5 stars only for the Stuffed Crust Barbecue Chicken Pizza! We moved here a few months back from…read morethe pizza desert that is SoCal (where the best pizza we found was Little Caesars). Well my in laws had recommended Napoli's as their pick and we were getting more the Chicago traditional thin crust sausage, etc which was 'ok'. But on a whim, I decided to bring the California to IL and we tried their bbq chicken pizza (my wife had my compromise with the stuffed crust--I generally detest stuffed crust but I obliged--and we basically found pizza heaven. Their stuffed crust is less like Pizza Hut, etc a nasty stuffed crust but more like Deep Dish Chicago Style...and the bbq chicken Stuffed Crust is just note perfect. A rather spicy but delicious bbq sauce, chicken and that pizza goodness we missed all those years in CA. We have tried it on the thin crust and it's just average, but the stuffed crust is perfect ,and what's more a piece is big enough to feed me) Now as I haven't thought much of the other pizza here (it's 'fine' but not great -- though would win in our CA town lol) but this bbq chicken pizza is amazing and we get it once every couple weeks. Absolutely worth it!

Then the thin crust pizza came and it too was cooked to brown and crispy where even the cheese had become hard. All of this happened while I was hearing Casino sounds and 4 televisions blasting. I hated this place for it. And I hated it even more when I saw pizzas going out to other tables that looked like they were cooked perfectly. But Napoli has a Monday half priced pizza special, and after six months we decided to go for it. We got a Tavern Pizza with four toppings. The Price was good and the Pizza was excellent. I will have to update this review after trying the place a few more times - because clearly they are inconsistent.

Hands down, our favorite pizza spot. Being right in downtown Crystal Lake just adds to the character and charm. Their deep dish pizza is outstanding. I'd argue it's one of the best deep dishes I've ever had. Just a heads up...give yourself some time. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour for a deep dish, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The staff is always friendly, and the whole experience just feels like a classic local favorite done right. If you're in Crystal Lake and craving pizza, this is the spot.

We ordered some calamari and chicken wings to start, and both were delicious! Then we ordered two deep-dish pizzas: Mama Primavera, which came with spinach, mushrooms, tomato, green peppers, garlic, and onion. Also got the Papa one which comes with sausage, mushroom, onion, green peppers, pepperoni, and bacon. So between the two mama is like a vegetarian style and Papa's has meat. The sizes are huge and we probably should have ordered a smaller size. Next time! Overall it was tasty and I would come back!

My husband and I both had the ayce combo and added a cup of clam chowder soup. DELICIOUS! Serving size is large, and we're happily stuffed without additional servings. Definitely a no frills kind of place...kinda makes you feel like you're on a vacation! ALL the servers, bartenders and the host were super friendly and hard working, even when they were packed and pressured. Forgot to mention we drove 1 hour to get there, and an hour home in the pouring rain, but it was worth it. Loved Cullom Knoll, we will be back!

The reason for this is our last two visits, Judging my mother for what she ordered and gossiping with drunks at the bar loudly enough that we can hear is absurdly rude. Sorry its a slow night but maybe don't judge a vegetarian for not loving bacon and mocking them to other customers. Its just a bad showing. We come here often, so to be treated like that is heartbreaking. Now, my mom can't be certain they haven't been gossiping about her pretty simple order, a wrap with no meat, the entire time. Also just turn off the depressing news on the tv's its obnoxious when we are sitting down and just trying to have a good time. Put on a fun tv show, the game, something else.
