I notice that this shop is also listed at some websites, and even at Yelp, under its alternate name of Astrology Shop NY, with the same address on Lispenard St. and the same phone #.
Before I start my review, here is information about me if you haven't yet read any of my other reviews of psychics. In addition to being a scientific/engineering consultant, I'm a mystic, a spiritual healer and an intuitive. When I travel, I usually get readings from at least 2 or 3 local psychics -- all of them total strangers to me before the start of the reading -- in the city I am visiting.
Since I'm a mystic and spiritual healer, my life is filled with Divine love and grace, and I'm happy and very much at peace. I want to stress the fact that when I make visits to local psychics during my travels, I am not seeking help with any problems, nor answers to questions, nor am I seeking spiritual guidance. Rather, I visit them and ask for a general life reading simply because God asks me to do so, and to have a fun way of connecting with other practitioners in the realms of the metaphysical arts, for I see them as metaphysical colleagues.
So, when reading my reviews of psychics here, it may be VERY helpful for you to bear in mind that I did not visit them with any problems, serious questions, nor wishes in mind, nor with any "neediness". Due to this fact, your own experience with the same psychic might be very different than mine. In other words, your mileage may vary (from mine)! Further, my reviews of all psychics are for their psychic readings only, and never for any additional services that they might offer, such as healings, cleansings, or spiritual guidance.
During a recent stay in NYC, I was guided by God to seek readings from 3 or 4 psychics, and one of them was this shop.
After having found Lauren's shop listed on the web, I called her number one afternoon to schedule a reading for some time in the next day or two. It was then about 5 PM, and she told me that she was, unfortunately, booked for the rest of the day, and we started to set up an appointment for mid-morning on the next day, when suddenly, she volunteered to re-schedule an appointment that she had tor 7PM, and she gave me the 7PM appoinment time, that is, in about two hours time. I ate a quick dinner and walked down to Lauren's shop for my 7PM reading.
As is always my practice when getting a reading from a psychic, this was a cold reading. So, I told Lauren, prior to the start of the reading, only my first name, the fact that I was born and raised near NYC, and that I now lived in Maryland, and that I was staying in NYC for 7 days. I told her nothing more about myself; I did not reveal any other information about myself until after the reading had ended.
Now, I must pause here to tell you that, because of the fact that I'm a mystic, intuitive, and spiritual healer, I know hundreds of psychics/intuitives from across the world, and have had readings from well over 200 of them over the years, including from internationally-famous psychics such as the recently-departed Bella Karish in LA (around 1995; she was great!)
With that background established, I want to tell you here, clearly and firmly, that my reading from Lauren (aka Lauren, Spiritual Advisor) was the best reading that I've ever had in my life, and I have had some extremely good readings, from some of the best psychics & intuitives in the world!
Lauren's reading was amazing! She is an amazingly-gifted psychic. One of the first things that she disclosed during our reading was that she saw that I was a mystic and a powerful psychic/intuitive myself, and that my life was very blessed and full of Divine Grace, and that I live my life in surrender to God, and that I receive constant Grace, guidance & assistance from God and my angels and guides.
Every single thing that she told me during the palm & full tarot reading was accurate, and all of her statements were extremely precise and detailed; she never made any vague statements that might have fit a great percentage of men my age (as some mediocre psychics sometimes attempt to do...!).
I've had some extremely good, and accurate, psychic readings in my life, including excellent readings from two other storefront psychics in Mahnattan, who like Lauren, seem to be of old school Old World Gypsy/Romani origins, but I have almost never in my life had a reading as good, accurate, detailed and clear, as the one delivered for me by Lauren in early July!
BTW, Lauren told me after the reading had ended that the reason that she'd suddenly reversed course during our earlier phone call and then scheduled my reading for later the same evening was that she'd suddenly had a psychic insight telling her that I was a mystic and psychic myself, and that we were destined to meet, and soon!
Incidentally, I liked Lauren's reading so much that I visited her again two days later for a second full tarot deck reading; this second reading too was excellent. read more
