Really amazing customer service from this terrific gun store!!! Soooo impressed!!! I purchased a shotgun from them on gunbroker.com and came in to pay and do the DROS paperwork. The email communication before and after the online bid was outstanding, as was Aris on the phone, and most of all ... every single one of the employees in the shop!! I arrived at the store maybe 15 minutes before the 5pm closing time, yet everyone was patient, kind, and friendly. No one was rushing ... all the customers seemed to be treated well, regardless of skin color (noting another recent Yelper saying they were racist, I have to disagree ... I saw tons of interactions with all kinds of people - Black, Asian, Latinx, male, female, civilian and even cops ... seemed like everyone was treated well). I witnessed a lot of conversations in the front door line to get in ... the employee was equally nice to everyone, patiently explaining the process and ensuring everyone had the documents they needed to make whatever purchase they were trying to do ... for those just looking that was fine too! Same inside ... everyone I overheard seemed to be having a positive experience. PK was the employee who helped me with my DROS paperwork and even spent time afterwards showing me a rifle I was interested in. PK made some really great suggestions as well. It was a really refreshing experience, as some of the other Bay Area shops have employees that are frazzled, impatient, and rude (even to nice customers like me!) Glad to see Triple A's is totally the opposite and really values good customer service! It's worth the drive to Vallejo for whatever you need ... they had a good selections of firearms, ammo, and accessories, but you can't beat their customer service. Place has a good selection but a lot more expensive than price online. Which isn't necessarily their fault because keeping a gun store running here in California isn't the easiest. But 250 dollar price on an aero lower that is priced 80-100 dollars online is too rich for my blood. I was able to get the 86 dollar lower sent to an ffl that charges 100 dollar transfer fee. They had stuff priced exactly what you see online and then you have stuff marked up 150%. So you got to do your research. But if you have the money to spend then support local ffl's. Cause if they close then gun ranges close and we find ourselfs in a position where we can't even shoot the firearms we all spent hard earned money on. read more

I picked up my Henry Rifle .44Mag today, and was extremely disappointed in their validation process. Three people had to validate my Docs (?). I observed others picking up their firearm , and one or possibly two validated their docs. I could understand double checking, but three is somewhat excessive. I am African American and I was the 'only' African American in the store. My best friend who Asian referred me since he had a positive experience with Triple A. I shared with him my experience, and he apologized for poor Customer Service. I am in total agreement of validating all customers to ensure they meet DOJ requirements, but perhaps Triple A needs to revalidate their practices with everyone. Last year I purchased something at this store. Big Hoss at the front door was surly and rude on every visit. At the height of Covid he and the staff refused to wear masks at the front door and at the sales counter. I wrote a nice letter to management about the lack of safety and rude attitude and they never responded. A year later I stopped by with a friend and they won't have me in the store because I expressed safety concerns and feedback about the dour attitude of the doorman. I have an old Swedish Mauser I hunt with. It uses 6.5x55 which is very hard to find lead free ammo for. I called and emailed around and Triple A's was the only place I could find it in the greater Bay Area. My past experiences in different gun stores are that the staff often talks down to you for not knowing everything about guns. I had an older gentleman named Frank helping me and he was great! I was greeted at the door by an employee asking if I was picking up or purchasing. I responded with that I was looking to purchase a firearm, I was ask what kind and he wanted to see my ID, car registration and FSC. As I went inside, an older gentleman asked if I needed any assistance, which was nice but I declined as I wanted to look browse first. I approached a younger man with long hair, asked if I could see some rifles. He agreed and started to assist me with some AK pattern rifles that I was interested in. He pulled two rifles out immediately. A 9mm AK and some other standard style AKM pattern rifle, stating that, "These are the best." Looking over the 9mm AK I asked what the third AKM on the rack was, which he said an Arsenal and pulled that one out. While I am not some know it all when it comes to AKs, I do know that Arsenals are considered some of the best and carry a premium. I thought this was odd. While continuing to look over the 9mm AK, I asked what type of magazines that it took. He took an immediate attitude and said, "I don't know". Which I wrote off, the dude works at a gun shop Vallejo. I wouldn't expect him to be chipper. Another gentleman that was behind the counter, who was helping fill out paper work for another customer said it was proprietary. The short conversation was helpful and welcomed. When I looked back, the guy helping me was putting the other two standard AKM rifles back in the rack. I let him know that I wanted to still look at those, which he informed me that they had a one rifle out at a time rule and that I was an asshole and a prick. Hold up. Imagine going to a dealership and looking at a car. You ask the slimy long haired salesman if it's a V6 or V8, and his response, "asshole." What a fucking excellent business model. From that point, things deteriorated and I left trying to understand how this is acceptable conduct from an employee. At no point did a manager/owner intervene, which I'll just assume that this is sort of conduct is permissible. Triple A will no longer receive any future business from myself and I can't in good conscience recommend them to anyone anymore. I enjoy supporting brick and mortar shops, from rifles down to cleaning patches. But shit like this is what drives people to online sales. read more

