She is a kind spirited person and really awesome/patient with kids of all ages. Her classes are fun and creative. My daughter always had something beautiful to bring home, and alot of them are hung up in her room at our new place :) Art classes can get expensive but i find Allison's fees to be very reasonable and it is for an hour and a half...Unfortunately we moved out of SL and the classes had to stop, if we were any closer, i would sign my daughter up for her classes in a heart beat! There is a beautiful garden and a play structure right in front of her school, another plus!

I saw a sign for a children's art camp and took the opportunity to enrich my little peanut who goes through paper like a bag of Doritos with a little formal instruction. The camp lasted a week, three hours daily, and concluded with a celebratory art show and family friendly picnic. The instructor, Allison, is a talented life long artist from a family of artists, who currently runs the day to day functions of the park along with the school in the rear building. She is amazing with rowdy smocked children running amok flinging actual paint and canvases--not washable fingerpaint, but wear your play garb for a genuine, stain inducing introduction to techniques of fine art. My daughter came home with a bagful of illustrations of every animal known to man, a finished canvas, and a memory of an experience she wants to repeat again. Fortunately, the school offers both after school programs during the year and multiple sessions in the summer. Additionally, there are adult classes--one in the late afternoon and another on Wednesday evenings that I recently decided to dip my 'haven't painted in 20 years palette' into. It's been a fabulous three classes so far. A traditional art curriculum with warm ups, exercises in charcoal still life's, cross hatching, scratch etching, and sustained work on oil canvas. Allison knows when to give guidance and when to let you figure out brush strokes on your own. I'm learning to ride my "artist" bike all over again and enjoying every challenging, creative moment. I highly recommend this obscure little school in San Leandro. I hope it grows like the garden it's situated in.

I shared my concerns with Mr. Lawrence about the challenges we were facing both at school and at home. He reassured me not to worry and said he would help my son. In the beginning, Ayden struggled a lot. He couldn't stay in his chair for even five minutes without getting up. Mr. Lawrence took the time to have a serious talk with him about the importance of focusing and doing his work. Throughout the process, Mr. Lawrence was patient and understanding of what Ayden was going through. He truly cared. Over time, he became like an extra father figure not only to Ayden but to many of the kids at PEL Tutoring. Mr. Lawrence and his wife genuinely care about the well-being of the children in their program. In just the last few months, my son has improved so much. I 100% stand by PEL Tutoring -- it is absolutely worth it.

My daughter has been learning progressively through iBest's curriculum and enrichment courses and I truly think that her public school education alone would not get her to where she is now. She often recites or sings what she learned here, which goes to show how much she enjoys the learning process. I always feel confident knowing that her after school teachers are helping her learn beyond her school curriculum and setting her up for academic success. I'm often busy to check her homework but when I do, I'm amazed at how much she has learned within a few weeks. In addition to their academic program, I really appreciate the staff's genuine care. Jessica, Annie, Yiping, and Lan-- they are all great and superb with their communication in-person, via email, or phone. I can feel that they prioritize the safety and well-being of my child, for example, by calling me to double confirm if someone picked her up from school when they heard from their driver that I had texted for no pick-up that day. Also, I'm not sure how they keep up with the details but they somehow manage to remember what she brought to school that day (stuffed doll, what type of outerwear - jacket/cardigan, her water bottle, etc). They also check to make sure my kid finished her packed lunch at school; if not they help heat it up for her to finish. Lastly, I'm sure working parents would be thrilled to know that iBest has been really great about opening and offering childcare on days that public schools (randomly) close. They are open pretty much all year with the exception of major holidays. This is our first year of public school and I've heard from other working parents about the complexity of finding multiple weekly summer programs- but I'm so grateful that iBest provides all of this. It brings every parent a peace of mind!

IBest made it a smooth transition for my daughter. They offer plenty of activities and books. Small classes bring a lot attention to each student. They teach advanced stuff outside the public school curriculum. Specially designed Chinese class and math class are included in the tuition. I get to meet the teacher whenever request and communicate about my child's performance. The staff also watch the little kids closely to make sure they finish their lunch and drink plenty of water, which is a big release for me. We fully trust the teachers and staff there to take care our kid. The only problem is, my daughter doesn't want to go home when I pick her up :)

The coach here are truly among the best -- knowledgeable, patient, and inspiring. My daughter has learned self-defense skills, discipline, and confidence, and she's now proudly earning her fifth belt. I couldn't be more proud of her progress. The staff is friendly, the academy is clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. Kung Fu itself is not just a sport here -- it's about building focus, respect, confidence, and physical fitness. I would highly recommend East West KungFu Academy to everyone, whether your child is just starting out or looking to advance their skills.

I was worried having to pay around $400 and my little one asking to bail after 1-2 class. Writing this now, I can say that I worried for nothing. My little full of energy girl loves going to her kungfu class. She looks forward and asked every morning if she has kungfu class or not. Within a month, I can see that she is able to follow along the other kids whom had been there longer than mine has. All staff are very friendly and I can see while waiting outside how the kids are enjoying their time learning from the Xifu and his assistants. I just wish they are located next to FoodNet or SanChong so I can do some grocery shopping while waiting for the kid to finish kungfu class.
