Bacon Bloody Mary's (switched to Kettle One)..they were spicy

Went for brunch, started with bacon bloody Mary's, then we got the honey chicken biscuit and Smokin' Hash. It was all excellent! Have been here several times, but I think this is the best we've had so far.

This is definitely a hidden gem and worth the hour trip from Tallahassee. The atmosphere is really nice and the layout is quite unique. Upstairs is the restaurant portion which is divided into two sides and we were on what I like to call the fish bowl side. The view was great, however it got extremely loud at one point given the bowl shaped design. When I went to the opposite side of the restaurant to use the restroom it was much quieter and more modern and sleek. Downstairs was another bar with all types of entertainment including a sand volleyball court, oversized games, darts, pool, and these awesome swings. The food was very delicious and even though it was pricey in my opinion the portions were enormous. I got the blue crab corn bisque which was delightful but I didn't really care for the bread that came with it. I can't even tell you what it was but it was very yellow. My mocktail was great and I loved that they had so many mocktail options. I got the elegant rosemary which was grapefruit juice, rosemary infused honey, and sparking water. One thing that was off was a price discrepancy, my bisque said $11 on the menu but it was $12 on the ticket. I didn't bring it up because I was with a very large party and only a dollar but they need to be more careful and transparent. If the prices have changed the menu needs to be updated. They would've gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the price discrepancy, I've never experienced that in a restaurant before.

We always have an amazing time when visiting the Rice brothers restaurants. This one always exceeds my expectations. The flavor in the dishes, the craft cocktails, suggested pairs, mouth dropping appetizers and if you have room for dessert then good for you. Try the cheesecake brownie thing. You won't be disappointed. Sea to table so fresh and yummy!

Wow, outstanding hidden gem in Panacea! The ambiance is breathtaking - all the way down to the storm cloud lights. The picturesque view of the water is amazing. The food - 5/5!!! We got the stuffed crab balls, portobello sandwich, and chicken bacon ranch sandwich. They were all phenomenal. Our drinks were good. I got the strawberry fields and it just happened to be happy hour which made it $4 off. Service was good as well. No complaints. Below the restaurant is an upbeat bar called low tide and we enjoyed having a beer there after! All in all, it was so good and we will definitely be back! I wish I could give half stars on these reviews because it would easily be a 4.5/5.

    Noise level during brunch.

We have been to Trident a half-dozen times, during busy times and not, in the summer and winter. On each visit, the food was DELICIOUS, the service was good, and conversation was IMPOSSIBLE. Due to the acoustics of the dining rooms (both the bar room and the dining room) the noise level is extremely loud. We had Father's Day brunch yesterday, at noon, and we were seated under the hammerhead shark in the dining room. It was not just incredibly loud, it was painfully loud. We witnessed another patron leave his table and return with hearing protection for his daughter. No one was screaming or being out of place, simply loud conversations that seemed to be amplified by the walls and domed ceiling. Noise levels above 85 decibels can be harmful for prolonged periods of time. I feel terrible for the wait staff who have to endure the noise. I used a decibel meter to see if I was overreacting. 93 decibels is equivalent to sitting next to a lawn mower. I wasn't overreacting. I've seen other reviews that complain about the noise. Perhaps management can address this before an employee contacts OSHA. Despite the delicious food and sweet employees, I doubt that we will return, sadly.

The portions here are huge. Everything we ordered from the soup to dessert was great. It is more expensive than most restaurants in the area, but we don't mind paying for good food. The service was top notch! The ambiance is what could be improved on. The view is pretty. There was music playing in the restaurant and music from the outside bar downstairs mixing. The bathroom needed a quick pickup and paper towels. Nothing to stop us from going again!

    Roll one up. So good!!!

This is a must stop if you are anywhere near the area! A member of our party had been and raved about it so we had to go. It's right on the water and has a great view. We went for brunch and had a hard time choosing just one dish because everything sounded delicious. We started with the stuffed crab balls and cinnamon rolls and both were amazing. I got the roll one up as my entree and loved it! Not only was it cooked perfectly, but it was huge so I had leftovers. Another member of my party got a Benedict and loved it too! There was also a great brunch drink menu. Everything we had was amazing!

The food was simply outstanding! Blue crab balls, yellowfin tuna poke stack, crab stuffed grouper over mashers with lobster bisque sauce, fried catfish over cheddar cheese coarse grits with a yummy sauce, key lime pie and cherry Coca-Cola crème brûlée. Great NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Sitting right on the Gulf near Alligator Point. The red light dot on the map marks the spot. Service was friendly and good. The place is beautiful and the restroom off the bar area is not to be missed (and spotless). Our first time and we will be back every year when we visit nearby St. George Island.

Best restaurant we've eaten at in a long time!! Totally hidden gem. DO NOT EAT ANY WHERE ELSE in Panacea!! Be prepared that the main dining room is loud. It can't be helped. It's one big, very cool "under the sea" themed room. We had the grouper cheeks as an appetizer (it's an entree), & it was perfect! The cornmeal breading, poblano relish & cheese grits were the best combo with this fish. I got the ahi tuna salad, which was huge! With a large perfectly cooked & seasoned sliced filet of tuna for $17!! That's crazy these days! Hubby got the blackened cobia & loved it. I thought it was a little too spicy, but I don't care for blackened seasoning. We had one of the best creme brûlées we've ever had for dessert!! I only wish we lived closer! We drove across FL from Jax, just for fun & got SO lucky stumbling upon this place. We'll definitely be back!!

