I once had the luck to be invited to a bit of a 'do' in one of the rooms at the Treasury Hotel. It was one of those nights: an intimate dinner at Tank, followed by a trip to the casino. For those of us who didn't gamble, we went back to the hotel room. I couldn't help but assume that the Treasury Hotel was going to be tacky, despite it's beautiful and regal exterior. I blame the casino for my preconceived judgement. The hotel and casino do look quite similar from the outside, but when you get into their guts, they couldn't be more different. Where the casino is gaudy, the Treasury Hotel is regal and opulent. The long white columns, combined with high ceilings, ornamental plaster features on the ceilings, large windows, and romantic balconies really just sweep you off your feet into another time. The Treasury Hotel combines elements of classicism into Queensland architecture quite elegantly. Considering how incredibly beautiful this hotel is, I don't think paying $200+ per night is unreasonable. You're always going to pay more to stay in a hotel, and this one really is a worthwhile treat. The staff are professional. I will say there is a certain expected decorum if you choose to stay here. No stealing luggage trolleys and throwing yourself down aisles. No Roger Explosion forward rolls out of doors. Be classy. It is the most convenient place to stay if you do gamble. It's just a walk across the park to go meet your 2.30am session at the blackjack table. Also, I should note, there are certain benefits available to you while staying at the hotel if you are a regular customer at the casino.

We in need of some late night/early morning drunken nourishment, the cafe in the Casino hit the spot. A chunky meat pie and some thick cut chips with gallons of self serve sauces helped mop up the litres of beer we had already consumed. The pie had really tasty gravy and big chunks of meat.

I find it alright not as glamorous as the Sydney Casino but I still like coming here I love the bright lights

This place has really lost of a lot of it's class... it's run down and depressing place to spend sometime and throw away some money. Compared to the building its a shadow of its former self.... So do yourself a favour a skip this place and save your money for a nice meal or siteseeing around Brisbane. You won't win here you will just lose your money.

Beautiful place, great service, but why does the food have to be so terrible!? Tried 2 dishes and both well below restaurant quality.

What a debacle of security and cucked customer service. The following is a copy of the complaint I…read moresent via the website feedback form, with which i checked the box for a response. Approximately 3 weeks later I have had no response so a phone call 3 days ago got the ball rolling with which I have procured your email address from Matt in Security Services who kindly called me back. A following call from security (after them sneakily checking my profile out on LinkedIn to ascertain if I had enough clout for them to be bothered at all). They refuse to talk about this by email or put the incident in writing. So I will. And more. I had arrived back on the gold coast as I live primarily in Sydney/ NYC and had decided to show my new English girlfriend the casino and to have drinks at Nineteen as a way of extolling the virtues of us eventually living back in Mermaid Beach. Having posed for photos and picking her up in a hug we walked to the gaming area where naturally we were stopped by Giuseppe, as she is a very young looking 21 year old (I am in my 30's.) While asking for her passport I - in good mood and curiosity with no sarcasm or malevolent itonation - asked why the casino was so quiet on a friday night. With this, Giuseppe's demeanor changed and asked me how much I had to drink that night. Blinking, I honestly answered I had a rum and coke at the family dinner table with the GF and my elderly mother. Approximately 2 hours ago. He then said he asked that because I was "walking funny" on my way to the casino entrance. I said, bemusedly, it was because I was in love, and had picked the gf up for a photo pose and that I was happy to take a breathalyzer to prove i was sober. His eyes squinted and gave imitations to admonishing me in a virtual finger wagging. He said no, and made notions that he, on his discretion, might let me in but then said words to effect "If I catch you drinking inside" that I would be caught, and thrown out. I was completely flabbergasted at this, stunned, and to say caught out of left field would be an understatement. I said I would like to complain and speak to the manager on this. It just so happened that someone called Ken, an appropriately imposing fellow to my own height was walking past, and Giuseppe huddled off with him away from me to give him his side of the story. Eventually Ken walks back to me and explained again what Giuseppe had said, and I repeated my story again, saying I would be more than happy to take a breathalyzer, that I had just consumed one alcoholic beverage 2 hours ago, and had driven from our house in mermaid beach to the casino to show her the casino. Ken THEN alluded to me being - i'm facepalming while I write this - aggressive (!) with him in the conversation, making me think i was on the set of a candid camera episode, or movie like "Anger Management" where Adam Sandler is talking normally while the flight steward says "Sir, please stop yelling". Ken then said he could, again forgive my needing to express exasperation and incredulity - he said he could smell alcohol on my breath! While I said I could breathe out more to give him a better test, or use a breathalyzer, which he declined, I then gave big exhalation to my girlfriend who confirmed she couldn't smell any alcohol. He then mentioned "Your eyes are very red". Yeah buddy. I know. I wear contact lenses full time for a whole month. It cuts off air supply to the occular area. I've been maliciously and libellously defamed by this to a whole Strata Roll on an investment property on this by another ignoramus and I should have sued but, well, I can only sue someone every 18 months as these things take up too much of my time. Perhaps I can give my shares a bump if you circulate this informational website with your staff so they can discern "is it inebriation or irritated eyes" : https://www.verywellhealth.com/red-eyes-and-contacts-3421657 nB! They HAVE A BREATHALYSER in the garage the liars! I could have gone and blown into it to prove my sobriety! Spend your hard earned coin elsewhere; like any casino, the house always wins. You are chattel cattle for them and their security team's ego. Don't forget the experiments where the prison guards end up tyrants. Review continues in pictures:

