The dentist was polite, friendly, conservative and confident in his diagnosis. We were disappointed in his periodontist referrals. An employee came up to me in the waiting room to do x rays before I had seen the dentist for him to make a recommendation for x rays and when I had already sent them x rays. The office is large and impersonal. You have to go through the office manager to ask questions to the dentist and don't know if emails go directly to him. When I first called to make an appointment, I was told a dental assistant would do the exam not the dentist. I found that troubling. There is free outdoor parking

Everyone is friendly and personable and talks to you like a friend they just saw last month, not just a couple times a year. It doens't (and never has) felt like a money grab where they tell you to do things that you don't need to get done. Unless you want to, I mean they won't talk you out of a teeth whitening if that's what you want. LOL The parking lot is a bit of the pain since it's one lane so you have to be careful to follow the rules and let the traffic coming in have the right of way, but you get used to it! At least there's parking, for free. You're not paying in a garage so there's that, and that means something in downtown WeHa. Highly recommend if you're looking for a dental practice!

Goldstein and Waterman who are no longer affiliated with the practice. But, at my last visit, I was disappointed by the lack of standard of dental care I received. First, the hygienist, Laurie, who wasn't the one I had made an appointment with, kept me waiting 15 minutes. After she cleaned my teeth, she didn't polish or floss them; nor did she ask me if I wanted a fluoride treatment, which I usually get. Then, a dentist, Dr. Zhang, unfamiliar to me, briefly looked at my teeth and told me I needed "overlays" on a few of my bottom teeth which have been slightly chipped for years. Dr. Zhang did not visually and physically check my face, neck, lips, tongue and throat for any abnormal lumps, red or white patches, or sores. She did not ask me to bite down to evaluate tooth alignment and check for temporomandibular joint disorder or teeth grinding or check the depth of spaces between my teeth and gums to screen for gingivitis or periodontitis. When I asked about my regular dentist, Dr. Wateman, Dr. Zhang told me he no longer worked there. Due to the lack of standard of dental care provided by Newington Family Dental Practice and recent turnover rate of personnel, I would not recommend this practice.

What rate is he discounting? medicaid? Every insurance plan is different so this sounded very sketchy. It's shocking that the dentist would rather not clean my teeth according to the treatment plan they made for me 'to protect their practice license' when all they had to do was clean my teeth and document the reason for the delay in exam and xray for 1 month. Surely we can find more compassionate responsible dentists than this practice. Stay away.
