I'd heard good things about Tribute Tattoo. I had an idea of what I wanted, but it needed refining. KD, the nicest woman, was the one who returned my call and proceeded to work with me. The place is ultra clean, modern and fun. There is artwork and large TVs to look at. KD worked on my design, until she perfected it! It was small, but of course, I wanted it PERFECT. She had lots of patience, but more importantly skill. She did a beautiful job and I am so happy. There are a lot of tattoo places, but I recommend Tribute. Nice co workers, too. I came here to get a tattoo that I've been wanting for a long time. I had looked at tons of artists and shops but no one really convinced me based on the pictures I saw. I reached out to the shops instagram account and sent an email of what I wanted. A short while later, one of the artists, Gage, reached out to me. He was really excited about my idea and gave me a very reasonable quote. A few days later I came I to get it done. Gage was super friendly and extremely meticulous. The tattoo I wanted wasn't very big but required a lot of detail. I loved the end result. Everyone that has seen it has complimented me on it. As someone with several tattoos, I can honestly say this has been my best experience with an artist!!! If I decide to get anything in the future I will definitely be coming back. This shop and their artists are not only good at what they do art wise, but are very warm, friendly, and create a welcoming environment that makes the whole tattooing experience very chill and comfortable. I keep returning to Gage because I enjoy his art style so much, and he has a feather light touch because even though I enjoy getting tattoos, he makes them so easy to get that I just keep wanting more! I plan on getting my whole arm sleeve with him gradually over time. The price is fair for the high quality of work you are getting and the service level. I'd say my only critique is that the parking is a little awkward, and I wish they had a bigger space to work in so each artist could have their own separate area. I just want to thank the artists at Tribute Tattoo because without them I wouldn't have had the confidence to go on my current tattoo journey. I discovered tribute on my way to work one day stopped at the red light where the shop resides. On a whim I dmed their Instagram account to see if they had an artist available that matched the style sleeve I wanted. Many months later and many sessions later I can confidently say that this is one amazing shop, with some talented artists. The shop is extremely clean and follows strict biohazard rules, around the walls are multiple tvs for clients entertainment while getting tattooed. This is a review for both Tribute and the owner Jamie Parker! My boyfriend got his very first FULL SLEEVE TATTOO with him and it has been an AMAZING JOURNEY! Backstory: Bf has been looking for a really good artist for a couple months. He has been picky because he's a big gamer fan and his ideal tattoo HAS MANY INTRICATE DETAILS. He came accross Jamie's portfolio as he was looking for a REPUTABLE artist in the SFV area. They first met at the old shop in West Hills and he immediately fell in love with his work. Process: Bf wanted a full sleeve which now has become a year long project with Jamie. Jamie is VERY ATTENTIVE to his requests and made sure every detail was PERFECT. His collaboration with my bf's ideas has been UNPARALLELED. One session is usually about 6 hours which is VERY WORTH IT since Jamie makes sure no detail was missed. After a year, I'm now PROUD to present my bf's fully healed tattoo. He's getting a lot of compliments from strangers! The color remained VIBRANT and the DETAILS ARE JUST SO BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT. My bf is so happy with the results. Honestly, my bf looks like a walking canvas. Jamie has evolved a lot and has since moved to Tribute as the owner of this shop. The shop is clean and they ensure that the use premium equipment for your tattoo. The shop has a LOT OF FLAT SCREEN TVs playing all sorts of comedies and cartoons so you'll be entertained during the whole process. Poor experience with Brett Herman. Met him in advance for a sketch of my tattoo. Took a deposit and scheduled me for months out because he only does one tattoo a day. Took $150 deposit, no contract or paperwork. Said he's way backed up on sketches and would sketch my tattoo couple weeks before my appointment. When that time came I felt I had to chase him for something. Finally 48 hrs before my tattoo he said I can come in and see his work. I ended up getting a photoshopped compilation of graphics from google. Totally disappointing from a "highly sought after artist"(in his words). Too busy for you, won't deliver what he promises. 3 stars because the location was definitely clean and the other artists there probably have have better communication or business skills.
