experience .
