We have used Triple State in Arlington several times in the past with generally good but expensive service. Most recently, we had them turn off the water in an outdoor shower last November to avoid freezing issues we had when we did it ourselves. Given some health issues my husband had, we asked them to come back and do the turn-on. That resulted in the same problems we've had with water leakage requiring more work. They agreed to return and then ghosted us. They won't return calls and today when I called again, they hung on me. Looking at others' reviews, this is not a reliable establishment. read more

We had 2 toilets with different problems. Called Triple State Plumbing in the morning. Within a couple of hours Maritzio and Rod were at our door. Each one went to work. Within a half an hour the work was successfully completed. I was told their hourly/1/2 hourly charge in advance so there was no pricing surprises. So we used TripleStatePlumbing back when I needed some work to the shower. While they were perfectly nice in completing the service, I noticed a difference as strong as night and day in the temperature of the water beginning immediately after they left. The water was no longer able to stay cold, and this literally happened overnight from the time that they did the work. Well, it sucked, but life is busy and we all have priorities, so this wasn't emergency level urgent. Still, they did mess it up, and when we needed services a year later, I had the landlord reach back out to Dawn, explaining this, assuming that they take responsibility for the poor quality of work that they did. From the landlord's copy of the communications, Dawn agreed, despite attempting to invalidate their role and citing other factors like the water pressure in the building for the overnight difference in my showers functioning. You guys messed up my shower. Maybe the mixing valves? I'm not the expert, but after a second of running the water gets warm and you have to continuously reposition the knob to get one second of cold. This change happened as of your July 2020 visit. Then, you said you'd look at it which is why we chose you to invite back for the shut off valve issue, and you didn't. Anyway, the two stars is for messing up my shower, then for having poor enough internal communication to agree to take a look at it and then not. read more

What a great company! They work in my building regularly so I got the company name from my property manager. I called as an emergency as my beyond clogged toilet overflowed and I needed it unclogged as soon as possible. Within an hour of my call, the experts showed up and within minutes had my toilet unclogged. The mark of an excellent family business! I also anticipate a large cost as an emergency and not so much. They are a great company to deal with and I highly recommend their services. I will be utilizing them again and again and recommending them as well. The Triple State warranty listed on the receipt is this: LABOR WARRANTY: 1 YEAR - NO WARRANTY on stoppages of any kind. There is no written warranty information for parts they use. I called Triple State on Monday, 12/4/23, to see if they could install a new kitchen faucet on Wed. morning, 12/6/23. (It was to be delivered the previous day.) The woman who answered said sure, told me their hourly rate, and gave me an arrival time of 9-12 am. Two guys, Mauricio & Brian, arrived about 9:17am and got right to work. They were congenial, professional, installed the faucet in about 45 min., and they didn't complain about the tight working space (see photo) under the sink--unlike a previous plumber who'd been there on Saturday to unclog the sink drain. THAT plumber (who inexplicably had good reviews) reluctantly gave us a minimum price (that was way too high) for clearing the drain, but refused to give us even an hourly rate or rough estimate for installing a new faucet (saying he doesn't give estimates over the phone), even though he'd removed and replaced the old one to unclog the drain (why, we don't know). He complained about the below-sink cabinet doors, removed them to unclog the drain, and then re-attached them. But we discovered (after he left) that they now scrape against each other when opened. Brian also told us the screws are stripped so the doors can no longer be removed. (We're waiting for THAT plumber to come back and fix the doors.) Bottom Line: We're grateful for Triple State's (Mauricio & Brian's) "No Drama!" efficient job well done at a reasonable price. Highly Recommend! Lessons Learned: 1) Always get estimates over the phone and/or via email (I called at least 5 plumbers and All readily told us their rates or gave us an estimate); 2) Compare at least three estimates before hiring (as recommended by Checkbook Magazine) for good reviews and reasonable pricing; 3) Don't be in a rush to hire a newly-licensed plumber just because he agrees to work on a Saturday (I called a plumber in Checkbook Magazine who referred me to the problem plumber, who used to work for him); 4) Make sure the plumber you hire does not have to travel too far and/or doesn't complain about working in your zip code. (Though he initially said Reston was in his service area, the problem plumber told us we now have to wait for him to line up a job near here, since he doesn't want to make a special trip to fix the doors.) read more

