Great fish and chips, good prices and service. I recommend it to you, especially to take away.

Located right on the beach you have beautiful, unspoiled views, which on a sunny day make you feel like you could be anywhere. The food and service are both very good and worth the recommend, but the location and view knock it up to four stars.

Our waiter said that our drinks (mine was mineral water in a glass bottle) would be fifteen minutes late. It turns out that my chocolate cake slab and my drink arrived 5 minutes after we ordered it! The customer service was excellent as when we had finished, the waiter brought over our bill straight away. As said in my last review, I walked quite a way and enjoyed a lovely chocolate cake by the beach. Once again, I would most definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the East Sussex region. Overall, I would visit this little café everyday if I could! My sister enjoyed a slice of Victoria Sponge and a glass of orange juice. She would definitely visit here again, and so would I.

The very friendly waitress took our drinks and starter order promptly, amazing food and even better level of service I've not experienced anywhere before, even in the USA. We had the house wine and a gin and tonic for our drinks, and they were all quite satisfactory. The house salads are delicious: an assortment of greens (mesclun, iceberg) and raw yellow + red peppers and sliced carrots and red onions, all cupped into a long cucumber. It was so creative/inventive! They made a special linguine with tomato sauce and mushrooms for me, it was so delicious, as the pasta was served al dente and the sauce was so good it needed nothing else. Also had a taste of the fish dish with a saffron and raisin cream sauce. It sounds gross but it was absolutely ridiculous. If I come back, I would order that and suggest you do, too. Indulged and got some chocolate and pistachio gelato to finish, which was served in a chocolate cookie bowl. Had an espresso as well, perfect sidekick to end the meal. They also offered us an iced lemon drink at the end to cleanse our palettes. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area or folks who are visiting. Its so nice that the owner comes around to ask you how everything is, and all the waiters are spouting out Italian phrases. It's worth every penny! Enjoy...

Being nearby, I popped in (after a slightly misleading map location) and as there were a few items listed on the A-board outside, I decided to ask for a childrens menu as I tend to eat smaller portions. I stepped inside, it was dark for a restaurant that had the span of the whole corner lot, and it was peppered with handwritten notices. Some of the notices were for how many people allowed inside to order which seemed to contradict itself, and a big one near the cash register that commanded people leave as soon as they pay to wait outside for their order - where there is no seating and it is a very busy street corner. There was one man behind the counter who immediately glared at me when I stepped in, then averted his eyes silently when I looked at him to speak. "Hi there! Do you have a children's menu I could look at please?" "A what?" "A children's menu, for smaller portions?" "No. Full size only!" The glare was turned back to me. "Ok, thank you anyway." I left feeling like I'd asked a silly question. For a business that has so much competition on Eastbourne seafront I had expected even basic decency but apparently I was not afforded even that.
