The man and woman duo were just standing around in one bedroom not doing any cleaning! There were blinds on the floor needing dusting--they decided to just leave it there until I asked. I did not see a single duster, mop or vacuum in action. Every inquiry was met with "that's not my job" when you are literally cleaning an empty house! Did a bunch of internet research on the various methods .. no res, hot water extraction, encapsulation... then a search of Groupon for carpet cleaning deals in the Cumming area. That's how I found CleanR Carpet For Less (also known as Clene apparently) . The Groupon offer of 800 sf for $89 looked good but there was a caveat that they wouldn't go beyond 25 miles of their location on Kelly Mill near the Etowah River. I called and no problem as I'm near the Dawsonville Outlet Mall. First thing I noticed was how professional the young lady who answered the phone was. She was friendly, articulate and genuinely happy to have my business, Groupon and all, and set me up with an appointment Monday morning (I called Friday afternoon) Sunday evening we got all the small furniture out of the rooms to make it easy. The appointment was for 11 am but the technician, equally professional, showed up early and went straight to work measuring the rooms - told me up front what the additional square footage would cost (30 cents/sf) and the stairs ($45) then went around with a urine detector and found a few "accident" spots courtesy of our new puppy. While I went to lunch for an hour he did his thing and when I got back he was packing up and the carpet looked great. It was still damp but he told me I could walk on it with clean feet. 6 hours later it is dry and furniture back in place (he moved the big pieces that he could). Overall a positive experience, only a short interruption to my work-from-home day and clean carpet for $200.. Well, with 4 animals around it will be for a little while anyway.
