Horrible experience with this company. I planned on building an outdoor living area in my backyard when I turned to this company for the roofing material. I gave the employee the measurements of the material in which I needed and when it was delivered it was over-sized. The employee took my measurements and covereted them himself incorrectly. I requested the material be returned and re-ordered. It is now been almost a year , in and out of small claims court and still no material. read more

First, I went in to look for some material for my new awning over my deck...I asked what was in stock and was told that only the white material was in stock...OK great..I will take it...I was told it would be ready after 3 pm....ok great!! I went back after 3...waited for 25 minutes for someone to ask me what they could help me with...No takers so I went in and told them I was outside waiting...I was told then that YES..."We have the material to make it...just not the finished product"...WTF!!!?? I was told it would be ready to go in 2 weeks...I made the call to confirm that today would be the day...Yup...Great!! Thinking that today would be the day as per the sales guy and paying the extra $60, I took the day off to get my metal roofing material delivered...I spent all weekend getting everything ready. Again, I stayed home to accept the delivery...So....I am in sales and am usually all over the state...No call...no show...I made the call to them to find out what was going on...They said that they had not had time to process the delivery...again...WTF!!??? So it looks like now I will need to take another day off..or at least a couple of hours to make sure that the material gets put in a safe place and it is not damaged when it gets to my residents. Sorry guys but this is terrible customer service...your lackadaisical attitude insures that I will never come back..I will drive to Lehi and get the same product and save myself the aggravation next time. read more

When I worked in a real estate management company for over 10 years we used to take our contract welder here to buy material for repairs on exterior stairs and metal railings. You will not see a DIY person at SSS as they sell steel beams, bars, sheet metal, and associated supplies (welding rods, cut off wheels, grinders, primer, paint, gloves, etc) to build everything from fencing to metal buildings. The customers are mostly contractors so as someone who does not work in that industry for a living I would always go in not knowing everything there is to know but walk out having learned something new. The sales staff never gives bad service to people who are not professionals as is the case in most building supply stores. Most of the time I dealt with Victor on the sales desk and he was outstanding. The facility is pretty cool as well. The showroom is huge and had a lot of displays with the things you can buy in the warehouse. The warehouse is colossal. There are multiple 10 ton cranes moving stock around and a constant stream of cars/trucks in and out of there. Everything is very orderly and your items are loaded in your truck quickly. The prices are competitive and the service is great. There is also a cat that lives in the warehouse as an unofficial mascot of the business. It sometimes will jump on the showroom counter to cool off in the air conditioning during the summer because it is brutally hot in the warehouse. I would take a steel/welding contractor here to buy materials if you are doing a project and want to see everything that is available instead of going based on just photos and starting a project that costs thousands of dollars. They also have a print catalog that is very detailed and should be required reading if you are building a new house or doing major renovations. read more
