We had a 10:30 appointment and walked in a little early. The location was easy to find and it was very clean. They had a room set up for us with both beds ready to go. And wow. I've had a lot of massages, all over the world....most masseuses know my traps are the problem but idk what the masseuse here felt that others didn't, but she really got in there without it being super painful and focused on the whole area. I was the most relaxed I think I've ever felt in my shoulders. I just wish I was local so I could go back again and again because for $100? It was more than worth it. The rest of the massage was great too, full body and didn't miss a detail. I really loved the scalp and facial massage. My husband recently tore his AC joint and his masseuse did an awesome job still getting in there without touching his injury. Overall, an amazing stat to our Christmas Eve and a top notch massage. Highly, highly recommend. It's no surprise they have so many 5 stars. OH and we ended the session with hot tea and chocolate!

Come to find out, our masseurs were legally blind and we didn't know until after our massages. However, I could tell that they were more guided in using their hands, by the way they felt for the tension/knots in my shoulders and back, and I was throughly impressed. This place is clean and well kept. And Heads up, no individual rooms, just an open space divided by curtains. A great no thrills massage, for reasonable price. He is very in tune and skilled and as someone who is sensitive to people's energy, I appreciated that. I also appreciated that he wore a mask during the entire massage. The massages are well priced for the level of skill and professionalism, $800 pesos, roughly $40/hr. I highly recommend Alma Thai!

The moment I got on the table I got bid by mosquitoes. The towels lint and sands got all over on my body made it a not so soft and smooth experience. I got charged way more than I should have. The resort doesn't let outside massage people come to you, so the spa just handled it: Maria, a driver they trust, picked us up and dropped us off, about 30-60 min each way. Super easy to deal with, too - they mostly do everything over WhatsApp, and Gina (the owner) had it all sorted out for us. Before we started they had us fill out a quick little survey on what we wanted worked on, and they actually stuck to it during the massage. The place itself has this industrial-but-cozy, zen vibe going on - very chill. They've got a shower to rinse off before you start, and they even give you your own little scrub for it, which was a nice surprise. The therapists were seriously amazing, some of the best massages we've ever had, and they use a little sound bowl to signal when it's starting and ending, which felt like such a nice touch. We got the 2-hour couples massage, and after they brought out tea and a fruit tart - felt way more like a retreat day than a spa appointment. Can't recommend it enough, especially if you're staying nearby and want a good excuse to escape the resort for a few hours. Thanks Gina and Maria for a great experience!

When we arrived we were seated at the front and invited to discuss what we want out of our massage today and if there is anything they should know- like a mini consultation. And shortly after we were guided to a cute bathroom with our personalized scrubbing salt to exfoliate from the neck down- and this was an amazing experience to cleanse our bodies and our mind. When we hopped onto the massage table all fresh and clean we were ready to receive the experience fully. We got the botica massage which includes scalp massage, firm pressure for shoulder neck area, hot stone, relaxing leg massage and reflexology. And what an incredible treat; every aspect of the client experience shows deep intention for healing and care in this space. We were awaken from the massage from the beautiful sounds of a sound bowl. Just wow! I will be returning as often as possible for the rest of my trip and would highly recommend this gem! By the way, location wise, when you see casa sofia you are at the right plaza - botica is on first level, top right corner (second door from the last on the right hand side) curtains are drawn when they are in session with clients.
