There are very nice things here and I have bought some myself, but I have also been treated snottily by certain salespeople. And last fall I took in a woolen throw for a friend but never heard anything about what happened to it. When I stopped in a few weeks ago to inquire, I was told "Oh, I guess it was sold, or maybe donated". (?????) I thought they let you know the disposition of what you brought in, and maybe you do have to take responsibility for finding out; OK. But a definitive answer would be appreciated. I also thought that after 3 mos. if it hadn't moved, you got it back, not just donated out-of-hand with no notice. If donation is the alternative, shouldn't that be the consignors choice? I long go re-cycled my list of their policies, but will be sure to pick up a new one the next time I'm in town.​​​​ read more

Very unfriendly staff and poor management. NO class just another dime a dozen little shop. The owners name is Holly who seems very moody most of the time and its displayed on the faces of those that work there, Anne is the tatooed henchman mascarading as a manager, if she smiles her face will crack. No personality for working with the public, lots of toxic energy and its a bit creepy. They do not acknowledge or greet their customers. Overpriced items most of its JUNK you can get at TJ Maxx, Walmart or from any bargain basement/garage sale. Dont waste your valuable time or money! Check out the Renaissance Shop in New London instead for a pleasurable shopping experience where you'll find super great people who arent afraid to smile and fantastic finds and antiques at incredibly affordable prices : ) read more

I've consigned with Golightly for years and have sold everything from furniture to clothes there. I always find something fun in the home store. BUT.....I keep hoping that the salespeople will change in the clothing part of the store. Their unfriendly and dismissive attitudes make me not want to consign or buy anything in the clothing department. I also have no idea if their bookkeeping is accurate. It used to be a friendly, welcoming place, but it is really no longer a pleasant experience to buy or consign clothing. read more

Needed to get rid of a lot of kitchen stuff as I was moving. The staff was helpful. Much of it sold although at very low prices and I only got 40% of the sale price. However I had donated so much it was nice to get at least a few dollars. read more

Had the worse experience today with Go lightly. Reserved a shirt while I went to lunch and when I came back they said they sold it. I then heard the two young workers laughing about it. When I went to tell my family member about it. The owner Holly overheard and jumped into the conversation and was very rude. Yelled at me in front of everyone that was at the store. Said her employees would never laught at a customer and basically said I was lying about it. She also said that her employee came to her when she saw me return to the store because she was nervous she sold the shirt. So why didn't the owner or manager not come to me when I came in? Instead I had to ask for the shirt and then that is when I got told it was sold. She also also said I was rude when I was there earlier and I said what are you even talking about and she couldn't even say what. I'm thinking she was talking about when they charged my sister twice for an item and she asked for a refund and the manager said they don't give refunds before even looking at the items and receipt. That was my sister not even me. My sister was not rude though. If you can't even get your stories straight, don't accused me of doing something I didn't do. The owner is unprofessional and spoke to me in a degrating way. After reading the reviews, and multiple people speaking about holly the owner and how rude she is and unhappy she looks, I knew my experience wasn't normal. The employee who sold the shirt even came up to my family and said she was so sorry and she was also sorry for laughing. She said she laughs at awkward situations. At least the employee was more of an adult that the actual owner and admitting what she did and apologized. I have shopped here for years and I am so disappointed how I was treated as a costumer. read more

I have been consigning with Go Lightly for a few years. I recently had an awful experience with them. I went to pick up my items that did not sell. They had me go through all of the racks to find my items. Some of the items were in the wrong size categories (bad organization...store employees should be going through and making sure items are under the right size categories). I could not find one of my items, and the manager was super rude about it. I don't think I have ever met a manager that rude. I literally searched the entire store and could not find the item. Instead of being polite and providing a solution like a good manager would, she just talked rudely to me. I also have not received my check in the mail for the consigned items that sold. I will not be consigning there again, and I would not recommend anyone else to. read more

I just read a review by someone named Lucille. I think she might have been at the wrong consignment shop! This is my favorite place to go. The quality of product is gorgeous, beautiful, antiques, and the women that work there are some of the nicest people on the planet. They work their butts off and greet everyone with a smile. I'm a bit confused by what she wrote in her review, and I think she may have been having a really really bad day, or even a bad year. The stuff is not junk. The people are beyond friendly, and this woman Lucille needs to go shopping at Walmart. It's unfortunate that she would leave such a rude and nasty and a 100% false review. I brought A LOT of items, 90% were antiques. They made a lot of money in the past couple of years from me. When pandemic hit I asked they save my unsold items a little longer. When I went to pick these up I was told they were donated. Get everything in WRITING! read more

For a small town shop, the inventory is fun and I've gotten some nice finds, but the staff has been rude to me and some of my friends, so I hesitate to shop here. There is a pervasive "attitude" among the staff that is very off-putting. This is New London, NH, ladies, not the Champs Élysées. I've had less rude service in NYC. read more

I have been shopping at Go Lightly Consignment Boutique since it first opened several years ago in a small space in New London. Right from the get-go, it was "the place" to find not only vintage clothing and jewelry, but beautiful designer clothing as well. A few years ago, Go Lightly moved to a much larger space in the same shopping center. It was a great move for them, as they are now much more visible, and the shop is always bustling with activity. Alison, the current owner, is also an artist, and you can certainly see her creative flair for design layout and displays in the shop. I go in frequently, and Alison and her staff are always changing the displays to catch the shopper's eye...and they do! I have purchased a number of fantastic and rare vintage handbags at Go Lightly. My daughter, who lives in NYC, and has access to many vintage and designer consignment shops, also has purchased a variety of designer apparel here. The staff is fantastic -- very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. Go Lightly is my favorite shop in town! Check it out!! read more

Go Lightly Consignment is a gem---I live in Boston and am often frustrated by the inflated prices of designer-ware, vintage, and just fashionable clothes at city consignment shops. I dropped $125.00 bucks and got a pair of ankle boots in camel color, banana republic sandals, a Nordstrom lace-back sweater, the most adorable baby-doll vintage red dress, j crew tees, and on-the-go work dresses. This roomy women's consignment store packs a lot of punch. Seasonally appropriate tops, sweaters, skirts and pants, jeans, blazers/jackets, dresses, and outerwear/coats all have their own racks, sorted into sizes (S, M, L, XL) and hanging with enough room between them to easily sort through them. Brands include Chicos, Talbots, LL Bean, Neiman Marcus, Calvin Klein, J Jill, Coldwater Creek, Eileen Fisher, Ann Taylor, Columbia, and lots of others (I wear mostly casual clothes so don't notice high-end labels much). All the clothes I've tried on in three or four visits seem to be in excellent, like-new condition. Also a good selection of jewelry, shoes, scarves, hats, gloves, and other accessories. The prices are great; e.g., tops are usually priced at $7-10. There is ample free parking. I recommend this store for anyone looking for fashionable women's clothing or accessories in a comfortable shopping environment for a good price. read more
