My Aunt (in-law) treated me to a basic pedicure and express manicure at Esthetique this weekend…read more She is probably one of this salon's most loyal customers. I would not dare say anything to her about what I think of it because I do not want to hurt her feelings and seem ungrateful, but I think she is getting royally ripped off here. The Basic Pedicure (60 minutes, $47) The service started with a 15-20 minute soak of my feet in a pedicure sink, which I thought was a little too long. The remaining 40 minutes or so was spent by my nail tech gently smoothing out my rough skin, trimming my cuticles, shaping and buffing my nails, "massaging" my legs, and applying nail polish. The "massage" itself was lame because I did not feel like I got a massage - it felt more like someone rubbing lotion on my legs for about a minute. That said, I can't complain too much since the objective of the pedi - to have sandal-ready feet - was achieved. The Express Manicure (30 minutes, $18) This was supposed to be a 30-minute service, but mine was over in about 20. The nail tech shaped and buffed my nails, trimmed my cuticles, and applied clear nail polish. She did OK, but it was nothing great. I would have rather saved my Aunt her $18 because my nails did not look much better than they did before the manicure and my cuticles are now cracked and a bit inflamed. Conclusion The staff are nice enough, but they do just a "meh" job and I therefore do not feel that paying to get a mani/pedi here is money well spent. If I weren't so gutless, I would tell my Aunt to save her money and seek better and/or less expensive alternatives to this place.

I had a facial and eyebrow wax and really felt that Eva took the time to get to know my skin and my personal needs before she started the facial, with the effect that I walked out looking and feeling great. I find it hard to find a skincare professional that walks the line between actually doing some lasting good to your skin and giving you a relaxing experience. This spa does an excellent job both. I found out they were voted best day spa by in their local area and can see why. Their location is warm, relaxing and quite beautiful. It's also very clean and looks like it's very well taken care of, not like some cheap nail places I've been to. It's a little pricier than the cheap nail places but reasonable overall and worth it. If you want quality spa services this is a great place. Their Pitt Meadows location is now easier to get to than ever with the Golden Ears and Pitt River bridges.

My wife and I usually opt for Gayle's mobile service. She visits our home a few times per month…read more I love this option because I don't need to take the time to prepare, then drive over to her clinic, and back home after my treatment. Her portable professional massage table is sturdy yet comfortable, and she always brings fresh linens to keep me covered and warm. She uses a combination of traditional and Thai massage techniques, and focusses far less on minutes than on making sure I have a relaxing and peaceful massage experience. She's extremely knowledgable and experienced, even with special cases, like my wife, who has a spinal cord injury and required a different treatment than your average massage patient in order to feel relief from pain and stress. Gayle has a very pleasant, easy-going personality and is a pleasure to get to know. She's also great with kids, in case you have little monsters running around like we do. Once in a while we go over to her home-based clinic. It's recently renovated, totally accessible, has free parking and even a sauna. The oils smell pretty good, too :) Gayle's the only massage therapist we trust and I enthusiastically recommend her services!

One the man was hurting my feet so bad by pushing so hard but not in the right spots. Didn't feel well trained. I kept saying ow and pulling my feet back and he'd smile and nod but then do it again. The next two times I had two different women but they both spent most of the time rubbing my shins (not even my calves). One lady only rubbed the top of my feet, and I wondered if it was some sort of ancient Asian foot technique but no. I stood up and my feet were not happy. Very hit and miss.

Okay so it took two years to get into Limina for a facial, but after a rough week and a requirement…read morefor some pampering, I called up this morning requesting a facial. Limina has a plethora of options for facials, so much so that I really had no idea what I wanted or needed. so when I arrived Jessica walked out to greet me, looking at my skin. Yes, it is a little unnerving, but it's what I asked for... and she promptly decided on my skin care treatment. She lead me into a room with what can only be described as the most comfortable facial bed ever. I got undressed and into the soft sheets by the time she was back. Jessica takes her time and does things rhythmically and methodically. While other facials have included painful extraction, Jessica's was... well, heavenly. The extraction was literally pain and thus flinch free. And while your scrubs/steams/masks/lotions are working their magic, her hands are working their magic on you. One of the most relaxing massages in memory. I signed up for their membership, which I wasn't planning to do... but 30% off any treatment once a month? That makes it affordable to come in and get a facial regularly. And the facials? Are heaven. Particularly when you're in Jessica's hands. The entire experience cost less than expected, which pleased me greatly.

I have visited Limina three times in the past year or so, each time to have my eyebrows shaped. The…read morefirst two visits were very good experiences: I left with perfectly shaped eyebrows that really complemented my face. However, two days ago I went in for another eyebrow wax with the same esthetician, and came out with a very different result. I asked her to please leave the body of my brow the same width and simply to clean up and define the outline and remove stray hairs. I emphasized that I didn't want the width of my brows to change significantly, and that symmetry was my #1 priority. I also told her that my eyebrow hairs are quite easy to kill off and I would prefer trimming over tweezing/waxing if applicable. Well..... I came out with both eyebrows significantly thinner, asymmetrical in width and length, and with a patch of unwaxed hairs under my right arch. I shared these concerns with the esthetician. She mumbled something about how one side probably wouldn't grow back and hustled me out of the room. She had already applied eyebrow makeup (which I didn't want due to my concerns about infection, esp on freshly waxed skin) without asking me, and this made it even more difficult to really assess the situation, but when I went home, washed my face and really had a look, I was horrified. I have attached a picture below for you all to see for yourselves. I tried calling Limina. I told the receptionist my issue, and she immediately said she'd call me back. Once she did, all she said was "Sure, I guess you can come back now if you want her to fix it." Having been burned already, with a response like that, you can imagine that I didn't return and never will.