We had a party of 10 on Saturday and the entire party arrived on time. Unfortunately they did not have a table for us and we waited 1 1/2 hours before being seated. They have so much to see and do that it wouldn't be a problem unless of course you have other things to do after your dinner!! Then it becomes irritating!! While we waited we were able to stand outside and watch the birds, fish and boats. The party walked down the pier and we hung out at the end for a while before succumbing to the heat and opting to go inside. Once seated the service and food was excellent. We were there during their "brunch" window so we ate shrimp salads, hot chicken sandwich, beast burgers, chicken sandwich, shrimp and grits and salads. Everyone loved their meal. There was no issues with the food and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If we had t had to wait so long when we had a reservation it would get 5 stars!

Legit can't believe I haven't reviewed Trident yet! We moved to the area in December & this has quickly become a favorite repeat of not just ours but our visitors too. Consider the lack of food pics a testament to how divine the food is as we can never seem to take any before we've already devoured everything! Literally, it's all that good. We haven't had a bad dish here. Our favorites are the crab balls, rowdy shrimp, crab stuffed grouper, lobster ravioli, ribeye, literally everything. I honestly can't say it enough. Everything here is so freaking good. For drinks, our go tos are the walnut old fashioned and the Walnut Block Sauvignon Blanc. They just opened the bar area underneath a week or two ago & can't wait to check that out!

I was told that the restaurant was built over the water so it could take advantage of Franklin County being wet and sell alcohol. Stand in the parking lot in Wakulla County and you better not have any booze on you. Walk into the restaurant out over the water and you could quench your thirst. Is it any wonder that it was a popular drive even from Tallahassee to dine. It's still a wonderful drive for delicious food on the water. Angelo's website tells me it was George's Grill and Bar at the start. It was Faiver's Restaurant when I came here right into the '70s at least. It became Angelo's in 1985 after extensive renovations. All of these versions have been owned by the same family. In 2005 Hurricane Denis damaged the old building. I remember seeing pictures of the missing floor throughout the restaurant. The damage was bad enough that the building had to be torn down. Amazingly, the family was able to rebuild while meeting new building codes for coastal buildings. It's much higher off the water now on a solid concrete foundation. It does mean it's a bit of a climb to the doors but there's an elevator for those of us that find that challenging. Once you get up there you will be rewarded with indoor and outdoor waterfront seating on Ochlockonee Bay. It's one of very few waterfront dining options available near Tallahassee these days. We have dined there a couple of times recently and it's always good food and good service. This last visit I discovered an off menu option for Costa Rican Amberjack. The waitress did me a tremendous favor when she mentioned it when I asked about the Charbroiled Amberjack that is on the menu. Besides the absolutely amazing presentation for the dish (check out my photo), it is equally delicious. One of a few destination dishes that so impressed me that I would drive specifically to get them. Like the Chipotle Pork Chops at Habana Boardwalk, the Spaghetti Bolognese at Mimmo's in Destin, the Ribs at Charlie Verdugo's Rendevous in Memphis and the Firecracker Pork Fusilli at Fuzio Universal Bistro in Modesto. The fish was perfectly grilled and the sauces and rice and black beans were a tasty addition. The wife enjoyed the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer and I gave her my cheese grits side. The shrimp are good sized popcorn shrimp and they are lightly floured rather than buried in batter. We have tried most of their fried seafood options and all were good. I would even recommend the Buffalo Backs appetizer using grouper and snapper backbones although I had it when it was an entree special. You will not find a better dining option on the water in our area.

We had been camping at Torreya State Park but unfortunately, my ankle wasn't living up to expectations. Rather than put ourselves in a precarious situation, my wife got us reservations in Apalachicola and we drove down. We almost went to a little more upscale place, but as soon as I saw Hole in the Wall seafood, I changed my mind. Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but the best kind. Inviting, homie, Kitchie, and down to earth. The decor consists of hats donated by patrons. There are several wooden tables, including some large ones and a good sized bar. We opted for the bar. Cliff, the owner, is a former molecular biology professor and a fellow Hoosier. We noticed the oysters being shucked and they looked fresh and massive. We started off with a dozen raw oysters, a pound of their Cajun peel and eat boiled shrimp, and two grouper and oyster combo baskets with fries and hush puppies. Everything was outstanding. We ended up getting another dozen oysters. They were plump, sweet, and undeniably fresh. The peel and eat shrimp were amazing. They weren't just the typical throw some old bay on and dump a ton of butter in variety. The flavor was unique and rich. I joked with Cliff that I thought about drinking the juice and he said he had people order bread just to sop it up with. The fried grouper and oysters were outstanding. Big, flaky chunks of grouper, perfectly breaded and fried. The breading was just right. Light and crisp. Not heavy or greasy and the least. Ryan, the young man shucking the oysters, is obviously an expert, and each oyster was perfectly shucked. The beer selection is small, but excellent. I recommend the Oyster City Hooter Brown Ale and the Estrella Jalisco if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter. I can't say enough good things about this place. We'll be back... tomorrow.
