First and foremost Jennie is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. When I came back to tweak my hair after our coloring session because it was a little brighter then what I had imagined she was so nice about the whole thing and did an amazing job. When I first came in I asked her for a guy tang inspired hair color and now even 4 months later I'm convinced you couldn't tell the difference between his and her work. I've honestly never had a "hair person" I saw repeatedly and regularly. I'm so glad I found Jennie! Previously I only got a trim about once a year. You can see in the pictures the transformation my hair has made since I started seeing Jennie 4 months ago. I had long black hair (box dyed ) and was itching for change... a pixie actually! To put it candidly, I will follow Jennie anywhere. From when she first started cutting my hair at Maren Karsen Salon over 10 years ago to dying my "do" at McKenzie's Salon in Mansfield most recently, Jennie simply is unbeatable. She colors my hair, she cuts my hair, and she makes me laugh while she does it. It's the best. She really does care about her clients and their hair. She is always making suggestions that would help brighten my look and keep it fresh, whether it's adding highlights, a little bit of feathering, or some thinning to my hair. She understands what looks good on a woman. I trust her professional opinion, take her lead, and somehow she still gives me what I want. As for the cost, Jennie is fair about what she charges. Her prices reflect her wonderful skills, as well as the atmosphere and accommodations of the salon. Not only is Jennie a phenomenal stylist, but she's also a wonderful person. Jennie is always on point with my cut and color! My mom, sister and several other friends all go to her (all with very different hair) and she leaves us all looking great. Jennie was AMAZING! I was visiting a friend in the area from San Francisco but was dying to get my hair done. Jennie asked me a ton of questions, really clarified exactly what I was looking for. There was a snow storm in the area that week and she kept my appointment and worked with my hair for several hours to get it exactly right, even though everyone in the salon had gone home due to the weather. I've never had my hair this short but she did such a great job. I wish I could style it as well as she did, but that's the breaks. :-). I am a former hairdresser, recently moved to Texas from Cali. Needed a Brazilian blowout and cut. I have a very defined bob haircut with a lot of fine hair. I think it's pretty easy to do, but if you cut it badly it shows every mistake. She not only did an excellent job (far exceeded any expectations I had) but she was personable, the salon and her space were luxurious without being stuffy and she managed to carry on a conversation despite of my non-stop chattering (I must admit, I can be a bit verbose) and made me feel like she had heard all my requests but also gave me her full commitment and expertise. I will definitely go back-in fact I pre-booked my next haircut with her. She is busy because she is in demand so I advise you to book ahead. Worth the wait! I went to grab lunch after my appointment and got three compliments in ten minutes from strangers. I won't rate the cost-I don't think people who care about their hair should be nickle and diming a professional such as Jennie. I felt her prices were right on the money.