I recently purchased a firearm here and had a top notch experience. PK helped me out and made the whole transaction super smooth and easy. My gun safety card was expired, so we took care of that as well. All in all, the paperwork was completed in maybe half an hour or so, and I went on to the longest 10 day wait ever, lol. I didn't get the name of the associate who helped me when I picked up the gun, but he was very helpful and timely as well. This place has tons of guns, both common and rare, and customer service is fantastic. I definitely recommend them, and would absolutely purchase a firearm from here again in the future. Maybe because of the pandemic was the reason for the lack of customer service. I was greeted at the door (limit 6 in at a time) I was asked what I was looking for, I mentioned my issue I was told to wait. Two people walk out and I was handed the item I was looking for and said I could head to the register. It being my first time I was hoping to look around and purchase a few items. I went to this place today to do a blue label purchase for a Glock firearm. The whole experience was very strange from the beginning. Outside before they even let you in, they check every bit of documents that you have including your drivers license and your firearm safety card. Even your car registration. When I got in, I completed all of my paperwork and then they told me that the background check could take 15 to 18 days and that they would call me. That's very strange because the background check through the state is instantaneous and then the 10 days for California to wait for a firearm is a cooling off. Period. Finally when the whole process was completed and I had already paid over $550 in cash. The person at the door came to me and told me my birth certificate copy was fake. This is very strange because I just purchased a firearm two weeks ago and another one in January and there was no issue. I have driven all the way down here and this was the way I was being treated. I offered to show them a security clearance from the department of homeland security for the refinery in which I work. I also have my badge from 30 years of a paramedic service in Alameda County. None of this matter to them. I asked for a refund and I left. I would not recommend anybody go here. There are much more civilized gun stores that would be happy to take your business. Referred by a friend of mine to take my business here. He had nothing to say but great things about this place. From completing the Firearm Safety Certificate to completing the Dealer's Record of Sale, everything was done here. It was a one stop deal for me. Since I've already had my heart set on something specific and it happens to be that they had it in stock, it was a simple short transaction. The guy who sold me the piece was detailed and was nothing but great answering all of my questions. Their inventory was no joke. They had many to choose from. Without going into too much details, there was a mix-up but it all got squared away. Other than that, all was a great experience. I've dealt with about 4 different people. They are well staffed. Went in this past Saturday, 06/27/2020 with an objective to make my first firearm purchase. I got there an hour before opening and there was already a pretty lengthy line, well hey with what's going on this is expected. By the time I was at the front of the line their front door guy asked what I was looking for which, I responded, I was looking for a Glock 19. Before he checked his inventory he wanted to make sure I had all my documents, FSC registration ETC.. That's no problem with me, I had it in hand because I did not want to waste their time or have them waste my time. He confirmed he had my choice in stock, and took down my contact info because it would be a 4 hour wait with everyone in line and pick ups. Please keep in mind the circumstances of many now wanting a firearm and how busy their shop is. Again, waiting is no problem and I thanked him for his time. What was initially a 4 hour estimate turned out to be 1 hour and I was inside their shop taking care of paper work. I was a little surprised by the increase in price of my choice, but they were nice enough to explain that their normal vendor is out of stock and they are now having to order online at a higher price on certain firearms. I totally get it, so no sweat. I went in there being respectful of everyone and would you know it? They reciprocated that respect right back. I have to wait about 12-14 days since now adays there are delays, but soon enough I will have my very first firearm. This is definitely the place to go. read more

If your children play baseball, then you probably started them on some inexpensive mitt and a cheapo bat. Over the years, as they get better, you continue to buy them better equipment, until they finally reach the Varsity squad in high school and need really good equipment as they prepare for college. Except in the case of my son, it's the trap and sporting clays Varsity squad at his his high school. He started with a really inexpensive shotgun that I had laying around. Then I bought him a slightly better one at a local sporting goods store, but soon he needed the real thing. I wanted to get him something that would get him through college, and who knows, maybe the olympics. (Hey, I can dream!) So I did a bunch of research and they don't sell those very many places and even if they do sell them, they don't have any in stock. I call around and everyone is out, except, yep, Triple A. They have they one I want, plus several other similar models, compared to their competitors who promise to order it and wait a few weeks or months. We go in there and try all them out in the store. The staff are friendly and really know their stuff. My son picks the one I thought he would and as I'm crying on the inside at the price, I'm smiling the whole time on the outside. These things are really expensive, but the prices at Triple A are very reasonable and the fact that they keep these in stock, is a huge plus, and helpful to us. The transaction went smoothly and we picked it up, took it home and oiled it, and it works perfectly. At a recent event, on the last stand, he hit two birds (made of clay) with a single round of ammunition and then did it again a 2nd time. A gun of this quality makes that possible. Before going, I researched, seeing mostly good reviews. Also always endeavoring to support local small business, my friend and I met there to purchase guns, at least 3, with amo and other accessories. A man came out, cutting us off at the door, saying they close in 30 minutes, basically trying to shew us off, first with the certainty that we probably didnt have the required forms of ID, that we'd have to take a safety test, which takes 1.75 hours, then want to "shop". Yep, shop because we are woman. Little did he know that I shop like a man, point, shoot, grab my goods, and get. We asked if we could go in and look in the remaing 30 minutes of business, but "no" because we would have questions. Guess he thought we'd not adhere to or be respectful of closing time and his obvious eagerness to get out of there. Always blows me away how some don't give a crap about whether they make a new customer or when they make a sale, don't care about customer retention. I get the feeling if we'd become a customer this afternoon, we'd never have returned, and it would have made no difference to them. Their loss. The guys here are all very helpful and friendly. They try their best to find the perfect gun to fit your wants/needs. At times they can be short and to the point when it gets busy. The shop has a huge variety of all firearms and accessories. It is deceiving from the outside as I would not have imagined to see that much 'stuff' in what appears to be a small store. They did well with the shop layout. I started visiting the store last year to try and get all the SSE pistols that I wanted before the 2015 deadline. I was able to get utilize my rights to buy the legal maximum. I frequented so much that the guys were able to recognize and greet me and my wife on a first name basis. I would recommend my friends to visit Triple A as I am confident that they would have a good shopping experience. One more thing to note is that they are genuinely concerned for their clients. They will escort you out to your vehicle if you feel 'unsafe' or if it's dark out. It just helps reassure that my wife would be safe visiting on her own. read more
