I love to thrift, find good antique shops, and tag sales. I happened to be browsing Yelp after an estate sale in the area and saw "Tri County Bazaar." I didn't really know what to expect because of the mixed reviews, but this place is cool. Fried food, dress shops, watch repair - it seems like most people who shop here come with intention. On the right side when you walk in, there is a tag sale stall. A large area with secondhand goods for very cheap prices. You could find almost anything here, similar to what you might find at Goodwill (but better). The real treat was the section with ceramics and dishes. Loads of branded dish sets from the UK and Europe - full sets for less than $3 a plate. You may not always find something, but worth browsing if you're looking for a steal. I got a set of 6 plates that I later identified as 100 year old Limoges dinner plates made in France.

Great place. I have been visiting for the last 8 years. I have found many items. In really mint condition

I absolutely love coming here. This place has here since before yelp, even the Internet was a thing, I came here when I was 15 years old. And now I'm 41 bringing my 3 year old for the first time. Stores have come and gone over the years, but for the most part, the overall charm is still the same.. dirty floors, water stains on the wall smell of popcorn and candy in the air knock off bootleg toys stapled onto a 10 inch piece of cardboard people who run their stores, barely able to speak English, but are more welcoming, warm and pleasant than most people I have met, in your typical run-of-the-mill stores. Love this place. If you ever loved the feeling you had in the mid to late 90s going into a fleamarket this is the place to go.

Great place for selection and finding niche items. However the security team is super unprofessional and kicked me and my service dog out and asking for identification. this surprised me as the ADA does not require documentation and they said everyone else has documentation and showed them. I tried educating but they were still insistent. My dog was serving no threat and was quietly listening to my commands when we were moving around or stopping. They also threatened to called the police. I would understand if my dog was barking and being reactive but she wasn't because she's a service dog... To the security manager, its illegal to ask anyone for identification for their service dog.

I am a fan. Random stuff, some stuff broken, but super cheap and the perfect place to find the most random items you may need.

I was upset to see vintage makeup outside melting in the oppressive heat - the furniture outside LOVELY - a cabinet with marble top was divine. Wicker chest of drawers. Records galore inside. DVDs outside. Piles of clothes if that's your jam. I overheard the more you buy the less you pay ??? I paid 20 bucks for 9 miscellaneous items.

This place is cramped to the max with everything you can imagine from decades past: costume jewelry, canvas paintings, sports pennants, it doesn't stop. They do have newer items such VHS tapes and DVD's stashed in the back. The manager will price everything when you go to check out, but his prices are very reasonable, and the more you buy the better deal he'll give you. He must be good at math. I like people who are good at math. Not a long walk from the Valley Stream LIRR station. Totally worth the trip from the City or Brooklyn. And yes, you can Uber back to the train station with your take! There's on one reason not to love this place: you're extremely claustrophobic. Oh no, what did I write?! Stay away, leave everything for me!

Sort of like mini physical history books.... However, if you saw my place you might think I was a minimalist (depending on the day I last feverously cleaned, of course). I don't collect very much, but I like to look.... and unlike many situations I can look AND touch. Woo! Wandering in to LIFEC's space is like going through a giant garage sale in an senior apartment complex basement at the end of the month when everyone moves out. Sure, there's junk but you'll also stumble upon so. many. TREASURES! Do you have an empty bedroom that needs something of interest? They probably have a set of nightstands, or a bench to put your shoes on. Maybe even a swanky vintage dresser from the 40s? Live out your mid century modern dreams, or collect pieces to create your own story. I've wandered in to search for props for parties (maps, globes, vintage luggage for a bridal shower!), to fill the gap in spaces in my own place (unique beer steins are where it's at) and even to get some basics (A set of folding chairs! A must have PRE-COVID). Prices are higher than a garage sale, for sure. I know you CAN haggle with them but I honestly won't. They're a charity/nonprofit. The last time I spoke with the owner I could tell both him and his staff had huge hearts. They honestly care about people and need as much resources (and capital) to bring about the the most change... Stop in. You won't regret it! Even if you don't take any treasures home.
