THIS IS A REVIEW FOR PARENTS OF TODDLERS/YOUNG KIDS…read more The complaint I have is actually regarding the way they approached my toddler's care. 1. Asked on the phone if they could treat a young child of two years (the answer on the phone was yes, and to bring them in during my appointment). However when I arrived with them they seemed to be very uncomfortable with a young child and the doctor actually didn't look at their teeth, but instead one of the hygienists who "used to work at a pediatric dentist" did. 2. The teeth staining I had concern about (because they can lead to decay and infection) I was told was not a big concern. I was also advised against using fluoride toothpaste and to keep brushing their teeth using baby toothpaste. No additional instructions were given until they could spit better. At the time I felt informed and that my concerns were answered, but this was me putting too much trust in them I think, and how they present themselves as a "family dentistry for all ages". 3.My toddler now has two cavities because of following this advice (or lack of advice). I tried to do the right thing and go to a professional in advance, but I didn't get that here. I am extremely disheartened and wish I had skipped this place and brought my child to a pediatric dentist back then. My toddler is very likely facing oral surgery now because I was given false assurance that things were fine. *Please if you are a parent concerned about your young toddlers teeth look into a pediatric dentist first or at least make sure the doctor will actually look at your child's teeth as he didn't look at my child's directly. You could save yourself from a very unwanted and preventable situation!* My care for my own teeth was very good here, which is why it makes me especially sad that this situation happened because it seems as though they are kind enough and skilled enough but simply didn't take the situation seriously for my child . I have no issues with the care of my teeth, but I would never recommend this place for a young child's care based on my experience.

Best news is I was able to find 2 other trustworthy practices able to give me standard cleanings and assured me I did NOT need special periodontia treatment as my teeth are in very good shape.**

Here's the correct one. " She said no. There was no further discussion on the subject as far as she was concerned. Funny thing, about a month later, I got a text message from the billing department at Dream Dental with "good news." They DID bill the correct policy number and got back over $800 in fees I had already paid. They asked if I wanted the check sent to me. I said yes. That was November 2024. I was so happy to have an extra $800 or so for the holidays! No check in November. No check in December. No check in January. I even called twice to follow up, and both times they acted like they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. I just hung up...I don't get into back-and-forth with people who are clearly jacking me around. Then it occurred to me. I had a cleaning scheduled in February 2025, and they are SITTING ON that money till I come in to put it towards other services they tell me I need. I called and cancelled the cleaning appointment without saying anything else. Guess what!?! The check arrived 3 days later.

I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by the way this dental office handled my mother's…read moretreatment and insurance. My mother is a Humana insurance member, and she was charged thousands of dollars for dental crowns that should have been covered. The office either failed to verify her insurance benefits properly or deliberately misled her about coverage. After being concerned about the high out-of-pocket costs, my mother sought a second opinion at a different dentist. To our shock, we were told that the crowns are fully covered under her Humana plan and should never have required such a large payment. This raises serious ethical concerns about the practices at this office. Either they are not competent enough to properly process insurance claims or they are intentionally overcharging patients for procedures that should be covered. This is not just frustrating--it's financially and emotionally damaging to patients, especially seniors on fixed incomes. I strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any major work here and to verify everything independently with your insurance provider. We will be reporting this office to Humana and the appropriate state dental board. Patients deserve transparency and honesty--not predatory billing.

Having been a faithful patient of another dentist (now retired) for almost 30 years, I'm relieved to find a new "home" with Dr Angulo, who was highly recommended by a reputable periodontist (along with my partner who's been a patient here since 1985). Allison (hygienist) is gentle, thorough and pleasant. Dr. Angulo is personable, highly-experienced, and has shown a thoughtful approach in evaluating a cosmetic issue around a tooth implant I've had for over 25 years. Compared to my prior dentist, TPDA has noticeably more modern technology, that seems more effective and efficient in assessing my overall dental health. Strongly recommend asking about their TPDA Club program - great value.

I felt comfortable moving next door for my X-rays and cleaning session. Young, energetic staff, had the process flowing smoothly. He became my primary dentist and put together a plan with an orthodontist, a maxillofacial surgeon and a periodontist. He decided I needed gum grafts, which were a success. I got braces, which were a success. Then I had double corrective jaw surgery, which was not only unsuccessful but has left me with permanent, searing nerve pain. After I had the surgery, I was informed that Dr. Schmitt was no longer practicing as a regular dentist but only doing restorative work. He told me to find another dentist and to come back when I needed a full mouth restoration. He, quite literally, abandoned me mid-stream with the plan he had laid out for me. Odd, don't you think, for a professional who claims "heartfelt compassion"? For a dentist who It seems to me that, the minute he realized there was a complication in my treatment, he didn't want to be involved, although he had been deeply involved before. Doesn't sound compassionate to me. I was fortunate to find another dentist to take care of my teeth but the whole "plan" that had been laid out for me was dropped. I don't believe a responsible dentist, or any responsible health professional, would drop a patient in the middle of treatment because he decided he didn't want to practice that part of his profession any longer. In my opinion, I don't believe his treatment of me was ethical or compassionate.

Dr. Schmitt is very expensive for sure -- most other dentists, periodontists and maxillary surgeons do not even charge for a 2nd opinion or an estimate for a dental plan. Dr. Schmitt charges a whopping 343 dollars for this. But this is NOT why I writing this....... this man is creepy. He took legitimate photos of my mouth with a female technician assisting him. But then he took some photos when NO female technician was in the room -- at the time I wasnt really processing it and tried to blow it off. But in reflection -- the photos were a very bizarre pose with my mouth OPEN and really did not seem to be clinically relevant AT all... I have asked for ALL the photos--- he ONLY sent me the photos that were taken with the female tech in the room, HOWEVER, he STILL has not sent me the creepy photos in question. It has been 2 WEEKS since I have asked for those particular photos -- -- I asked for them twice and asked the office staff as well... CRICKETS.
