I called a few shops that said they took walk ins and they were all booked for the day at 9am. I called fancy cuts and Yen answered and invited me to come on over. Now it's in a shopping plaza and it's not a fancy place by any means. The last time I went to super cuts/famous Sam's or even the last high end places left me sad and upset. So as I walk in and see a barber cutting a kids hair and no one else in the shop I got a lil worried. Then came from the back and was not what I expected compared to boujee shops I've been to lately. I asked her if she could cut dry and she assured me she could. I showed her photos and she immediately said she understood the assignment. I was already in the chair and I just closed my eyes and began to pray. Can you imagine my surprise when I opened my eyes and the excess hair was gone, my hair had movement, and it was so stinking cute!!!! the best part is the haircut was 25 bucks!!!! They have a loyalty rewards program so you get a stamp everytime you go and then a free cut. I have found my diamond in the rough, yen is my new bff and I will continue to see her. The amount of compliments I have gotten in the last 24 hours is freaking crazy! Go see her for a haircut but not too often cause I'll need to get in every so often

Let's get to the point, because that's what reviews are good for. Elizabeth is like a master of controlling disaster when it comes to my hair. I had gotten so frustrated with other stylists elsewhere just hacking my scalp like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre that I actually would buzz and shave my head, to banish the hair, and my despair, away for several months. After the PTSD wore off a bit, I tried going to my wife's salon, and there I met Elizabeth. At first I didn't know how a tall, dark haired, tattooed and pierced woman was going to turn my "situation" around, if you call a train wreck with no follicle survivors a situation, but in the frame of 30 minutes, I went from Quasimodo to a mainly mix of G.I. Joe, Legolas, and Prince Lone Starr from SpaceBalls. As I walked out of the salon, Styx's Renegade blared as a heaven ordained chorus blasted on triumphant axes and drums. My life is forever changed due to my main mane. All thanks to an angelic and quite honestly superiorly talented hairdresser named Elizabeth. My head stays held high, with a quaff of the condor and the spirit of the mountain ram. I am complete. No seriously, she cuts really good hair. read more

Before coming to Hair Bizz I went to Great Clips. They can do a perfectly fine normal guy's cut, but I got tired of that look. I wanted to try something new so I went to Hair Bizz. When I came in I was introduced to Elizabeth Wilson (the best hair stylist ever). I told her want I wanted and she knew exactly how to do it. She told me everything she was going to do and made sure I agreed with everything and liked it before she even got the trimmer out. She is a really nice person and super cool. She did an amazing job and even washed my hair and styled it before I left, something you don't get at Great Clips! Naturally, I have really curly hair. For my hairstyle, it just didn't look that great and took a lot of work to get it looking good. Elizabeth suggested the Keratin straightening treatment and offered a really good deal to do it. She did an amazing job and made my hair straight and really amazing looking. After getting my hair done, I always walk out with a big smile on my face. Make sure you ask for Elizabeth when you go because she does an absolutely amazing job and is super cool! read more

I will admit that I am THE PICKIEST person when it comes to choosing someone to cut my hair, because I hardly ever want to cut it, but I'm also THE CHEAPEST. (which almost never goes hand in hand LOL) I've paid the highs and lows for cuts, and I definitely have had my share of horror stories!!! Luckily, this is not one of them: Emily Thai has her own little room and the rest of the place is a nail/waxing salon. I think she's the only hairstylist there, so I'm sure she has her work cut out for her, but she's pretty fast. I went in and told Emily that I wanted 1/2 an inch off (because I know that usually means 1-2inches in stylist terms), and I was kind of thankful I said that. Emily knows how to maintain the overall length of the hair, but I think because my ends were in bad shape, she tended to cut a lot of shorter layers throughout. Luckily, I'm a fan of layers, so that didn't bother me much (other than the fact that layers make braids look gross, and the side braid is my go-to bad hair day fix up, so if I could take -0.5 stars off for that, I might have lol). BUT If you love layers, which do make great curls/waves (my favorite good hair day style) then EMILY IS YOUR GAL!!! so +0.5 stars for that. I will admit that Emily knows her stuff...my hair felt healthier as soon as I walked out. She added dimension and oomph, without sacrificing the overall length, which would have been a NO NO in my book. The lady after me even said she wanted her hair cut like mine...so that was all the validation I needed. I recommend her to anyone, but if you're not a fan of layers, I would just tell her that upfront. Not to mention, I did have preexisting layers that were probably just stale in her eyes lol; it's my fault that I didn't let her know that I was hoping to eventually grow them out, but she did so well that I can't complain! I will definitely be back, and for $15 it's a guilt-free part from dead ends and a happy ending! Enough of my rambling....go get your hair cut by Emily!

Pricing is very cheap for hair cuts. They charge around $10-12. I used to get my straight bangs cut here all the time when I was little, and the trim would be $5. Once I switched to side bangs, I don't get my hair cut here anymore because they don't do a good job on that (I've tried once), but I watch them cut hairstyles for men and I think the guys always leave with better hair. I think this salon is good for men and also older ladies (it's my grandma's to-go hair salon). It's fine for children as well. The times I've come here, I've never seen them have a young girl in her 20's as a customer, which makes sense. I think it would be better for girls who are all about their hair to get it cut or styled elsewhere. They also do shampooing, perms, and hair dye, but the dye is just an okay job. My mom didn't get the coverage she wanted compared to her DIY at home. I've gotten the back of my hair layered here before, and the layers didn't really look like layers but I did really like the V-cut that my hairstylist did. It's so pretty and even! If I ever get straight bangs again, I'd come back. Even though the cut is always shorter than how I would like it to be, once the bangs grow back within a week, it looks really good and I'm content.
