Came here to get my hair done with my mom on a Thursday and there was customer coming in and out. I was quite the indecisive person but Travis did really well putting up with me. I was really unsure about wanting the bright red color but Travis did his magic and made it less overwhelming. He also recommended products to keep the color. Helen took care of my mom for blonde highlights. They both did a good job and was very nice to talk to. It's a small store but they move swiftly so please don't mind the few minutes wait. I've been coming here for over 5 years and every time is the best experience! They take care of you and help you achieve the hair you want! The vibe is great and genuinely relaxing! I've been cared for like family and no matter how long it's been since i go when i do she remembers me and always takes care of me as if i was family. It's not like those salon that up-charge you for getting the hair you want done. The prices are great and they are very open about how much and the process of everything they are doing. BLEACHED my scalp, PATCHY, said it was "MY PROBLEM". My family and I have been loyal for 2 years and we will NEVER come back here. I love supporting small businesses but they are money hungry/and cut corners here. The photos speak for themself, the manager continuously told me it's my problem I don't like my hair. Now my scalp is flakey from being over processed and have to pay a real salon to fix it. They refused a refund - which I understand time and labor was put into my hair, but the fact that my family has went there 2 years is the most upsetting part. read more

My mother went here a few weeks ago. She got all over red color with cut, dry, and style. Helen did her her. She did a great job. My mother was charged 56 for her total. I went there today, I also had all over red color. Helen did my hair too. My hair is the same length if not shorter than my mothers. I did not get a blow dry or cut or sytle because they were having hair dryer issues due to over usage and this caused the outlet to cut off. I did not want to wait any longer, on top of how busy they were. This all occurred after I waited 23 minutes past my appointment time as well. I was charged 65 dollars. Not appreciated. Originally I went it for highlights but she recommended bayalage. She picked the right color that goes with my skin tone. She spent a lot of time on my hair. I went here bc the prior review. I had the guy cut my hair and now I want to cry. I had the length down to my mid back and it was all one length. I told him just cut a inch off. Very talented hair stylists for a very reasonable price. Brian and Lana, the owners, are great at cutting hair. I used to pay 3x what they charge for a hair cut that was no where near as good. I used to go to Toni and Guy and paid $45 - $50....Trendsetters makes T&G look like those hair cutters inside Walmart stores (no offense to those who get their hair cut at Walmart). Brian has been cutting my hair since 2010 and I have yet to find someone who is as skilled as him with clippers. My haircut is fairly simple with a zero fade but every where else I go they seem to mess it up or the lines are not even. The only reason I have had to go to other places were because of distance but I have literally lived in Denton and Lewisville and driven all the way to South Arlington because of the guarantee that I would get a darn good hair cut at the best price in town. Sure there may be big salons that would charge $40 for my haircut and maybe rub my shoulders a little bit but I can walk into trendsetter and pay $13 and talk sports with Brian and walk out there thinking "man my hair looks good." Give these guys a shot if you need a haircut. I can't speak for women but for guys Brian is a master of his craft. read more

Decided to try here, since one can never get the same person at a place like Great Clips, and Great Clips didn't have any coupons available, while Trendsetter did. Went on a Wednesday afternoon, no one there, so got right in. Vina washed and cut my hair, and did a pretty good job, for a first time customer. Only drawback is the location, which is rather far south from central Arlington than I thought. Very reasonable, and very well kept up, so I recommend giving them a try. read more

i went to this salon and i was donating my hair to cancer people and i told her to cut 10 inches and she cut 12 1/2 and she cut it at an angle and a big piece of hair was sooo short then she asked can i do like little layers or i can make your hair even like you wanted and i didn't want my hair any shorter than she cut so i said do the layers and she didn't listen so it looks like i have a bob in the back of my head and i asked shorter in back longer in the front and i like my hair in the front i just don't like the back read more

This place has the worse customer service ever!!! We've been here a couple times.... I have them the benefit of the doubt but after today I can't believe it. We were waiting and we were up next a lady comes in ask how long and they said 10 mins. So as soon as someone was done we got up and they said o she has an appointment ... I said no she didn't she just said she didn't have one we were up next and the guy was like no I'm done I'll take you I told him your still working on someone . My hair cut experience has been good as long as it is Brian cutting my hair.

Brian and Lana are both very professional and skilled at what they do. Both my husband and I are always completely satisfied with either Lana or Brian doing our hair, whether it's cutting, clipping, coloring, etc. It's always nicely done and very efficiently and reasonably priced. They both own and run this shop in a sort of family style setting, yet you can't miss the beat of efficiency. They are great with names and personal situations, just an extra personal touch showing they care for their customers. They have a 3rd person there who works on commission for them. We've seen 2 different people go through since we started going there sometime in 2013. We personally only prefer Brian and Lana but the other person is okay on emergencies. It's a great place to go and even though making recommendations is supposed to bring more business, I selfishly am hoping it doesn't only because it means more criticism so I share my 2 cents worth to concur with those of us who are part of the happy customer/family. This place runs well on simply word of mouth because there are enough people who are completely satisfied with the service in every way. It's a hidden gem of a place and well worth it! read more

Brian does an excellent job of cutting my hair over the last three or four years and I have problem wavy/straight hair. He's friendly, offers good value and will fit you in if you need a cut that day. The only reason I don't give him five stars is the quality of cut suffers if the place is packed and it can get busy. read more
