Hired Tom the "Luminous Shaman" to fix a toilet that was loose, reattached a toilet paper holder,…read morefix a laundry room door, and fix a screen. He was able to fix the toilet paper holder. Took part the toilet in a 15 year old house that was working fine and left it apart because the flange needed to be lowered. Said it was put in wrong when the house was built. Well it worked ok until it was left in my dining room. Neighbors haven't had major issues with their toilet. Said he needed parts for the other things. Charged $100 to rehang the toilet paper holder. Said he was a vet with oxygen issues. I believe that. Didn't wear a mask and he wasn't vaccinated against Covid which is his choice but I think puts him at risk. Left a card about being a Healer. Had mostly good reviews.

Let's talk about the light: It's hanging from a 9 foot ceiling in the stairwell . Jonathan arrived prepared with the right sized ladder and fixed the problem with ease. Oh, he also secured my dishwasher so it wouldn't keep sliding out of it's area whenever I use it. While he was working, I started making a mental list of things I will have him come back to do. Jonathan is also very friendly and shared with me homeowner tips about things I did not know prior. I looking forward to hiring Jonathan again to handle my to do list . My only regret was that I did not know Jonathan sooner to have these things taken care of.

After purchasing my first home, this company was referred to me. I hired him for installing…read moreflooring, patching any hole, and painting my home. The worst patching and painting job I've ever seen in my life. The worst work ethic I've ever observed. For instance, to reach high places, instead of bringing a ladder like a normal contractor, this guy decided to stand on my personal property without asking. Being that I work at night, I'm a full-time graduate student, and I'm in the military, I would advise him to come around 8 o'clock in the morning. He would show up around 11 or 12. No heads up or anything. Very inconsiderate. Very disregarding. Very unprofessional. And his "team" was his unlicensed cousin visiting from out of town. That made me ask the owner where he went to school for his work, his response was "the school of hard knocks". I feel like this company takes advantage of women by gaslighting and manipulating. When I would say that there were certain areas on the wall that weren't painted with the color paint that I selected, he would tell me that it just looks like that because the paint is still wet. I would wait until the next day for it to "dry", and it would still be a different color. My bathroom was blue, and I had him to paint it an ivory color. I would still be able to see the blue underneath, and after informing him, he told me, "it's because you're just used to seeing the blue from before". On my bedroom ceiling, you could see the overlapping, because he only painted one layer. He would tell me that it only looks like that because there are shadows in the room. I asked him before he started painting if he needed me to clean the walls because I didn't want him painting over dust and dirt, his reply was that that's a part of painting, and that he would take care of it. I literally saw him paint over dust. In my bathroom, you are able to see large painted dust particles that have been rolled up by the paint. There are spots in my bedroom, where no paint came in contact with the wall at all. They didn't even paint behind the stairwell railing. And he sanded and painted the stairs, it looks like a child did it. There are also places where no paint should have common contact with things at all, like my ceiling fan, my light fixture, door hinges, stairwell railing, etc. Very horrible work. After showing my realtor the work that his recommendation left behind, even he stopped working with him. Zero out of 10. Do not recommend! Take your thousands of dollars elsewhere!!! I had to hire a different company to come in and fix his work. They ended up apologizing to me on his behalf for such a horrible job done.

If Adam Smith himself had owned a pressure washer, he still couldn't have produced the "invisible…read morehand" that Handy Marin Services brought to my deck. This poor deck hadn't been cleaned in years--long enough that I was considering charging admission as a mossy nature preserve. One afternoon with Handy Marin and suddenly I'm looking at wood grain I forgot existed. It's like depreciation reversed before my eyes. As if restoring the deck weren't enough, he also re-hung the wayward shutters on the front of my home. Think of them as irrational markets suddenly corrected--now everything looks balanced, stable, and dare I say, aesthetically efficient. The work was quick, thorough, and surprisingly affordable--an optimal equilibrium of quality and cost. I rarely give out 5-star reviews (my students will attest to this), but in this case, the marginal utility is through the roof. Handy Marin Services earns my highest recommendation. If you want your home to look less like a neglected externality and more like a well-run economy, call this man immediately.
