I had been following Amanda's work for over a year before booking a session for my daughter. I booked two different sessions for my daughter and this is how it went. One session - Disney themed. Amanda was very communicative and let me/us (everyone scheduled for the shoot) know that she was having difficulty with props, set and the new Covid regulations (things had just opened back up) and that she was going to try the set again but ultimately if it wasn't going to look perfect she would cancel. She did cancel and honestly I think that shows a lot of integrity. She could have easily done the shoot and pocketed the money but instead canceled and provided an immediate refund. You can't be mad at that, I was impressed by her honesty and perfectionism and pride in her work. The second shoot which did happen was outside at a park with a unicorn. Amanda is very open and honest in her communication about what you can expect from her and what she expects from you. Mix a live animal, children and parents and a lot can go wrong. So I appreciate her laying it all out beforehand. The timeslots are not long so it doesn't make sense to sit and pepper her with questions. Her job is to take the pictures and direct the child. She was polite and that's exactly what I expected. If your expectation is that she stands there and chit chats with you and confers on each shot, you're going to be disappointed. I've had some pretty negative experiences with other photographers - that are not associated with TVS, so I'm happy to have found this company. I think it's always good to manage your expectations. My kid smiles weird - I know this. I am well aware she smiles like a crazy person. So I do not expect her to all of a sudden have a natural smile when Amanda photographs her, it simply won't happen and I'm ok with it. The moment has been captured and we look back and kind of laugh. Ultimately, you know your child and know if they're going to make it through a shoot or not. This woman is not supernanny, it's just not her job or responsibility to make sure your child complies. The experience is what you make of it. read more

Got the "all about mommy" photoshoot done as a surprise for my husband. Took way too long for edits to come back almost five weeks. I was about to give birth any day and she never sent any sneak peeks so I had to just hope they would turn out good. I was stressed I might not have even liked them. This was my first pregnancy and wanted special photos. I had to keep reaching out to her to get them. Super unprofessional in my option especially for the price of these photos. Amanda is a great photographer! I did my maternity and newborn sessions with her for my son and was amazed at the quality of the editing she did! Everyone loves all my pics. I have reviewed Amanda once before and I will review her again to sing her praises. Amanda with Triple Vision Studios is ah-maz-ing. She has been our family photographer for about four years now. My girls love going to see her for pictures, which is so important to get good photographs since they are happy and comfortable during the session. Amanda has taken the time to get to know my family and who we are, which also reflects in the images she captures. Amanda takes her time editing our family pictures, so yes, there is a few weeks before we get our pictures. This is not a one hour photo place by any means (which is so important to understand! She is taking time creating beautiful images!) I love that I can book full sessions yearly to update our pictures and other smaller sessions for the holidays for fun images of my daughters. read more

Amanda Gates at Triple Vision Studios is our family photographer and we are in love with her work! We met Amanda in February 2013 when she did newborn pictures for our son. She was soooo patient with him and took the time she needed to get my son relaxed enough to get into that perfect position or pose that makes her photos so unique. Her newborn sessions take around 3 hours and she is working the entire time to capture all the sweet moments of your newborn baby. Amanda has also done family pictures for my family of 4 at an outdoor location. Those came out great as well even though my kids were not that cooperative. She managed to catch several photos that I will cherish forever that I did not think could happen the way my kids were during the session. She really has an eye for catching that split second moment on camera. Our most recent experience was just a couple weeks ago when she did a cake smash session in her studio for my son's 1st birthday. She had great suggestions on the backgrounds and poses for my son and I got my photos back quickly as promised. Amanda's pricing is very reasonable as I have compared it to several other local photographers. Booked a photo session with Amanda. Communication was a challenge from the start. Six times out of ten, she did not respond. Four times out of ten, the response was slow (taking between 10 hours - 7 days to respond). The photos turned out okay. But I can't recommend her services based on the poor response time. So for that reason I would not hire her again. It might help if she invested in an answering service to handle calls and emails from her clients. read more

I agree with some of the reviews on here. Here's my unbiased take: Pros: - she's a decent photographer - tons of props and outfits for newborns - although I haven't done an outdoor shoot with her, I've seen her work and it looks good Cons: - pricey - service and attitude stinks. You're treated like you're inconveniencing her when it should be the other way around. Example 1: texting me if I'm still showing up for the shoot because I was her only client that day and she didn't want to go in if she didn't have to. While that's understandable, I think it's part of owning a business to be there for your clients. As a healthcare professional, I get no-shows all the time and though I don't condone them, I don't confront my patients on whether they plan to show - that's not really appropriate. Plus I never had a history of flaking on Amanda, so I thought it was presumptuous to suggest I may not show. In other words, I think confirming our appointment could have been done more tactfully and professionally by actually *confirming.* Example 2: apparently my baby was "the most difficult baby of the year." I got some shots of her looking constipated. Amanda's response is she can't control the way my baby will act. While that's true, I wish there was more flexibility like rescheduling our shoot. I felt super rushed and like I was inconveniencing her for not having a cooperative baby..coupled with trying to finish the shoot during the optimal daylight hours. Anyway, I don't think she deserves 1 star because she DID produce a decent finished product despite how "difficult" my baby was. I'm being generous saying that bc my baby had jaundice and the color correction was to un-yellow everything which just turns the pictures reddish and washed out (white). I'm not a hugely picky person but in this case I just didn't feel I was getting the service that her price deserves read more

We had family photos taken on November 14th which I received on Dec. 7th. I was so excited to have Amanda take our pictures. However, after receiving our final product I was very disappinted. I understand we are not super models but I expected flattering poses and photo processing. We received neither. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction to Amanda she said she doesn't offer refunds and can't control the facial expressions of adults and offered no resolution. Her customer service is extremely poor and the quality of her photos was lacking. I think Amanda does not have enough time to put the quality into her work. Very disappointed especially when I've seen her do better. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel like I was left no choice. read more

Amanda has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I handed her my baby and she did everything while I took a much needed nap!! We were unable to get the last shot because my baby woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep so she offered for us to come back at another time. When we did return, he of course woke up but she patiently worked with us to get him back to sleep (for only 60 seconds) but we got the shot!!
