I just got back from Vietnam not too long ago and let me tell you this is hands down the best pho in San Antonio! The owner is so so friendly! He took me to the kitchen showing me how he cook the broth. We had a chat about Vietnam and the food and different style of pho between north and south. At the end of my meal he brought out snacks and insisted on me taking a hand full of them! I believe this pho is only offered on weekends and make sure to ask for the mix. Today, I went in to return/exchange what I discovered to be rotten fruit. There was dark matter on the bottom of the fruit, as shown in the video. The store manager refused to do the return/exchange, and I am left with the thought that customers are then expected to purchase bad fruit from them, with no recourse. Love this store, but do yourself a favor, and get your produce from somewhere else.

It's so beautiful that I like to pick one up to take as a hostess gift whenever I'm invited to a gathering nearby. It impresses and is delicious. If you don't want to pick up food as a gift, check out the deliciously scented candles. You can't walk away empty handed. Also, don't snooze on the gelato station. They offer yummy flavors.

For example, one of their fruit pies is in four different fruit selections. Service, of course, is up to Heb standards so spectacular and this one has the Christmas feel for me. The prices are a bit higher than another HEB, but the selection is different, as well. This makes it ideal for trying to find items that might not be sold in other HEBs.

They have some of the freshest and most beautiful flowers, and they offer the best prices on flowers in San Antonio. I've compared them to local flower wholesalers and TJ still beats them. If you are buying a large amount of flowers make sure to get some of their free buckets which are located by the entrance to the store. It just makes it easier to transport all your flowers. Besides the amazing flowers, their unique seasonal items are always great. I love to discover new snacks or sauces that you can't find at other grocery stores. I like my sauce with vinegar but they were out do I got sweet on the side. Honestly, I didn't use the sauce. The meat was tender and well seasoned. I tasted the sauce and found it really good. Not overly sweet but just right. I probably would dip instead of pour if I decide to try it with the meat next time. So this meal cost me just over $20. I found that a bit pricey for three ribs and a couple pieces of brisket but I've paid more for badly cooked food in this city so I'll leave that be. Service was quick and fact. When the manager, Alexis, was called over to help, she immediately took an aggressive tone with the customer instead of approaching the situation with patience and professionalism. Alexis spoke loudly enough that other customers around us turned to look, and told the woman she would just have to find another way to pay rather than making any real effort to resolve the issue calmly. The woman, who is Black, looked visibly embarrassed. The interaction concerned me enough that I felt I was watching racially motivated treatment. Whether or not that was the intent, the behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. The situation was eventually resolved and the woman was able to complete her purchase, but no customer should have to feel humiliated in a checkout line in front of their children. Even the checker looked embarrassed by what happened. I told him his manager needs to treat people with more kindness. HEB has a great reputation in this community, and that interaction did not reflect it.

This commissary tends to have better options than the one on FT Sam. I have found a lot more of the staple items that I like to get, here at Randolph. Also, any of the times that I have shopped here have not been too crowded, which is nice. The store is very well stocked & clean. The layout is not too bad either & better than other commissaries that I have shopped in. Generally speaking, commissary pricing is usually close to what you would pay out on the normal economy, however I have seen some items that have been higher than say, Walmart or HEB. But, the trade off is that you're not paying tax on your groceries here, so it kind of evens out at times. I also appreciate the fact that the times that I have been here, the self-checkout line has not been insanely long. I imagine it probably can be though, depending on what time of day you are shopping. Fortunately, I live about equal distance between here & FT Sam, so I can easily go to either, since they both have different offerings. However, this will definitely be my go to.
