I would recommend coming here to check what they have before going to a main chain store. Some are cheaper than the big orange box store. Sometimes not but there is usually overall a good selection of tools for a very good price. Recently I visited Haney Builder Supplies and attempted to make a $20.00 purchase and was informed my account was suspended. While in the store I called my office and was advised that payment was mailed. Knowing this I asked to speak to their accounting department and was advised they would not be in the office until next week and they would contact me. I left my business card. Monday I returned to Haney Builders Supplies and again asked to speak to their accounting department and this time was told they were busy and they would contact me, once again I left my business card. 3 days has passed, I returned to Haney Builders Supplies, asked to speak to their accounting department, as this matter needed to be cleared up, and again, I was told by the counter staff that their accountant was busy and they would contact me. Frustrated, I told them I wanted to close my account. Again, 3 days later, I returned to Haney Builders Supplies and asked to speak to their accountant and the staff at the service desk called the accounting department, again, I was told they were busy and would contact me as soon as possible. Next day I received an email from their Credit Manager saying "per your request we have closed your account for Active Auction Mart. NEW ADDRESS!! 2856 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2G7…read more Bright, well laid out aisles, neatly stocked with various homewares and more than enough hardwares to do most home repairs and/or projects. But of course not for major renovations or decorating projects - for those you'd want to go to Home Depot, where I'd many times get bewildered and lost amongst all the variety and choice of items. Here, the staff is very friendly, helpful and indeed tries to understand what we laymen needs or wants to do, and show what all we need. I guess that since home hardwares are individually owned, that this is the big difference from the big box stores which caters to the trades and more professional carpenters, plumbers and electricians etc. Not particularly cheap but fair prices and welcoming for us amateur gardeners, home decorators and those forced to become their own handyman! By the way, this is their new location - I've gone to their west 4th location for years and was dismayed that I couldn't find it recently! Surprised that they're still showing the old address on Yelp!!

Scuffs everywhere, a slice on the decal on the side (probably from opening box with box cutter?), a nice gouge on the front of the mower deck, oil spilled around oil filler and inside the top of the engine (that will probably make a nice mess when dust and dirt start sticking to it?), even oil spilled on the side discharge chute that was stored inside the grass catcher bag, and no owners manual was given? WTF? I know they mostly deal with landscape companies that aren't too worried about cosmetic stuff (except the oil spilled into top of engine is not good) but as a home owner that likes new stuff to look new, I would never allow them to assemble a new machine ever again (way too easy to do it yourself), not to mention have it serviced there as their work ethics is sadly missing?
