We went to Lowe's to purchase a water heater on February 21, 2026 because our water heater had a…read moresmall leak. Lowe's sent our order to Dragonfly for same day installation. We put in an order for the water heater we wanted. Lowe's told us we would get our Military Discount when the installation company Dragonfly picked up and installed the Water Heater. Dragonfly contacted us within minutes of placing the order at the store and told us not to purchase the water heater from Lowe's because they would do the pickup of the water heater and bring it to our house. They wanted us to leave Lowe's right away and take pictures and send them to Dragonfly. They then said a technician would meet us to do this. They then said they would bring a water heater from Lebanon to install. It was not the one we wanted. We told them the one we wanted was at the St. Robert store. They kept telling us it was not in stock. We told them we would go with them to show them it was available. The technician agreed to do this and Dragonfly called him and refused permission for him to do this. He then said they had it in stock at Lebanon and he was going to get it. We needed a water heater that day and they knew this. So they brought a water heater they already had and was not the one we wanted and began the installation. The technician then proceeded to break the main water pipe. He ran upstairs to frantically inquire where was the location of the water shut off. We went downstairs to find an inch of water covering the entire laundry room. We grabbed as many towels as possible and started mopping up water. The technician called other technicians to look for a Shop-Vac. He said a technician was on the way and he was helping with the clean-up at this point. We called our son in law and he came over right away with his Shop-Vac and started helping. The technician then quit helping clean up the water which had spread to the carpet in the hallway and the family room. Another technician showed up. He also did not have a Shop-Vac and didn't help with the clean-up. So, we got a water heater we didn't choose, a mess of water damaged carpet and furniture that was sitting in the water, and they refused to give us the military discount the store said they would. Dragonfly refused to compensate anything for the clean up and the water damage and Lowe's says it's not their fault. They each keep sending us back to the other one in a round robin giving us no help or compensation. Neither wants to take responsibility for the mess they created!

I explained to him what I was trying to build, and he took me directly to an aisle that had all the parts I was looking for. He helped me find a few specific pieces to make everything work and even made a couple of suggestions once he saw what I was putting together. He went straight to all the parts needed, and together we assembled exactly what I was looking for. he probably saved me 20-30 minutes of shopping time. now THAT is customer service!

We were pleased with Lowes but having strong competition is a good thing and Menards is a very strong competitor. Their selection and service is excellent and I've found their employees knowledgeable and helpful. I'd rather get their promotions as sales instead of rebates but understand why they do it. Once I had an issue with a rebate not arriving and it took a couple tries but they solved it. During this pandemic I've got to emphasize the app. It's great to just pull up and all my shopping items are ready. I think you can also do it via the website. I'm going to keep using it after this is all over. One piece of advice for Menards -- it needs to be possible to pay with rebates and return credits via the app and website. You have numbers on these things so it should be doable. That will increase use of the app. It might already be possible but it wasn't obvious. Bottom line: I'll keep using them and am grateful they came to town. :-)

So she said I will make your 6 of each of these but we don't have the other ones. So I said no thank you I will try WALMART only other choice at that time, So I go to Walmart seen 3 kids standing around by the sporting goods desk and asked if they knew how to make keys they said yes sir and never missed a beat got all done perfect.