WOW to the WOW WOW!!…read more No words.. No words.... NO WORDS! Just beyond amazing is what I experienced at this hotel. From the moment that you arrive and walk in, you are instantly greeted with inviting smiles and the most relaxing, fruity, pleasant signature Capri by Fraser scent. No, I am not kidding. Each of the Capri by Fraser properties have their own crafted scents that are filtering through the vents and into the hotel lobby air. At this property the scent is a blend of apple blossom, cider wood, ginger flower, lemon and orange... HEAVENLY! I DID NOT want to check in to my room :) The theme of this Capri by Fraser property is feeling like you are in the rainforest. The designer was spot on because that is exactly how my friend and I felt staying here. Being the interior designer that I am, I have an immense appreciation for places with eye catching design and flow. The designers of this hotel (award winning designers ) Ministry Of Design really did an exceptional job on this entire property. The attention to detail they put into this place is off the charts. This place is the definition of trendy and urban chic. MY type of style ;-) So let's continue... The moment you walk into the lobby and to your right is a living vertical garden that is so beautiful and refreshing. To the left of that is the hotel restaurant, Asana by Chef Pete Evans which has a delicious seasonal menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was sooo good. On the second floor is the hotel gym, rec area, sauna and pool. All very well maintained with amazing amenities. The pool is a showstopper. My friend and I stayed there and relaxed all day going from pool to sauna and back to pool again. Loved the pool being indoors. It was insanely hot and humid outside! To top it off we had the pool all to ourselves!! :) With this hotel being under a year old, the staff do a great job keeping it extremely clean 24/7. Last but most definitely NOT least.... OUR ROOM! We were up on the 10th floor and had an amazing view of the buildings surrounding us. The room was very spacious with apartment style amenities. Anytime we requested anything, hotel staff would show up within 5 minutes, we didn't have to wait very long. Room service was fast as well and only took 15 minutes to be at our door every time we ordered something. Loved how isolated the sound was in our room. We had the music on very loud at some points throughout our stay and no one called to complain. It was nice to not hear the people next to us either :-p I can't think of one thing that I didn't like about staying at this hotel. I LOVED every part of my stay and the next time I plan on being in Brisbane I will definitely be staying at this place. Almost forgot to mention the concierge here, I forgot his name, he was so attentive to any of our excursion needs as well as any dinner plans that we wanted to make. He was amazing!! We had some excursion cancellations that happened and he was able to find us some other fun things to do and booked it for us within minutes. Super friendly and helpful! I am a FAN. ;-)
