My husband and I came from Pennsylvania, looking forward to riding our e bikes on the sandy back roads of the panhandle. Went out for a ride on my Powerfly 5 mountain bike, and the computer handlebar display was dead., even though the battery showed fully charged. Changed the batteries on the computer, still dead. Loaded it up and drove it to David's World. The capable and sympathetic staff quickly determined the bike battery was bad, it might be covered by warranty, but they made no promises as to how long it would take. 9 days later they called to say the part was warrantied, and the bike was ready! We own a bike shop in Pa and are familiar with bike supply chain issues. We were very impressed with how the shop got my bike rolling again. read more

If you listen to one review here it is. I was up sold a $260 package to service my bike. It took them TWO WEEKS to return my bike. I rode my bike maybe 8 times and the front Derailer is shifting incorrectly, downshifting from big to little and forcing me to get off my bike. When I took the bike back they said they would fix it, would put it on the schedule for a week and was going to charge me, I said no thanks and took my bike some where else, it never had any issues shifting until they messed with my bike. Word of mouth goes a long way in the biking community. The other bad reviews include up sailing packages and telling people they need stuff. None of the staff is friendly or gives you the friendly hey what's up chill vibe you get at most shops. Every mechanic head down. When I asked the mechanic what was wrong and could she show me, she was unable to give me any explanation. Definitely no confidence in this shop. EDIT: After replacing this review the owner gave me a call after talking to the shop. Although he listen and apologized which I appreciated, he tried to tell me the reason I need to check my bike in was because the mechanic checked my chain and it needed to be replaced. This was never explained to me! ALSO I told him if they would have told me that in person I would have accused them of being crooks or their tool was broke , since THIS shop replaced my chain IN ADDITION to their "$260 tune up" and I have rode less than 300 miles due to a back injury, only way the chain needs replacing was if it never was installed in the first place. He asked if he could do anything and I told him I feel better with taking my bike to be serviced else where. read more

My husband went to get a new bike. I stood back and looked around the shop. I couldn't help but listen to the conversation the person helping him and he were having. Basically, he told the person exactly what he wanted and they did not stop until they found the perfect bike for him. Needless to say, he was very happy with the knowledge the person had of bikes and the ability to listen to his needs and consider them to find what he had come in for. read more

I walked into Trek with several problems with my bike. I needed a new derailleur, a new spoke, a new cassette, and a new chain. Brian quickly diagnosed my bike and knew everything that was wrong with it in under a minute. He talked me through the process of what would happen next with my bike without missing a beat. Very clever! This shop's previously name was "David's World Cycle." I noticed some of their bad reviews on Yelp are gone. Fortunately, I managed to save one from the past which I will add to the end of my post. I have a seven-year-old bicycle and the derailleur went out of adjustment. I paid $45 to have it adjusted at this shop on 12/31/21. Soon after it went out of adjustment again. First gear was unusable, but the bike was rideable. I couldn't bring it back to the shop right away because I live in a rural area about an hour away. I took it back to the shop on 4/5/22 (the shop was still known as David's at the time) and I was again charged $45 for readjustment since their warranty is good for only 30 days (although this was never explained to me), plus an additional $25 upsell to true the rear wheel. I expressed my dissatisfaction but reluctantly agreed to pay these charges just so I could get my bike fixed while I was in town. I was told the shop was under capacity that day. Interestingly, during my 12/31/21 visit the original technician who worked on my bike attempted to sell me a maintenance package (?) but this wasn't mentioned on 4/5/22. Why would the derailleur's original factory adjustment hold for seven years, and theirs only held for a little over a month? One day I was riding normally and couldn't downshift into first gear. I got home after the second visit, rode the bike around the block, and it started to make a grinding noise. They left one of the screws on the chain guard loose and it fell off. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to buy a screw, a nut and a couple of washers. One would expect better customer support when paying higher prices for goods and services. 6/1/2022: Derailleur went out of adjustment again. This time it was the third gear. A neighbor looked at it, and after a quick turn of the adjuster (which took less than a minute) it now works better than ever. Even better than when it was new. Here's the review I saved from a customer who had a very similar experience on 6/7/21. I wish I read it beforehand. I'm done with this shop. Fast & efficient! They didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Very laid back and welcoming environment. The staff was incredibly warm and helpful. If you need your bike shipped take it to The Great Bicycle Shop. They are much more accommodating, professional and a better price. We had to get back to California because of a knee injury. Stressed out to get a flight home and ship our bikes. Called and talk to the manager. Got a big story about their work load and they might have boxes. OMG. I have had VERY positive experiences at Bird Legs Bicycles. I have not purchased a bike there, but they have assembled bikes for me, special ordered parts, and made repairs. They do quality work, they complete the work as promised, and they are VERY friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. I am happy to recommend them. read more

We bought two Townie bikes 1 women's, and 1 mans, initially we were told by an employee that if we bought any two bikes we would receive a 5% discount..(UNTRUE), secondly, I wanted different fenders on the mans bike and the mechanic looked at it and said no problem they could swap them easily, I paid for them up front as I did for the entire order. When the the bikes arrived the mechanic stated that the fenders could not be installed on the bike. I have a call into corporate to see if those fenders are interchangeable. We also bought a Thule bike rack and the manager advised us we needed an additional crossbar for the women's bike to put on the rack, (UNTRUE) the bike worked fine on the bike rack, I also paid for the rack and bar upfront. When my wife attempted to take the crossbar back they said there would be a restocking fee, now the bar cost 31.00 dollars, after I just spent almost 2,000 bucks, I would call ,that real customer service....really!!! When I called the Manager to question about the restocking fee for the 31.00 bar she would not waive that and she was flat out rude about the whole transaction. I will never recommend nor buy anything from them ever. I am not sure how they stay in business when they treat customers they way they do. I would say that the owner who I did not speak to has no clue that the manager treats customers the way she does. She is very brash and unprofessional to say the least. I would sum it up as an all around bad experience, and that the people that work there to include the manager are misinformed and not at all well prepared on what they sell.
