The level of unprofessionalism I encountered from both nurses and doctors was unacceptable. Their demeanor was not only rude but dismissive, especially toward patients with a history of mental health struggles or past medical issues such as substance use. Healthcare providers are supposed to offer compassion and care without judgment, yet here I felt the opposite--treated as "less than" simply because of my medical history. Every patient deserves dignity, respect, and proper medical attention, regardless of their past. To be spoken to in a condescending tone and made to feel like a burden instead of a human being seeking help is not just unprofessional, it is dangerous. If you or a loved one need urgent care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. No one should have to leave a medical facility feeling worse than when they walked in--emotionally or physically. This clinic urgently needs to re-examine its staff training, ethics, and standards of patient care. * GO TO PRISMA!! LEXINGTON HOSPITALS/URGENT CARES ARE GARBAGE NOW *

I have never had an anaphylactic reaction before and did not know what was happening. Fortunately, my husband was well aware of what was taking place. By the time I got to urgent care I was in full anaphylaxis. MY eyes were almost swollen shut; my face, neck, and chest was one big hive, my throat was closing rapidly. The reaction was slow at first. The first 30 min I thought I was having some environmental allergy but the last 20 min I went downhill fast. Soon as we got in a nurse came running. The nurse practitioner and nurses took immediate action and saved my life. They were so swift, competent, confident, knowledgeable, compassionate, and communicated constantly. I am forever grateful to these women. Thank you for giving me today!

Thank You Leigh, Randall, Reid (cool shoes), sweet Bryce, Parker, Jayna and Keagan). I'm always pushed and encouraged to go beyond my limits while they guide my therapy, allow questions re: my therapy and they offer alternatives and suggestions if I'm unsure or if something doesn't feel right. Before I found Vertex, I was cynical about how well physical therapy worked. I had only been to one…read morePT practice where I was scheduled for an hour with a PT doctor along with 2 or 3 other patients. He would give me an ice bag for 20 minutes to put on my injury, then work with the other patients who had the same appointment time. When he returned to me, he needed a debriefing about why I was there again, because he couldn't keep his patients straight. I felt like I could have done the same things at home and saved myself a lot of time and money. I think I went twice, total, before I gave up. Vertex operates within a whole different model -- one that enlightened me and has influenced the entire PT industry in Columbia, as other practices are now trying to mirror Vertex's approach. Each PT doctor meets with just one patient the entire hour, and a lot of progress is made in that hour. I have been patients of Vertex's founders, Dr. Jim Floyd and Dr. Brandon Vaughn, and both are exceptional -- very bright, innovative, and caring, and their integrity and patient-centered approach is apparent in all they do and in the kind of people they hire. I have seen multiple PTs at their clinics, with Dr. Aimee Depelteau being the one I've seen the most, and all have been exceptional. As a patient in my early 50s who is trying to stay active and strong for a lifetime, I have had a range of injuries that Vertex has helped me get through. If I'm injured (again), I go to Vertex for a consult for a faster diagnosis and treatment plan than I would get via an MD (as SC does not require an MD referral for the first several PT visits), and I get the bonus of not having to pay for things like X-rays, MRIs, etc. unless I truly need them. I'll always be grateful to Dr. Floyd for saving me from having surgery for a herniated disc in my neck, thanks to his wisdom and treatment. This is a smart, well-trained team who is passionate about their work and good health. Dr. Josh Jeffery and Dr. Vaughn have a great podcast, Better Faster, and many of the PT team engage in fitness coaching on the side and train hard themselves. Highly recommend.

Right Elbow Tendentious: I had a horrible experience with…read morethis Dr. McFadden. The nursing staff at the facility is fantastic!! It was just this doctor. I was scheduled for surgery and was uncomfortable with some of the practices of the PA due to my lack of knowledge on the situation. All I know is that after the cortisone shots were administered my situation became worse. I did not want to be cut open until I found out why my situation had become worse after the shots. I was also concerned that when I spoke with Dr. McFadden for the first time about my elbow, he was unaware that I had an MRI done and was already discussing surgery. When he opened my MRI, at my request, he told me that he could see the problem, but it wasn't the worst he'd seen. Still surgery was the next step. The surgery was schedule for 2 days later. I had to cancel my first surgery appointment because I had to pay 20% upfront (that was told to me by the nursing staff) and it being the end of the month, I didn't have the money until the 1st of the following month. Also, 2 days was too quick of a turn around to have my wife take off of work to drive me to the facilities and home. On the day of the rescheduled surgery I fasted the night before, had the requested clothing on, and had my wife take vacation from work to drive me to surgery and remain with me for 2 days afterward as requested. I was fully ready to have the procedure done. Since I was the first surgery of the day, Dr. McFadden was not in yet and I had to wait for him to come in to speak with him. He came into the facility and was irate that I was not already prepped for surgery. The conversation did not go well and when I expressed my concerns of my diagnose and the medical practices of his team, I was meet with hostility and anger. I am the patient and have every right to feel comfortable before someone cuts my body open. However, when I told Dr. McFadden that I was feeling uncomfortable with the procedure until I have better answers on why my situation became worse after the shots, he told me I put him behind schedule and that I am wasting his time. He expressed his frustration that I didn't want to proceed that day with the surgery by stating "You've cancelled on me twice now" again the first cancellation was because I didn't have the money to pay upfront or enough time for my wife to take off of work. He then told me my elbow got worse because it just got worse and then said, "just don't do anything then". I asked why he didn't know I had an MRI done and he said, "I don't need and MRI to know you need this surgery" So why take the MRI??? I asked myself afterward.... He told me to reschedule for another day. When I was walking up to the desk to reschedule, he stopped me and said "you know what? Don't reschedule! Just find yourself another Doctor! To which I replied "OK" and peacefully walked out. I don't know this to be a fact, but this entire event made me feel as if Dr. McFadden and the entire USC-Ortho Center didn't care one bit about my health, but simply wanted to cash in on a seemingly unnecessary MRI and surgery. Also, they had no empathy for patients that may be feeling uncomfortable with surgery. I had legitimate questions but what if I were a someone who had never had surgery before and was terrified about being cut open?!?!? Would they be treated the same way?!?!? Every patient has the right to ask question and be comfortable with surgery. They don't have to blindly take the word of a doctor because they went to medical school. I have too many people that I know tell me that after surgery they were worse off because they just went with what the doctor said. I was in the Army for 6 years and know a thing or two about botched surgeries. This is completely unacceptable, and I will not rest until this man is properly reprimanded for these actions. No one should ever feel bullied into having surgery or chastised for questioning a doctor's diagnosis. EVER!!!!

The only negative I have may be a positive attribute for you, it is a family gym. There are plenty of activities and child care options to allow parents to fill the gym with kids, young and old. Also- cleaning wipes were not readily available. I had to search and eventually ask where cleaning wipes are to wipe down machines! Daily rate: $10 The weight room is large and well stocked. (Plenty of squat racks to go around!) I was there midday on a weekday and the crowd was so nice! However around 3 PM a group of teenage boys did make their way in and begin to easily overwhelm certain pieces of equipment, which is not ideal. The cross training area is incredible, full turf to allow sled pushing/tire flipping. There is a large jungle gym to allow for diverse and versatile workouts. The gym has two types of locker rooms, a quick change which has about 30 lockers (bring your own lock) and two full bathrooms. Also executive style locker rooms which are plush and include saunas. Their gym cinema option is awesome. It has treadmills and ellipticals, in front of a huge movie theater screen in a darkened room. There is as pool! The manager and his son are pleasures to work with! When I'm in Orangeburg I'll be sure to stop by again.
