I started bringing my eldest daughter to Dr. Calagos in November of 2015,and we haven't turned back. Dr. Calagos is caring, informative, and very willing to answer any and all questions. She genuinely cares about children and their health. I ask a lot of questions but I never felt like I was bothering her. My first couple of years there I did have some serious issues with one of the front desk staff, she was just very rude and unprofessional. However, it seems like she is no longer working there and the front desk staff is great! Isidra is always so helpful. I now bring my two children here, and I am very happy with them. Sometimes their is a wait but they are always willing to accommodate last minute schedule changes, so I totally understand. Will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

There's no game of telephone and they follow through on requests without issue. This alone shows how well run the office is and how much they value their patients. Our main doctor was Dr. Brian Chung but depending on the day, we may see one of the different doctors who practice there. The doctors who we have seen are all very good but with different pros. Each doctor has listened to our concerns and addresses them patiently. The doctors are also very thorough and like to schedule follow ups to ensure your child is progressing if they are sick. They will also run tests to ensure an accurate diagnosis and prescribe medication for the comfort of your child. Some parents might not need this hands on approach but I like the certainty of knowing my child's diagnosis (even if it is just the common cold!). If your insurance coverage is not comprehensive or if you have high co-pays this might be something to consider. Pre-COVID the waiting area was often full and the wait could be quite a while (the downside of a popular office!) but during/post COVID, wait times have decreased dramatically as has the occupancy in the waiting room. They now also offer televisits which has been a great way to do any quick follow up visits without leaving home. After visiting another doctors office that is closer to our home, we realized how caring and personal this office is and that is truly invaluable. Hoping that this office always retains these great qualities!

Administrative staff is generally pleasant to work with, guess it depends if they're having a rough day which can impact their moods but my interactions with the administrative staff have been pleasant. The nursing staff is a hit or miss. Alyssa has been our favorite and go to every time is possible. She greets kids with a genuine smile and make them feel comfortable during exams to ease their anxiety because we all know babies, toddlers and young kids require lots of patience. Please ask for Alyssa to assist the next time you go, you'll understand why she's great. There another nurse by the name "Lona" who I would not recommend at all. First time we saw her, she was obnoxiously rude, rolled her eyes and scoffed at every reaction when my, then, barely 2yo didn't listen. Sorry but at 2, it's quite uncommon for one to stay still and listen to a complete stranger without fear and inevitable crying. Lona had zero patience, zero tolerance and zero respect for anyone (no eye contact given, no explanation of anything). At that time, I gave "Lona" the benefit of the doubt because she could have been having a bad day. We saw her again and her mannerism did not change, still rude, still shows a lack of respect, very unprofessional and mean which warrants this review. My daughter is terrified of her. Lona could not complete the examination and stormed out of the exam room (rolling eyes and huffing and puffing again) without telling us anything. She was administering a hearing test and a bit rough with my daughter, so as a parent I intervened. I made the request for Alyssa to please come and help out. My daughter was very compliant with Alyssa as she has gentle hands and a warm heart. Completed the hearing test with no issues and Dr Yee completed the physical exam with no issues either. Kids are very telling, if they fear someone they will indicate so. I'm writing my feedback as a heads up to parents (Lona is the nurse who wears a ton of makeup) Suggest this nurse get some training on improving her work etiquette and learn how to deal with children in a doctor's office setting stat! They are charging $560 for a nasal flu test and $415 for the office visit. After insurance adujsting, they charge me $456.89. They didn't tell me a nasal fue test would cost $560. To disput this bill is hard. The phone number on the bill is connecting to Optum billing department. They asked me to call Dr's office or my insurance company. The lady Mrs. Kin(or Kim) in charge of bill from the Dr's office didn't answer my question. She asked me to have my insurance company to do a 3 ways call with her. So I called my insurance company and set up the 3 ways call at the time Mrs. Kin suggested, but she didn's answer the phone. Tried to dial 3 times, no one answered the phone. I have been kicked back and forth on the phone calls. I sent many messages via MyChart billing, but were ignored or only answered as noticed, checking. The only Email I am getting from them is a over due notice that not allowed an reply(noreply@optummedical.com). My disputing of this bill is totally ignored. As a loyal customer for over ten years, I have been paying their high amount of bills without delay, paying their $10 charge of forms many times. This bill is the last straw that overloads the camel. I would not recommend this practice to any parents.

Don't park at the mall since you might get towed however there are a decent amount of street parking within a 3 block radius. The entrance is right at the bus stop so do not drive into any of the parking lots! Stop right at the bus stop and you will see a path from the sidewalk to the side of the apartment building. There is a small sign by the sidewalk so it can be easy to miss.

It's nice to see a doctor that genuinely cares about their job and the patients they see. Getting in contact with her is always simple. She returns all phone calls, and in case of an emergency she'll give you her cell. She takes her time answering questions and doesn't make the visits feel rushed. It was also important to me that I found an office with a good vaccine policy. No one wants to bring their children around other kids who don't vaccinate, so I'm glad she respects that. The office is new, clean, and comfortable. The only downside would be the attitude of the receptionist. She doesn't seem very interested in her job and talking to her feels like you're being a bother, but it's just one small hiccup. Highly recommend!
