With a wonderful public library, and a wonderful college in town, New London also features Morgan Hill Bookstore as one of its cultural anchors. It is refreshing to enter the store. The store changed ownership to a wonderful couple in May and the new owners have been doing their best in reorganizing and putting their own signature on the place. Service is absolutely flawless. And variety is plentiful. From best sellers to sci-fi to cooking and As hard as it is to maintain a bookstore in the cyber age, three owners are doing it write well, with sales - they just recently had a sidewalk sale, providing for added value to the customer. One wonderful business in a great town.

The VNA's coverage in the Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee area is nearly 500 square miles and they provide an amazing job to elderly, hospice, and post-surgical patients who need their services. The Renaissance Shoppe is not a consignment store but made possible through the generous donations of people. The shop has two different sections across the parking lot, one warehouse-type building, the other in the walkout basement of the VNA facility. The warehouse building has primarily furniture, kitchenware and some appliances. The other locale has fine glass and crystal, porcelain, and limited, but fine furniture. With our entertainment schedule, we go through wine glasses like paper plates at a barbecue. So we're oftentimes at Renaissance looking for matching stemware and invariably we find it. At very, very reasonable prices, which is one of the reasons why this is such a great value. Sometime ago, we found a small glass computer table that we had been looking for at commercial outlets for hundreds of dollars, we paid a fraction at Renaissance. And they take all plastic for payments. Affable, nice personnel who are there as volunteers for a great cause.

I have always heard about how horrible this guy is, but always bought stuff there anyway because I…read morenever seen it for myself. Actually I did once when I came in for a transfer and he was hostile and belligerent, but he calmed down when he realized he was wrong, so I chalked it up to a bad day, and never told anybody about it. I have always defended this guy because the countless times I have been in there bought stuff, he's always been ok. I figured the customers who hate that place just had sensitivity issues, but I just experienced the obnoxious clown this guy actually is. I always just bought things from him, never asked him for 'help' with anything. I own so many pistols, I can even accurately guess how many, but never owned a Glock. A friend of mine who is a Glock fanatic since the first G17 came into America, finally wore me down last year and I bought the .22, a G44. I really liked it, so I got the G19. That has been flawless, so I just bought a G30. Something is wrong with it. Every case either hits me in the face, or flies straight up and lands on the gun, my hand or my arms (300 rounds so far). There is no limp-waisting going on. Even when I uncomfortably lock in (hold the gun rock solid), nothing changes. All the same ammo flies 8' out of my Springfield XD45. I called Glock, and they told me to see a certified armorer. I called the black ops shop guy, because he's listed as a Glock armorer. He was even more hostile than I experienced with the transfer above. First he mocked my proficiency, the after I stated my proficiency (even understated it), he said "Then you should be able to fix it yourself" in the same belligerent manner. My 50 years of handgun proficiency tells me there is something wrong with the gun and should have it looked at by someone more familiar with a Glock. Nothing mechanically or visually looks wrong, so as any intelligent human being I knew to take it to an expert instead of randomly buy parts until, or if, its fixed. All this guy would say was "Nothing in my Glock Armorer training says anything about hitting in face with cases". Is he some type of moron or just a straight up a**hole? I give him the symptom of the problem and he mocks me with a comment so lame I stared wondering if he was gaslighting me. I'm done with this guy. No time for his BS.
