After a bumpy ride on the Gardiner heading East (god damn construction), my trailer came off my…read moretruck. The coupler was clearly worn down for it to come off like that, and the impact of the jack on the road bent it significantly. I managed to get the trailer to J&J for repairs, with a tight deadline for repairs (2 days). The old coupler & jack were welded in place. They neatly cut out the old coupler & jack, and welded on plates so new pieces could be bolted on in the future. They also replaced the safety hooks (old ones were just S-hooks, they replaced with a more secure style) and one of the sidemarkers. To be honest, I thought I would be hosed for the repairs on such a short schedule- but they completed the work on time for what I consider to be an extremely reasonable price. I couldn't come pick it up during regular hours, so they pulled the trailer to a safe location for me to pick up later. I couldn't be happier with the service from J&J! I have several trailers that I will be bringing in for brakes / maintenance soon.

Letting the kids have free reign over the snacks did wonders for morale, which was perfect for not being able to wash dishes. We ventured northward to a few provincial parks and can't say enough about the endless hiking trails and breathtaking vistas and memories being made as family. Upon returning home and addressing our issues with the owner Amy Verwey, I was thoroughly pleased with her professionalism in smoothing over any bumpy edges. Her communication was absolutely flawlessly and seamlessly executed and beyond fair and reasonable. She addressed our concerns, actioned them swiftly and promptly, and reflected on areas of service where training could be improved. I don't believe one can ask for more when it comes to customer service. One thing one sales person to us was 'don't settle for a lay out you're not happy with' and that dealership didn't have the lay out we wanted. Low & behold Owasco did so putting all the warnings aside we went there. Met Tommie McLaren (905-697-0678 ext. 5002 tommie.mclaren@owasco.com) who had very little work to do because we had been looking for so long then passed us off to the Desk Manager Jacob Roubough (905-697-0678 ext. 5018 Jacob.Rombough@owasco.com) We talked and it seemed good I was half busy dealing with the kids and washroom breaks. He signed papers to have the credit guys call and put $500 down. When we left we got talking and thinking. Regret set in as I got an email about our union still not getting a deal, hockey fees going up and dues before Sept 1 and back to school stuff. All the things!! We decided that we would wait another year. Called them and let them know and they refuse to give us our down payment back. $500 dollars they just decided they should keep. We did not do the credit check as we are very aware it can go against your credit but they keep pushing for us to do it. Just told us that they're keeping the $500.00

The only option is to replace the wheel hub so I went to Springwater Trailers to buy a new one. It turns out tha there are two possible sizes of bearings and I did not know which I had. The trailer was disabled and sitting about a 1 hour drive from here and so this was a problem. The gentleman at Springwater Trailer sold me the new hub at a very reasonable price and then gave me a second set of bearings of the alternate size and an additional seal. He explained to me how to check the size and change the bearings if necessay. He did not charge me for the second set of bearings. He just asked that I bring back the set I did not use. I followed his instructions, changed the hub and today I will return the unused set of bearings and the seal. Over the years I have found that people who trust others are usually also trustworthy.
