My property manager recommended Security on Demand Services to me. She had used their security…read moreservices and said they were "great!" She had used them to provide security at different residential property locations. I called and spoke to Leon. I had never used a security service before so I didn't know exactly what to expect. But Leon was very polite and answered all my questions. The price was reasonable. He provided security escort services to me while I attended a DC court hearing. He did a wonderful job. I will use his security services again in the near future. I highly recommend this company for reliable, trustworthy and safe security services.

First, I am not writing this review to discourage anyone from learning CPR...it is a very important…read moreand lifesaving piece of knowledge to have and I encourage everyone to learn it. However, I just have to give a warning for those of you out there who are HEALTHCARE professionals looking for a renewal class. DO NOT take this class at this school, especially with the instructor Cathy!! I am sure outside of class that Cathy is a nice enough lady, but she was the worst instructor I had ever had and I have been taking CPR for HC professionals for years in various locations. Her teaching style leaves a lot to be desired as she uses public humiliation to get her point across. Case in point, she makes every participant demonstrate in front of everyone until she is satisfied with your technique. And if you can't get it right, she will chastise you in front of your peers. Furthermore, her class is INCREDIBLY too long - we began at 830am sharp and I did not leave her class until after 130pm...and I was one of the first to be done with my written skills test. I am just sorry for those who took longer to complete the test! Adding to the incredibly long class, she took 45 minutes in the beginning of class for housekeeping....."signature here, signature there, wash your hands, let us all introduce us to each other, blah...blah" The class room is also in a very claustrophobic location, the ceiling was so low that I could touch it (I'm 5'4") and it has no windows. We also had no breaks aside from one 5 minute break for water and granola bars - which she provided, which was nice of her. But to top it off, she did not have us watch the usual video from the American Heart Association as she claimed the "machine was broken." When one of my fellow students offered up his laptop to show the DVD, she refused. I think she just wanted to hear herself drone on and on. This class took up almost my entire Saturday and went at a snail's pace for all of us who have taken the class before (i.e. renewers). I can't recommend this class as it was not a good example of a AHA sponsored class that usually takes 3 hours, tops! Avoid if possible.

I called here to find out if they had any upcoming home inspection classes. The woman who answered…read morethe phone said that they did. I asked when the class would begin and how much was it. She gave me the dates and prices. She said 5 or more people would need to pay to make sure the class was happening. I was fully prepared to come into their office and pay. She asked me "You want to be a home inspector?" And then proceeded to laugh at me. I guess because I'm a woman, that's a silly thing for me to want to do. I said never mind and hung up. Needless to say, I won't be using this company. They don't respect people and their aspirations.

I had a lot of hope my experience with this place would prove to be worthwhile. I genuinely wished…read moreto be a long term customer, if the service was trustworthy and quality. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My tax preparer was Leonard Gbekie, he started friendly and then afterwards was not respectful. Refused to answer my calls, was continuously unclear. Then after l asked for a call he ignored my request and proceeded to text me. Then after I requested once again the next day he proceeded to respond condescendingly. And further refused to clarify. As a member of the military, I do value clear communication and promptness. Both of which Leo failed to meet. I asked for my documents back and to discontinue business with which he responded by further trying to speak down on me. He was what felt like continuously rude, inconsiderate, and unkind. I genuinely would veer away from doing business with their company. Do your research and take your business elsewhere. I paid almost $1000 dollars for my taxes to be completed and the service I got was absolutely awful. Do not make the same mistake. Update: I was willing to leave this review and leave with my refund and move on. But upon stumbling across Mr. Gbekie's response which felt dishonest, I believe more details are necessary for my honest review. I want the truth about my experience to be shared His response felt like an attempt at discrediting myself, misguiding others, and trying to save face. One thing I cannot support is anyone or business I feel is dishonest in any form. Accountability is what I value and respect, that was not given to me here with this business. At every step I tried to be communicative, understanding, and kind. I was never late, always respectful, and very clear in communication when he unfortunately overstepped a boundary. I did not threaten him once. After repeatedly letting him know he had burned our business relationship and lost my trust, I repeatedly asked for a refund. He was acting shady and refusing to do so. At that point I let him know I will 100% get law enforcement involved in order to right the situation and protect myself. Below are simply texts indicating how I communicated. I was polite, short, and sweet. And then once my trust was lost and I found myself having to explain information based on what I perceived as his lack of understanding and distrust-worthy behavior. From changing hours listed on their google, to forcing me to text in the first place, to talking down on me. Lots of what felt like condescending, and shady behavior. My text responses are reflective of the trust that was there and then shift once it was lost. Anything else perceived in my messages is purely up to speculation to the reader. But as far as my intention in these messages are simply to show the truth of how I my texts changed based on trust as well as me repeatedly asking for a refund. This review is in no way meant to dissuade future customers, or to put down Mr. Gbekie's character. Simply to outline the truth of my experience and perception of him. I personally will never conduct business with him as I feel he is untrustworthy. That is all. Form your own opinions and perception of him with your own experiences.

Safety 1st is the best training facility I have been to!!…read more The company I worked for used Safety 1st for officers training and the owner Mr. Thornton is the best I've trained under and I have been to many. He is very knowledgeable in all subjects he teaches. He even offers some free training at times. My company signed up for training on two subject matters and we just happened to be talk about another subject and Mr. Thornton wanted to see if we had been properly trained. Some of us just had not gained the knowledge as we should have on this particular subject. Mr. Thornton gave us the proper training for free. It just shows he cares about the quality of the subjects he educates officers on. In short my colleagues and myself appreciate and were captivated by how Mr. Thornton delivered his education on law enforcement subjects. He makes it fun yet makes you want the knowledge to become a well qualified professional in the law enforcement field. I will definitely spread the word on Safety 1st training. Kudos to Mr. Thornton and his team!!
