Clean pool! Large warm hot tub! Pleasant music throughout entire property. Very nice/clean gas grill that we used to cook pork chops and baked potatoes on! We love this place and can not wait to go back next year when we are booking an extra night this time just so we have more time to enjoy all this place has to offer!! BTW: this is a great motorcycle destination as the roads surrounding have lots of curves with awesome views. Just head south out of western Missouri on Rt23 and ride the "Pig Trail" down ... set google maps destination for : Mena Mountain Resort ... and then just sit back and enjoy the ride!! They have done a great job of increasing that value. Last time we were in town we let the others pick the place to stay. It was about $60 higher but not nicer. It was more than one level ( a hotel) , but that was it. This stay was Nov.7th, 2024. Andy at the desk , was very friendly. No negatives to report. Being a retired truck driver , I've stayed at hotels quite a bit. This Motel is one of my favorites. I hate to pay a sizable amount and it's nothing special. This place suits me perfectly! We will be back, soon.

We snagged a room here to get us the majority of the way from Dallas to Eagle Rock Loop (Arkansas) so we could knock it out without a 4.5h drive leading up to it. I am so glad we did! Upon arrival at around 8PM, we had to call so the inn keeper could let us in, then we got a tour, and were shown upstairs to our room: #4. The floors are creaky with charm, but there's a private bathroom in the room, window-unit AC, and a large and powerful space heater (we were toasty on a freezing night). So much personality and personal touches here. A modest, but complimentary, selection of snacks and drinks are available in various places, too! All in all, I'd definitely come back and stay a little longer!

Upon arrival we received a warm greeting from the gentleman at the front desk and he showed us to our ground floor room. The decor in the hallway set the tone (rather rundown but featuring displays about the area and history of the hotel), one of the rooms we passed was missing a door and had a bed sheet covering the door way, perhaps it was being rehabbed? Our room was clean, sheets were nice and the beds were comfy but the room didn't feel finished (bare concrete floor, exposed pipes and electric lines from the room above running along the ceiling). The bathroom was clean but tiny and a bit rundown. After seeing the room for the first time, I'm certain that had I been with my wife, she would have insisted we get back in the car and keep driving. The hotel restaurant is closed for business (not sure if that is temporary or permanent) but that was definitely the only attractive room in the building. The whole marketing emphasis of this place is that it's "historic" but it's only from the 1940's, my home is much older and I've never thought of it as historic. Frankly, it felt like the whole "historic" thing was just an excuse for being so shabby. All in all I'd say that whoever is in charge of cleaning is doing a wonderful job but the whole place is rundown and desperately in need of restoration. You will be hard pressed to find somewhere decent to eat in town. We received a couple of recommendations for "El Rancho Mexican Grill" and it was pretty awful.

There is a steep grade climb up to the cabins, no issues for a car or truck. All of the cabins have a view. We stayed at the honeymooners cabin number three in the view from the screened in porch was amazing. The porch is where we spent most of our time. We used the Jacuzzi tub in the living room for a good hour of soak time before bed. The queen bed was comfortable for two people. Cabin was clean and spacious enough for us, And had everything we needed including a small refrigerator microwave toaster oven sink. Good size shower in the bathroom. We stayed in cabin 3, Honeymooners. The interior of the cabin is all wood but in really good condition and there was no smell of smoke. Good communications by text we never have to actually see anyone. Looking forward to the next visit!

If you want to spend most of your time in Beavers Bend State Park, it is not too convenient for that. And, don't expect to get a cell phone signal. Wifi is not dependable. So, GREAT place if you want to be "removed," and very pretty. Since there isn't much information, I'll say: there are 8 cabins and they are down an 8-mile long road (Game Preserve Road/Sherman Road) from a point that is about 12 miles north of the state parks. There is a swimming pool, and there is a boat ramp very close by. The "lakefront" is a stretch. You can walk down a trail (gets very steep at the end) to the cove of the lake.

Bring dish detergent and bowls :) They don't call it the Palace for nothin. Newly opened for 7 months, superior alternative in value to all Mena, AK accomodations.

We arrived after midnight and promptly got a room. It was clean, and well made up. A mini-refrigerator and the microwave both worked, plus we had cable and HBO. The AC worked like a charm, it got us down to 65 degrees! The shower was hot and very nice after a long hike. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice, could be improved, but not scratchy. The rooms were pretty large too, lots of room for luggage and space for what ever. There was also a table to eat at or play a game, and a well lit bathroom/vanity. The grounds were well maintained and well lit. I forgot my pillow and they notified me that I left it. I'm very grateful I chose to stay here instead of anywhere else we passed on my way to, and from the national park from Texas. Great customer service, and overall experience. Thank you, guys!

The drive around the town is pretty cool with all the nature and lake views. Restaurants serve good seafood , fresh and yummy. I really recommend this place to everyone. Best experience so far! The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Window shades broken, smoke alarm missing, light covers missing, non functional ice machine and the pool wasn't usable due to debris and algae. The lady who checked us in was friendly and helpful but she left the property around 5pm and left other guests keys taped to the office window and a sign saying to call a phone number in case of an emergency. We left at 8:45 am and no one was in the office.
