I asked a young man who was on his third work day there for help and he proceeded to climb high up onto a rather perilous structure to get me my requisite 5 gallon containers, and later helped me with the potting soil. I'm sure it's kind of rare to have someone buying only 4 containers and 4 bags of soil (plus plants) but the guy was wonderful. Dazeys continues to carry an assortment of interesting plants, though at the end of the season when I shopped the selection was a bit thin. Most of the pretty interior space has now been devoted to grow supplies for the cash crop of our region. Was I shocked? no. But I was saddened. I like the pretty, what can I say?

The repairs only last a few weeks or months and then it stops working again. In this rural area, we need our generators to get through numerous power outages in the winter months. I've thrown away chest freezers full of food because it spoiled when the power went out and the generator wouldn't work. Most recently, they sent me a bill for over $500 for a repairman who wasn't able to fix the machine. He said he needed to order some new part, but apparently never did. I hired a different mechanic, and he fixed it in less than an hour for a quarter of the price. He did not need to order any additional parts. I would advise anyone to avoid this business at all costs. They have recently been sold to Pape Machinery.

Mark Blackmore blew us out of the forest from the very beginning (especially me, a through-and-through city girl!). We initially came in just to look at what tractors were available. What happened next had Mike and I biting the bullet and buying a new tractor. Mark went step-by-step (as if we had bought the tractor) on all of the features the tractor had and explained how to operate it; how these features would fit our needs on our 1 1/2 acre property. He gave us the pros and cons of the different accessories available; but, he also told us that once we bought the tractor, use it for a year before we decide to buy any accessories. Mark also told us not to buy the bigger-sized tractor because we didn't need it. There's no BS with him. Not once did we feel pressured to buy whether it was used or new. He's not really a salesman, but more of a teacher, a very knowledgeable one at that, and that's the best kind of salesman you could hope for! And this is absolutely why you need to do business with Mark!! After all was said and done, Mike and I left with so much information and no pressure from Mark to buy that day. We came back a month later and bought a brand-new Yanmar tractor. Thank you Mark for teaching us the ways of the tractor!! p.s. Mark went one step further! We called Mark in December to tell him that we were having a hard time finding tire chains for our tractor. He tracked down the only set of chains available for our tire size and had them hold it for us and it was located right there in Redding.
