seriously what a sh!t hole! Absolute crap on all the shelves...it's like a hillbillies garage sale! I needed some cheap stuff for an apartment I'm staying in for a handful of months so I was thinking salvation army and my search brought me to this dump! Seriously used garbage that must have come from those bins on the street. I wouldn't have minded so much a I was just looking to grab a toaster, microwave, dishes, silverware, etc. I'm amazed what they charge for this crap...they are delusional! 4 bent, cheesy, cheap forks...3$...sets of chipped, ugly plates, bowls, cups...upwards of 25$...toasters that were dirty as hell and falling apart upwards of 25$. I could go to target and buy NEW cheap stuff for around the same prices! My advice...there's a salvation army in Hempstead...avoid this place so you don't catch cooties! lol read more

It feels like it's 1975 inside of this place, maybe even earlier. I recently visited two cologne booths and they each had a nice selection of men's colognes. The prices were reasonable and the saleswomen were pretty helpful. Someone's review mentioned that they were selling knock-offs. I verified the serial and lot numbers on both of my purchases. They were legit and I got them for very competitive prices. Overall, I'm happy with my purchases. The mall itself needs a facelift. read more

I love this thrift store. Located in the bottom floor of the Tri-County Flea market, it has clothes, shoes, and accessories for men, women and children. I come here as often as possible for great buys on a lot of different items. I'm a thrift fanatic and will scan every part of the store for bargains, because you never know what you might find here. Prices are so reasonable, and once a week they have customer appreciation day (25% off everything). In the past six months, I have found lots of great buys on brands such as Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Guess, Crocs, EMS, Lands End, and Levi"s. On my last trip, I bought two pairs of jeans (one Gap and one Levi's), an LL Bean tote bag (the cute tiny one), and a gorgeous, practically brand new Vera Bradley wallet (on sale on the VB website for $30.00), all for a mere $32.00. Expecially noteworthy, although I haven't needed it yet, is the section for dresses. Some of them are gorgeous - probably worn once, and a great buy if you have a wedding or party and don't want to spend a fortune. (Note: My washing machine has a special "sanitize" cycle for both hot and cold washes - I run everything through it as soon as I get home). Ahhhhh the old Tri-county "fleabag" as we used to call it. I moved out of the area back in 97' and that was the last time I have been here. I was in town for a wedding and decided to stop in, not because I needed something but just for nostalgia's sake. Man oh man what happend to that place? Like many of the other reviewers here, I grew up at the flea market, the sights the sounds, the smells(good ones). Pretzels and pickles, the hustle and bustle of the crowds, and it was always crowded.The weird way it was only open on Thursday and Friday and the weekends (except at Christmas). Now its a SHELL of that place, grouchy vendors pedaling useless junk, a giant thrift store, peddling useless junk. Every booth looks the same, the same cheap crap over and over again.The food vendors look gross and dirty and miserable. The place was a ghost town by the standards I remember from the 90's Back then the fleamarket served a purpose, it sold stuff you needed cheap, and that formula worked, throw in a hot pretzel and it was a good day. It may sound weird but there was always a buzz of joy in the air, now its just sad and depressing. I cant imagine that place lasting that much longer, I heard a ton of the jewelers left due to rent issues, the floor was dead when I was there. I guess for some people this place works. For me, I rather see a Barnes n Nobles or Whole Foods in this area. They really need to make this shopping center more appealing all the way down from the old Ballys. The CVS has a nice new building across the street making more money that it used to because it is much more appealing now to shoppers. read more

I have been shopping at tri-county jewelry exchange for many years. I really dislike what they have done with the building downstairs since it was taken over by the new owners. It lost a lot of vendors, customers and charm. Upstairs, however, is a jewelry wonderland. Unlike a lot of the other comments about staying on the low end price and buying only small pieces of jewelry, I have bought all different pieces at different price ranges and found the vendors that I bought from to be helpful, and reputable. I have had some of the pieces I purchased, appraised by very detailed jewelers outside the exchange and found that I have gotten very good deals on good quality merchandise. I shop there with confidence and find the selection to be excellent. Though I think the main level has taken a downturn, I find the jewelry portion of the exchange to be very high quality. read more

Tri county has the best prices on jewelry. I have been going there for about 6 years now.

Flea market jewelry booths are packed with all kind of chemical tanks and I think it creates very unsafe and unhealthy environment. I don't think they have good ventilation there. I noticed that I am getting dizzy while I am in jewelry exchange. read more

It was great when it first opened. Was just there today (Aug 12). $80.00 for framed art! A vanity mirror ( not real wood) for $25.00! 70 bucks for used no name camera lenses! There was a set of rusted out plates for dumbells. It said $5.99. Finally, something great. A little more looking around and I found out that each rusty plate in the 5 to 10 pound range was 6 bucks a piece. Really!? There was a cast iron grilling type skillet about 10 inches across for $30.00. I could go to Marshall's and probably get the same one for half the price. Shame on you Unique Thrift stores! Oh and yeah, $69.99 for a classical guitar. A crummy one at that. The finish/varnish on it was horrible and it looked like junk. What the heck happened to them? I used to love going there until someone got greedy (i hope not). read more

I been here like three time. I will never go again to this store. I travel all over, to buy use furniture to help others, that are in need. After Sandy, I wanted to star buying use furniture. To help those in need..But this store on 06/10/2013 I spend the whole day, Cause the employees at this place some one who did my exchange , didn't know was he was doing.Some of my receipts got lost. And no one didn't know what happen with my receipts . On that Monday they took for ever, It stared to rain I left without my furniture , I was so upset before moving the from the place. I ask them to give me my money back. On the same day and furniture was still there. Left the store without the future on 6/10/2013 on the same day upset because I had to cll my house to make arrangement to pick my son from school.I left the store about 6:00PM .I had to change one of the file from beige to black , Cause some of the employee was upset. Lock the file cabinet. Tuesday i had to get prepare for procedure at the Doctor office. I call that nite to tell I was unable to go pick up my stuff due an procedure I done. The manger was so rude just like the others, Tommy n Jimmy. I go on Thursday of the same week And show him the receipts, And he tell me I can't take the furniture due to the receipts , some of them was missing . I tell him you dont remember what happen to me on Monday, I spend the whole day. You had left with one of my receipts. He tell me does not remember. At that point I was very upset, and I tell him I not taking none of the furniture with me. I want my money .And he tell me if you would had all the receipts, I will give the money back. This is the store manger . I then tell him this is my Cell# have the boss call me. No one call me. I CALL THE MANAGER ON SATURDAY 6/22/2013. I Talk with rude manager and unprofessional personal. He even had hung up the phone on me. Again on Sunday I driven there , he tell me I have to speak with Jimmy another unprofessional person, so is Tommy and all there people's working upstairs . Waste of my time . Tell me I have to speak with Jimmy. The person which never call me. I had never felt disrespected in my life , like this men's had spoken to me . I assume they did n,t like me for who I was or come from.I had taken Photos of all my furniture. I just want my money back. I will never step foot in this store. read more
