Treetops kitty Cafe gave us a good experience. I especially enjoyed meeting all the cats.

Outstanding. For a small donation, you can pet and cuddle kitties. There is a back room where kitties can escape if they are not in the mood for pets. Have a seat or grab a cat toy and see who comes to visit you. Victor smelled my hair but did not want to cuddle so I had to settle for head pats. Roxy invited herself in my lap and let me cuddle her. Pepper allowed petting. Chloe let me stroke her thick black fur. Ethan crawled to my bosom, curled up, and was my little snuggle buddy. He was making biscuits against my shirt. I had a great time and will be sure to stop every time I am in Kennett Square. Many of the cats are available for adoption bit a few are resident cats. The adoption fees are around a hundred dollars. read more

This is a very special rescue for local kitties and their potential adopters. Wonderful environment for the animals and people. There is a beverage bar for the patrons to sip and relax while watching the feline action. Also, a wonderful little gift shop in the front of the establishment. The owners are super nice folks who are serving the community. read more

Was passing through this area and I love cat cafes so I took my mom in there today. It was great!! You can tell they care for their cats. I wish they had a bit more space, but they have done the best with what they have. They have some fun wall shelves for the cats to climb. I also love that they have lots of cat things for sale in a retail area at the front of the store. I wish them the best of luck with future adoptions! read more

I was so looking forward to visiting another cat cafe in the greater Philly area. I left here really upset and disturbed by what I saw as did my friend who I attended with. I visited on November 10, around 4pm. It was staffed by two teenagers (apparently you only have to be 14 to volunteer there I overheard). Once we made our donation at the door, no rules on interacting with cats were mentioned at all (which at EVERY other cat cafe I have been to has been TOP priority and policed with great care) and you were free to enter the cat area. While there were signs posted with rules, there was no mention of not being allowed to pick up cats, disturb sleeping cats or how to handle cats. It was completely overrun with children, at least 8 of them, between the ages of 6-9 approximately who clearly come here regularly. The three adult women there who were mothers or guardians of the children were all talking on their phones and not policing the children or their interactions with animals AT ALL. They weren't even looking up. Children were running and forcefully grabbing at cats, carrying them around, being rough, chasing them. Every time I approached a cat, a child dove in front of me to grab at the cat and prevent me from getting near. And the kittens. They had at least six kittens there and several were so young that they had blue eyes still - just barely weaned. They were being chased, grabbed in their sleep, squeezed, handled roughly. It was horrifying. I watched a tiny kitten climb up a chair and onto a table where someone left a half eaten chocolate chip cookie on a plate. The kitten was heading right for the cookie before I stepped in to move the cookie away. CHOCOLATE IS TOXIC TO ANIMALS. I mentioned this to one of the volunteers and she was more concerned with finding whose cookie it was. I moved it to the other side of the wall out of the cat area and SHE MOVED THE COOKIE BACK TO THE TABLE. Kittens this young should NOT be in mixed with other adult cats they do not know. They should be in foster, privately and not handled by the public. Kittens this young especially should not be handled by children that young especially rough, loud, unsupervised children. There are all assortment of high climbing perches which while great for adult cats, could produce a deadly fall for a tiny kitten. Some these kittens probably weren't even two pounds yet. Many cat cafes have strict policies about age limits and supervision of children. I witnessed one cat peeking its head out of the hole in the back wall to consider venturing out into the main room. When the children saw this they all rushed towards the hole and scared the poor cat back in. Then a volunteer went into the back room to BRING THE CAT OUT to give to the children. Unbelievable. The room is there for cats to escape to if they aren't comfortable with the chaos of the other room. The volunteer was just stressing out that poor baby! And the piece d'resistance: I stepped away from the mayhem to observe from a little distance as being around these poorly behaved children was exhausting for me (and I'm sure the cats as well) and I overheard one of the volunteers talking to one other woman while holding a kitten and I heard "Could he have worms?" "I don't know?" If there was EVER a grosser seven words uttered in a room open to the public, filled with cats and kids I couldn't think of them in that moment and we decided to leave immediately. Going home to wash ourselves and our clothing and bags thoroughly, so that we didn't bring home some awful sickness to my own cats! The volunteers here watched cats being handled roughly and never said a word to any of the children about it nor said anything to the adults. If you aren't willing to put a qualified and responsible person to work to protect the animals there, this business should not be open to the public. I have been to about 7 cat cafes in the US and Canada. I have never been so disturbed for the lack of care and responsibility for the well being of cats and kittens as I was here! I have never heard of this Treetops Rescue, nor has anyone in my network of Philly area rescues. I am suspicious of the good being done here and I am very worried for the safety of these animals. Get your act together Treetops. read more

I've visited Treetops Kitty Cafe several times now (every time I'm in town) and each visit has been wonderful. The cats are happy and well taken care of. The staff is hardworking and very loving with the cats. It's a new business and they are always looking for good volunteers but it's run by a devoted, caring group of people taking care of these adorable kitties until they find their forever homes. It's a great community of people working together to get cats placed in good homes and the loving environment of the kitty cafe is a marvelous place for these cats while they wait for their new homes. read more
