I also wanted a super light weight rod and reel to fish with my kids and they helped me pick out a great setup. Turns out it was the exact same one I had picked out on Amazon and it was on sale and much cheaper and I got expert help. We were all stoked! This place is more than a shop, it's an experience. Highly recommended.

They packed the poles and took it to Aloha Cargo that same day. Saturday morning at 7:50am I had the poles in my possession. I was impressed with the guys at New Maui Fishing Supply store how easy and smooth the transaction was handled. They were professional and provided excellent customer service. What took them beyound other companings, is that they called me Saturday morning around 9am to let me know that my poles were mailed to me friday and that I should be getting it in the next day or two. Thats what you call Excellent Customer Service. Something rare these days. Good Job NMFS! You guys get'em!

I also loaded up on some stickers for the car and the bike helmets. Too bad they were out of the "Filipino" logoed tees. You just lost me as a long time customer and supporter. My Ohana and I have been supporting your…read morestore for 10+ years. We are Kama'aina. Almost every time I shop at your store, we show our local IDs to get the 20% kama'aina discount. We spend upwards of $600+ every other month in your Kahului and Kihei stores. I am a Kama'aina. I look local. I sound local. I split my time between CA and Hi for work. My work requires me to have a CA drivers license, I shopped at the Kihei store two days ago and the employees recognized me and gave me the 20% Kama'aina discount. Today I shopped at the Kahului store. Before checking out, I asked the two clerks if I could get the Kama'aina discount (20%). Both said yes. After checking out, I looked at my receipt and noticed I only got a 10% discount. I asked the clerk why it wasn't a 20% discount. I shared that I just shopped at the Kihei store and was given the 20% discount because they recognized me as a regular kama'aina. She said there is a new policy at the beginning of the year that Kama'aina without a HI drivers license would only get 10% discount. I immediately asked the clerk to return my items. I told her I'd come right back with someone from my Ohana to get the 20% discount. I was abruptly told that no returns are allowed. I didn't even move 2' and wasn't allowed a return. I get it that rules are made to be enforced because there are malihini that try to get the Kama'aina discounts. But come on - it's clear that I'm a local - who splits his time between CA and HI and has to have a CA drivers license for work. I try to support local whenever I can. I spend a lot of money in your store and am always buying gifts because I like your brand. However, my extended Ohana & I will no longer be supporting your brand. Many of us are long time supporters. No more.

I'm having a girls trip in Kihei and Costco is really close to the airport. And we just landed, so we grabbed a quick bite. 3 stars for the food. I got the new salmon maki, and I can't recommend it, sorry. My wife got a sandwich from the food court, but it was so small and I can't recommend it either. I was craving a better selection of local beer, but I guess I will just get it from Safeway and Foodland... and yes, I will have to pay more for them. Back in stock, the giant ono shrimp chips. Also bought on my 5/29/22 visit and it was very underwhelming especially for $11!!! Now $12.49, 4.5 years later. Not bad, sold... Stocked up on Hawaiian snacks that are not available on the mainland. My wife wanted to also do as much of her/our souvenir shopping on our first day, so we can relax and do less the following weeks. Also got gas here during out 2+ week trip.