If you need any sort of plumbing done, you need to give Triple State Plumbing a call. They are fantastic!!! Aaron and Sam took care of us and they were so great. Aaron is a Master Plumber and he really knows his stuff. He was able to diagnose a big problem for us, figure out a solution, and execute it quickly. So impressive! They are quick and efficient but very detail oriented and check and double check everything. The customer service is so wonderful - Aaron and Sam are so friendly, personable, and funny. They are also polite and professional too. You'll feel so comfortable having them in your home and they will definitely take good care of you and are careful to protect your floors too. Don't trust this company. I had water leaking from ceiling and I called them. They gave me an estimation for the job on same day and it was reasonable. I accepted and told them to do the job. Technician said he doesn't have the tools now will come back in two days. He came back again and did the job. I confirmed the price again with him before the job. Couple days later I received an overcharged bill (doubled price then what I was told). Still dealing with them for the payment. Be careful what they tell you and what they charge you. Plumbers seemed to have been "recruited" by community leadership (the ones who tug on the purse strings of condo-fee coffers) to relay information about the interior condition and attributes of my home and my mother's home next door. I was eventually contacted by these people about a separate issue and was met with blatant indifference about the issue at hand by a rather rude woman with a raspy voice. Found the leak first thing in the morning and looked up recommended plumbers on Nextdoor and Triple State came up. Called a different plumber that opened earlier, but couldn't come until the afternoon. Reached Triple State and they put me on the books for within an hour of when I called. Jorge and Chris came and fixed the problem very quickly and pointed out something I wasn't aware of regarding my reversed water shut off valve. I have used several different plumbers through the years, and none measured up to Triple State Plumbing. I caused a flood in my bathroom that seeped into the laundry room below. I had to have the water turned off by the county. I called Triple State, rated for quality and price in Checkbook, and since the water was turned off, a crew came to my house after they finished the job they were on when I called. My disaster started at 9 AM, and by 12:30 PM, it was over, thanks to Jeff and Jorge. In addition to repairing my mistake, they replaced non-working handles on the house emergency water turn-off and on the sink water turn-off. Additionally, they installed a pressure-reducing device for water from the street into the house that no longer met code. I am delighted. read more

We had to go with another plumbing company which cost us $1500. All these guys do is the bare minimum. They didn't check our clean out or run a snake from the top of the house. They should have seen the problem and told us they didn't have the capability to fix. Instead they just said it was baby wipes. The other plumber said there were no wipes, just an old pipe with lots of build up that required multiple snakings to fully clear. He said these guys just poked a hole in the clog so it could drain, but obviously didn't know what they were doing. read more

They are HORRIBLE at coordinating times. My neighbor beneath me had problems with a leak. The called me over the course of two days to get someone in my unit, but would always show up and never set a specific time. They would ask me to leave work at the drop of a dime -NOT!!! My husband and I do most of our small plumbing work ourselves--leaking faucets, replacement waste disposals and the like take lots of our time but we learn by doing them. Then after the very bad rainstorm 3 weeks ago, our basement flooded from the drain at the bottom of the outside basement steps. I called Triple State and three other plumbers with high ratings on Washington Checkbook. Triple State were the first to call back -- and could come the next day to clear the drain -- 50 feet of cable and cutter head brought out a root [photos provided] and the drain then worked properly. Completed at a fixed price for 1 hours work. Yesterday, only 3 weeks later, we realized our mains stop tap had started dripping. Triple State came this morning and replaced the stop tap with a single 90 degree turn tap [the old one was a screw tap] and re-sited the tap at eye height rather than the 9 inches off the floor of the old tap. Work completed in an hour. I don't know if any plumbers beat their hourly rate, but Triple State are reliable and do the job well. read more

They were so great to work with. I called about a leak in my ceiling that a previous plumber (recommended by my condo mgmt office) had patched. The patch didn't work and I was still getting a leak. I called Triple State on Thursday and they asked for pictures so they knew what materials they would need (The last guy had to make a Home Depot run and didn't even fix the problem!). I sent photos on Friday morning and we scheduled an appointment for Tuesday (after I tried requesting same day service). They called me back Friday afternoon to say they had an unexpected opening and asked if I was available. The guys showed up at the expected time and cranked out the work. This review is late, but better late than never. My washer (that was less than 4 months old) supposedly had a hose burst and flooded my place. I needed a plumber ASAP! I called them and they came out same day. My condo building building engineer (who is not a plumber) told me that I'd need to make an expensive fix, but the master plumber from Triple State told me that it was unnecessary and only requires a simple fix of which they completed on the spot and at an affordable price. Triple State Plumbing does work for my condo in Arlington and every time I've used them, I've received excellent service. My kitchen sink was filling up with water from the units above me due to a clog within the building pipes. I called Triple State around 7PM and they swung by and snaked out the clog and were out the door by 8PM. Definitely fast and reliable service. I don't write reviews all that often, but I believe their great work deserves to be recognized. I'd recommend them for anyone that has any plumbing issue. read more

The plumbers at Triple State are friendly and very professional. If they were the ones running the show, I'd be giving Triple State 5 stars every time. My condo has polybuteline pipes. I've had two leaks and both times plumbers came out and fixed it that same day. If you're in a jam, these guys are great. When it comes to scheduled services though, these guys are a mess. I requested a quote to replace my pipes with PVC or copper. Despite several emails and calls, Triple State failed to provide me with a quote. I'm not sure if this was just a particularly busy season for them and I fell through the cracks, but I was very disappointed. They came highly recommended by my condo's property manager, but due to the lack of responsiveness, I'll probably be going elsewhere to get new pipes installed. read more
