Don't send your kid here. Im sure they mean well and love kids...but when so many teachers leave a school at once, you start to wonder why.

Little People's Landing - Louisville

Little People's Landing - Louisville

Little People's Landing in Louisville has been great. Our daughter has been going there for almost…read morea year now. We did a LOT of shopping around (including looking at the Little People's in Westminster) and chose LPL Louisville because they seemed to have the right balance of play and structure, guidance and hands-off, cleanliness, and letting kids be kids. They really focus on the kids and it's obvious that she is loved and really enjoys being there. Lately when we've pulled up I hear an excited "SCHOOL!" from the backseat. One of the biggest draws for us was the director Christine Hawkins. I can't say enough good things about her. She really helped our daughter adjust to daycare (most mornings going from my arms to her arms). When I switched jobs Christine worked with me to make sure the billing was done appropriately. Even recently when my husband had surgery, Chris worked it out so that our daughter could come extra days. Our daughter just moved up to the preschool classroom and is thrilled to be with "the big kids". While at LPL Louisville her vocabulary and language skills have gone off the chart! At her 2 year checkup her pediatrician told us that developmentally she was on par with a 3-4 year old. Clearly Little People's Landing in Louisville is a place where children flourish!

I have had the worst experience as a parent/ teacher with Little People's Landing Louisville! They…read morehave been extremely disrespectful and have went through every hoop they could to try and say we didn't hold up our end of the contract. They quoted me $200 every 2 weeks for our daughters tuition and after a week of me being employed and seeing the invoice it was $199 for just 1 WEEK!!! I told the office about the price difference and all they could do was say sorry. Fast forward 2 weeks later my employment ends and I have already been invoiced for the full week of childcare, they tell me to gather all my daughters things and leave; meaning she isn't allowed to continue her school week. I asked for an adjustment to the invoice to reflect that she didn't attend the rests of the week because the office unenrolled her and it was not our doing to leave. They said no. When I asked for the entire amount to just be removed because they didn't hold up their end of the contract, they finally adjusted the amount but said I'd accrue a late fee daily if I don't pay it. However I had asked for the entire amount to be removed at this point now because they didn't give the 2 week notice that was required in their end of the contract. They tried to email me the contract saying I had to hold up my end of it all while violating it themselves. My daughter had ZERO behavior issues and the director said to me "she's definitely getting used to us and the center." So they can't try to pull the behavior card. They withdrew her upon my job termination. They then tried to tell me I unenrolled her and that it was my doing. I didn't not withdraw her and had I did I would have done it to end the last date of the invoiced week as I would have had to pay anyways. They are being extremely confrontational and don't want to resolve anything. I do not play about my families hard earned money and will not accept an oh well as an answer. I will do everything I can to get this matter resolved and if I have to leave a review on every platform then so be it. Some of y'all may say I'm doing too much and should just drop it but I'm not and it will be escalated however far it needs to because people can't keep getting away with treating others unfairly. (If anyone has some advice on how else we can deal with this, that would be great.)

My son started attending when he was 4 years old, and now at 11, he still returns whenever he is on school break or his school is closed and La Petite is open. My daughter also attended from about 1 to 3 years old. My children are children of color, and throughout all of these years, not once have my children complained to me about being treated differently because of their race. I have always felt comfortable leaving my children in the care of the teachers and staff, and I trust La Petite Academy with my children. Ms. Jodie has been a wonderful director to our family. She has been caring, professional, and dedicated to the children and families for many years. I know that no school or childcare experience is going to be exactly the same for every family, but I can only speak from my own experience--and ours has been a positive one. After nearly 10 years of being connected to this school, I continue to feel comfortable bringing my children there. That level of trust as a parent means a lot to me. I appreciate Ms. Jodie and the entire La Petite team for the care they have provided to my children over the years. Esther Peter

A Warning for Parents of Neurodivergent or ESL Children…read more My experience here was traumatic. If I could give zero stars, I would. We attended before my son's autism diagnosis, and he was treated with a shocking lack of empathy. The owner actually called me to claim my son had a 'medical tic'--which was actually just a self-soothing raspberry-blowing behavior he only did when he was extremely stressed by their environment. I witnessed systemic neglect: children who spoke English as a second language were left to sit alone without interaction, and toddlers were left to sob inconsolably after drop-off with no comfort from staff. I actually had to step in and hug a crying child myself because the teachers wouldn't. Most concerning was the lack of respect for parental boundaries and age-appropriate care. When my 3-year-old was nervous about potty training, I requested he wear a pull-up for one day to build his confidence. Instead, the staff spent 30 minutes of his school day forcing him back into underwear against my explicit instructions. Unless your child is neurotypical and requires no emotional support, stay away. This is not a safe or inclusive environment.

I love the balance of outdoor time, art, music, social emotional learning, and gentle exploration of academic learning. To top it off, there is a great community of kind families each year!
